I thought it was a bit weird when they mentioned it at first, as my first thought was the russian princess, who’s a real person and doesn’t really fit in.

Not to mention the fairy tale that surrounds Anastasia has already been debunked with the discovery of her remains a few years ago.

That said, I think mythical Rasputin would make a great ONCE villain. 🙂

cool theory, do u think that’s Jasimine?

That would be an interesting twist but apparently in the Disney show (someone correct me if I’m wrong) Jafar has a sister. Jasmine would be really interesting though.

According to Disney Wikia, Jafar’s sister was actually introduced in a video game:

    http://disney.wikia.com/wiki/Nasira

Though her existence apparently has a basis on the original Alladin tale. From the trivia section of the aforementioned wiki article:

In the original tale of Aladdin, the evil magician (whom Jafar was based on) had a younger brother who wanted revenge on Aladdin for killing his older brother. The younger brother went to visit a woman and murdered her, taking her identity. Dressed up as the woman, he went to the palace, where a slave of the princess told her that a holy woman had come. The princess went to see ‘her’ and the younger brother offered her a prayer of prosperity. The princess begged him to stay with her forever. He agreed, but kept his veil on, so he wouldn’t be discovered. After suggesting to the princess to put a roc’s egg in the hall, Aladdin asked his genie to make it so. The genie calls Aladdin a fool and reveals who the ‘woman’ really was. Aladdin called the ‘woman’ in and once the younger brother arrived in his disguise, Aladdin grabbed a dagger and stabbed the brother in the heart, killing him. The original tale of Aladdin ends there. Nasira is most likely based on that character.

Incidentally, Nasira’s goal in the game was precisely to ressurect Jafar. 🙂

Loved the sneak peek, but come on! NOW they release it? The freaking episode’s tomorrow! ONCE gets its sneak peeks 3-4 days before the episode airs, it’d be nice for the same to happen with Wonderland if only to avoid their sneak peeks getting overshadowed by the ones from the parent show, like it’s happening now.

Everyone is predicting we get canceled and they’re probably on to something. But this guy seems to think that ABC will let the show play out its 13 episode run if only because nothing else can go there.

Better than nothing, I guess. Still, I had expectations that ABC would order a few more episodes for this season of Wonderland, but if these ratings stick it seems really doubtful. 🙁

Why would Peter have bothered tricking Rumple into becoming Dark One though if PP could’ve just gotten Bae using his pipe? Something doesn’t quite add up since giving Rumple untold power doesn’t exactly make it any easier for PP to isolate Bae from his dad. If PP is the one who planted the seer, then PP would’ve known about the prophesy of the dark curse. He would’ve known that Rumple would lose Bae. Was it just a matter of PP figuring out how Rumple would lose Bae by trial and error? Did the BF then have to step in and give Bae the magic bean to send him to A Land Without Magic after PP failed to capture Bae using the pipe?

If PP is truly behind the transformation of Rumple into the Dark One, it’d likely be because it’s not Bae that he needs, Henry is, and at that time a key element for Peter to be able to get Henry was missing: Emma. Kidnapping, Bae, thus, would never be enough; he needed to a) make sure that Emma gets conceived and b)that Emma and Bae/Neal meet and conceive Henry. Turning Rumple into the Dark One, as we know, accomplished all of this nicely almost completely without further efforts needed from Peter. Talk about impressive mastermind skills, huh?

Peter Pan is SO the Pied Piper! I noticed it said Fairy Tale Land that was NOT Neverland that was. I wonder if the Peter Pan is the one who started the Ogres War in the EF with the intent of taking the children to NL? Maybe this is when Peter first meets Bae, after Rumple has become the dark one, but before he ends the Ogres War.

Honestly, I wouldn’t be surprised to find out the Duke of Frontlands is a front for Peter Pan. For a character that we’ve never met face to face, the Duke had a surprisingly great role in defining Rumple’s life, with him positioning both Zoso and the Seer in places where Rumple could meet them. I don’t buy coincidences in this show; for me, if the Duke is not Peter, then he’s another villain, just as insidious.

Oh, and this “Pied Piper” Peter Pan dressed like an aristocrat is not helping his case in my book.

Oh yes, some new ones! Pan is totally the Pied Piper (http://www.onceuponafans.com/apps/photos/photo?photoid=185585207)

Is it me or does Pan looks like he’s a wealthy one in that picture?

If this is the case, why hasn’t Belle been affected by it? She lived with Rumple in FTL, and now she shares a bed with him in Storybrooke.

How do you know she hasn’t?

This doesn’t make sense to me. Rumple conceived Bae when he was still just a normal man. So even if Rumple’s dark curse retroactively altered his genetic make-up, that would not have been passed onto Bae or Henry. So unless Rumple was exposed to magic as a child before he ever fathered Bae it doesn’t make sense that Bae inherited magic.

By Jane’s description, it appears dark magic seems to works like radiation: the mere closeness to massive amounts of it is enough to taint you. Blue sensed that dark magic surrounded Bae in The Return, so I guess that’s the case.

Demileto wrote: What I’m finding curious is that it seems, by the synopsys, that it’s a flashback to a moment prior to Bae falling through the portal. Dylan Schmid’s looks aside (because it’s going to mesh SOOOOO well a flashback of Bae shot with 15-year-old Dylan that happens before the characters’s very first appearance shot with 13-year-old Dylan!), how long has Peter Pan been watching Rumple’s bloodline?

So this is how I think it works Tword wise: –Rumple becomes the Dark One and Bae turns 14 –Rumple ends the Ogres War and bring home all the children –Bae (newly 14) is taken by the Pied Piper –Rumple goes in search of him (newly made the Dark One) –Rumple brings home Bae and tension between them grows as Rumple continually gets darkner –The events of The Return

Indeed, Dylan hasn’t changed much since The Return so I guess it wouldn’t be as jarring to the viewer if this happens closer to The Return than Desperate Souls. I like it!
