Finally getting to see Peter Pan is what I am most excited about. Plus, we can finally stop theorizing that every new male character will be Peter Pan once we see him in the flesh, which used to be the case for Bae too. Ironically, many people thought Bae and Peter were one in the same. 😆
On the bright side, we’re likely to wait far less to find out who’ll be playing Peter than it was to discover MRJ was playing adult Baelfire.

Ha ha… I think he could pass for 16 as they could age him down with longer hair and no facial hair. He’s 24. But yes, he is quite pretty. Aren’t the most dangerous villains the ones who can fly under the radar and appear likeable?
He’s pretty tall too – 1.88m – but then again so is Parker Croft with his 1.87m.
I was going to post that I wasn’t sure that I could buy him as a villain with that eyecolor, but you make a good case about the most dangerous villains appearing likeable. 🙂

ParticipantGood point, RG. Adam and Eddy are very careful when casting major characters. Barbara Hershey, Michael Raymond-James, Sebastian Stan, whoever gets to play Peter Pan will necessarily have to not only look young, but also be well-recognized as talented.
I like Chance, he reminds me of the Peter Pan from the Neverland mini-series. Not sure how I feel about him being known for a Gossip Girl role, though. 😕

Plus, as someone has probably said before, child labor laws in terms of limited filming time per day are a pain to deal with.
Actually, we all forgot about this in this discussion! 😆 And we should’ve remembered, it’s the reason Jared spends several episodes doing only one or two scenes. 🙂

ParticipantSeeing how most new shows take a very slow pace with their first few episodes to introduce the main cast of characters and give us a sense of who they are as people, they’d be unlikely to bring him in the first few episodes even if they had room for such, so it’s no biggie. 🙂

ParticipantI remember hearing about the Broadway role, but I thought it’d be over before he started working on Captain America 2, so I didn’t take that in consideration. It’s refreshing to know there’s a chance that it ends on July, though. 🙂

IMO …Peter could be menacing and still a child especially if he has powerful magic of some kind. An example of this would be young voldy in the deathly hallows movie. I do agree that child actors are risky. Also I’m thinking that we won’t stay in NL long since Jared will grow a lot this year … And no one grows up in NL. Maybe just this season.?
That’s true. Hero Fiennes-Tiffin, who played 11 year-old Voldemort, was pretty creepy on Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, but here’s the catch: he never took on adults face to face as an equal. Not even Harry did that in first few books; he showed great bravery in the face of danger, that’s true, but he was very obviously no match for Voldemort back then. Rowling always brought a plot device in Harry’s confrontations with Voldemort that allowed Harry to defeat him without making too much of a mockery out of the villain:
– Lily’s love protection in book 1;
– Fawkes, Gryffindor’s sword and the Basilisk Tooth on Riddle’s Diary in book 2;
– Priori Incantatem from Harry and Voldemort’s twin wands in book 4;
– Dumbledore in book 5.Only in book 7 was Harry portrayed as someone capable enough to take on Voldemort as an equal, and even then yet another plot device was invented to avoid Harry having to resort to the killing curse to end Voldemort.
More to the point, Harry Potter and Peter Pan (in his traditional portrayals) are heroes; we’re meant to see Voldemort and Captain Hook as monsters for even considering killing young boys. In ONCE, Peter will play the role of the VILLAIN; having bastions of goodness like Charming or Snow attack a pre-teen would give the wrong vibe to the audience, tarnishing their characters.

In the preview they mentioned Pirates?
Mermaids as well. The reference to Neverland is obvious, I’d like to see what that means.

My head theory is that the first 6 episodes will find Belle running SB, keeping law and order, and keeping everyone safe. Then she goes after Bae like I proposed here. EdR will rock the storyline in both SB and FTL.
Agree on this angle. I’m thinking they might ping pong the secondary plot of the episodes between Belle and Bae to account for time in Neverland moving far faster than FTL’s or SB’s. In this scenario, Belle would be featured in, say, episodes 2, 4 and 6 and Bae on 3, 5 and 7, with the premiere featuring everyone. By episode 8 at most I hope Belle and Bae’s stories have already been merged in a journey to join their family in NL,

While I was (am) heartbroken over splitting up my OTP, I have faith in H and K. I think they have big plans to develop Belle’s character more fully. One of the biggest complaints I see about her is that she’s nothing but Rumple’s GF/TL which just isn’t true. She’s so much more, so yes. Bring on Mayor Queen Belle!
Agreed that she’s so much more, but they haven’t played that angle well. She’s been mostly that in season 2, the flashback scenes from The Outsider being a notable exception.
