Getting back to the original question, I wonder if there might be a connection with Midas that would explain Rumple’s gold skin and eyes. Or maybe it’s as James says in “Frederick,” gold gets in the way of love…maybe Rumple took on his gold hue as an armour against love.
[adrotate group="5"]In the beginning of the series, I found Rumple transfixing, couldn’t take my eyes off him. His energy and his ability to read people’s souls are sexy to me, plus the fact that it’s RC. But I found Gold sexier until “Skin Deep” showed us the other side of Rumple. That sort of dance he does as he tries to keep a distance from Belle, but yet can’t resist sitting beside her…the way he watches her, admiring yet respectful…the way he really listens to her…and when he leans in and whispers, “Why did you come back?” and you can see how vulnerable he is at that moment…all of it is so sexy that the skin and the teeth become beautiful because they’re part of what makes him Rumple. Do you know what I mean?
Maybe someone who participates in the Twitter sessions with RC could ask him if he has a lot of screen time in the finale. That might give us a clue as to whether a Rumbelle reunion will happen in the season finale.
My guesses for the finale: most of the episode will focus on MM’s trial. She will be found innocent, possibly by some discovery Emma makes, as well as Gold’s silver tongue. But, while David will want to renew his relationship with MM, she will break up with him. However, in FTL, SW and her army will be victorious, perhaps with help from Red and Rumple.
Formerly, I thought that Belle’s reunion with Gold would have to come at the series finale, because it’s bound to be one of the biggest moments of the show. But now I’m starting to think that it would work if the reunion comes at the season finale. It would give Gold the kick he needs to battle Regina full-force. “A man in love has the strength of thousands,” as someone once said. Besides, I don’t know if we can wait years for Rumbelle’s return! “Let’s get ready to Rumbelle!”
On the other hand, putting together August’s love of water and the gender role reversal quotation, maybe August is the Little Mermaid
I’m going to stubbornly stick to my guess that whoever else he may be, August is the librarian, the caretaker of the book, the gatekeeper to knowledge. And I think he’s OUAT’s Desmond, that is, he has some unique ability that will enable the hero, Emma, to access FTL, as Desmond did for Jack.
But if it turns out he’s not the librarian, I hope that someone is so that Storybrooke Library can go back in business.
A good question, Celesstarr! Maybe his change of mind has come gradually, as he’s come to see that Regina is still wrecking people’s lives–wonder if Gold knows what she did to Graham? Maybe we’ll get insight into his feelings about Storybrooke, Regina, Emma, and his own life once he starts seeing Hopper. So far, Gold’s had no one to express his opinions and feelings to.
