I don’t know whether the reason Peter Pan wanted Henry will be because Henry is born of true love. If it is then it would pretty much kill any other romantic options for Emma because Neal would supposedly be her true love. I think a triangle between Hook/Emma/ Neal will occur but if Neal and Emma are supposedly true loves then it takes out all the who’s she going to choose? factor. It would end up as another David/ Kathryn/ MM triangle where we know two of the people are supposed to be together because they are true loves and the third person is just standing in the way.
See, I would have agreed with you up until SSTtR where I believe it was established that Neal and Emma are true love and that to put Emma with Hook now would only be a shortly lived rebound. I think Hook and Emma are destined to become best friends, but where once I did see them having a romantic relationship that was real, I don’t anymore. But that’s just my opinion. I think Hook is doing all this to help out Bae because he feels very guilty having turned young Bae over to the Lost Ones. I think he cares greatly for Bae and wants to make amends. So putting him back with his one true love, father and son seems to be the way to do it.
But that’s the beauty of Once. We all see it differently.I agree, the last time I felt Hook and Emma could have a romantic relationship was in “Queen of Hearts”, when he expressed hurt that she abandoned him in Anton’s manor. Since them their relationship seems to be more akin to two people who understand and respect each other; it’ll take a lot of time, effort and even a bit of a leap to build them up to a point he’ll be a real rival to Neal, someone whom Emma was always shown to be emotionally affected by whatever was said and done by him.
Stories often evolve in ways you didn’t originally expected them to and plans have to be adapted as a consequence. The casting of Raphael Sbarge and Meghan Ory as regulars and the lack of payoff that came with that is a good example of this.

ParticipantAren’t you so relieved you won’t get to drink coffee twice? 😆
But anyway, I think Peter Pan is indeed a real character and he uses his own shadow as a minion. He has such a pathological fear of growing up that he never dares to leave Neverland, sending his shadow to other realms when he needs to do things there.

And he appears to be the leader of the Lost Boys, making him a favoured servant of PP’s. PP sent him to retrieve Bae from the ship, so it stands to reason that it was his shadow that PP sent to retrieve Bae from London.
I didn’t get the feeling that he was the leader of the Lost Boys, just of the group that was tasked to deal with Hook.
Side note: Hook refers to them as the Lost ONES. I think that was a deliberate change to allow girls into the group.

Love that even though I was COMPLETELY spoiled for this ep, I was totally blindsided by this stuff. Well played, show! The moment when they said Bae didn’t match the pic, and I realised it was gonna be Henry that PP is looking for, my jaw dropped open and I got chills. 😮
Oh, yeah. We guessed some details wrong, but most of the events were very much spoiled or deduced, like Belle regaining her memories, Hook having a soft spot for Bae, Emma and Regina together stopping the apocalypse and GOAT kidnapping Henry and taking him to Neverland. But Peter Pan a villain and the head of the Home Office? I have to kudos Adam and Eddy, they did a clever job building a red herring out of Baelfire, inducing us to believe he would turn out to be Peter Pan with so many connections to the tale in his life, and then dump this bombshell on us! 🙂

ParticipantWell, they’ll never truly be 100% good like Charming and Snow, nor do I expect them to be. They’ll likely do a bad act here and there, just never back to the level Regina did when she teamed up with her mother to kill Charming, Snow and Emma.
But I wouldn’t be too much worried with that. Peter Pan already seems creepier than the three of them combined, and we haven’t even seen him yet! For a character that’s usually portrayed as a hero, despite his many negative characteristics, that’s pretty shocking.

Yes, I love that idea. Demileto. Seriously, someone send this in or: OI! Slurpeez. If you read this, I think this is really solid.
EDIT
Sometimes I think if I yell for someone on the forum, they’ll magically appear.
😆
You know, I think I understand now why we only saw Peter’s shadow in “Second Star to the Right” thanks to this theory. Peter’s fear of growing up must be so pathological he doesn’t risk leaving Neverland, sending his shadow out of it when he needs to do things on other realms.
Demileto
ParticipantBut why Peter would need to do this if that’s precisely Neverland’s purpose, to keep him a perpetual child?
I’d suggest a small change to the theory, that what keeps Neverland as a place where you never grow old is precisely Peter’s sacrifices of kids and/or their shadows, and Henry’s uniqueness would make him the sacrifice to end all sacrifices.

Am I the only one who thinks Rumple knows this? I mean he seemed absolutely terrified when saying that Greg and Tamara were working for someone they all should be worried about. He knows more then what he is letting on so far. Can’t wait to see he knowledge of the shadow
Wouldn’t be a surprise. He IS the Crocodile, and what kind of a Crocodile would he be if he never stepped his foot on Neverland?

a potion with August’s hair? I mean really? that’s the solution?
LOL, you tell me! It’d be much better to have the diamond deactivated do the job as I thought it’d would, huh? This solution smells too much like a Deus Ex Machina one! 😆

I think Henry is a child both from true love but born here by FTL characters making him a child of two worlds AND born of true love. PP was a child of two worlds in many regards. I think the Shadow is PP and he wants a host. And he needs a very special host.
I’d emphasize more the fact that Henry was conceived here, rather than being born, otherwise Cinderella’s daughter Alexandra would also fit the bill. 🙂
It’s possible that the shadow is PP, but Felix also mentioned that PP can rip your shadow out of your body, so maybe Peter uses his shadow as his envoy while he stays in NL commanding the Lost Boys?
BTW, we’re having about three threads that are more or less about the same subject, Henry’s importance. Shouldn’t we be merging them?

And come one! The one time you didn’t use the BF as a freaking plot device and my OTP gets the short straw!?! Why couldn’t the BF do the magic spell???
Actually, they did. It was the BF who discovered how to restore Belle and Sneezy’s memories by using hair from Pinocchio. 😆
