I said this way back in Tiny but I have a feeling Jack was lying about her Jabberwocky incident. I suspected that Alice had done the slaying and then Jack betrayed Alice and took all the credit. If we see her again, I hope it’s only for one episode. I really didn’t like her.

That’d totally be in character for Jack. I’d like to see that! 🙂

You must be young! They weren’t in school that long ago! 😆 They are only in their 30s. This came out when they were tots. I bet they were influenced by it.

Actually, 40s. Horowitz is 41 and Kitsis, 42. Both were both in 1971.

I think some characters would have still existed, just probably not cross paths.

Killian probably would not have become Hook, but he’d still have a reputation as a pirate. Maybe instead of Cora meeting Rumpel as the Dark One, it would have been Zoso or a different dark one. Events might have happened differently. Like, I’m pretty sure Milah would have still ran off, maybe not with Hook or maybe someone else.

I think you misunderstood the discussion, obisgirl. 🙂

We’re discussing here the impact on future events had Baelfire not sought the Blue Fairy, got a magic bean from her, opened a portal for him and his father to go through and ultimately got separated from Rumple as the latter chose magic over his own son. By that point Zozo was already dead, Rumple was already the Dark One and Milah had already ran off with Hook. 🙂

Yeah, the Queen of Hearts isn’t even in “Through the Looking Glass”. The Red Queen and White Queen are essentially chess pieces and the whole story is one big chess match.

    So for the Alice stories:
Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland: Deck of Cards
Through the Looking Glass: Game of Chess

Off-topic, but I’ll be very giggly if at some point the Red Queen turns a tower into a golem:

Yeah, that’s my nerd side showing. Carry on.

The more I think about it, the more I doubt that they will ever kill off one of the core cast. This show is all about hope and redemption and I think, unlike LOST where sacrifice plays a big role, they’ll keep them all alive. I suspect Emma will die at some point, but she’ll come back to life, as savior figures are wont to do.

Yeah, me too, and that’s one of the things I like the most about this show: I don’t have to worry all that much about the characters that I love. 🙂

That comments make me think now there will be some kind of romantic back story between her and Cyrus. 😆

Given how young the actress is, she looks to be similar in age to Alice and Cyrus, I’m thinking the Red Queen may have wanted Cyrus for herself but he did not love her so she trapped him in a lamp until Alice freed him. The Red Queen sought revenge on both of them.

Interesting. I can see that happening indeed. 🙂

The glossary we’ve created here at the site also has a useful definition for canon.

Oh, dang! That’s right, it would’ve been so much easier to find and to read the definition if I’ve just brought it from there! 😆

If Baelfire had stayed in fairytale world, there would be no curse. Rumpel only needed the curse to get to our land. So the Evil Queen would need to get her revenge against Snow a different way and most likely, Emma would have grown up a princess. But in typical Emma fashion, she probably would have hated parts of it.

Actually, Rumple might’ve never approached Cora, who’d have been killed by the greedy king, never to give birth to Regina or kill Snow’s mother. Snow, on the other hand, might’ve never met Charming, since she did so while being an outlaw, so no Emma at all! 🙂

WHAT the heck does CANON mean?

    From Wikipedia:

In fiction, canon is the conceptual material accepted as “official” in a fictional universe’s fan base. It is often contrasted with, or used as the basis for, works of fan fiction, which are considered to be non-canon. It is used in two slightly different meanings: ‘First, “it refers to the overall set of storylines, premises, settings, and characters offered by the source media text”. In this sense, canon is “the original work from which the fan fiction author borrows,” or “the original media on which the fan fictions are based.” Second, it is used “as a descriptor of specific incidents, relationships, or story arcs that take place within the overall canon”; thus certain incidents or relationships may be described as being canon or not. The alternative term mythology is often used, especially to refer either to a richly detailed fictional canon requiring a large degree of suspension of disbelief (e.g. an entire imaginary world and history), or to a central thread of storytelling running through a broad fictional canon that may episodically wander into many side plots with little connection to that thread.

Yes, I’m picturing that our first intro to PP will be episode 5 (that tends to be the misc. character episode, Archie in S1 and Whale in S2). And then he’ll play a part of the majority of the season until the end.

I’m not counting on a Peter Pan-centric episode this early, to be honest. My working scenario has our first sight of Peter being in a Hook-centric one, 3×04 as I mentioned above.

Ah. I guess I misread your initial comment. Yes, the back story that early would be odd, especially if he’s the big bad for an entire season. Cora wasn’t revealed to be the QoH until 9 and then her backstory was 17. But, yes, first official siting will come around 4 or 5. Then lots of mystery and buildup to the backstory.

    Yup, seems about right. 🙂
