I think we should all go re-read A and E’s interviews about Robin’s return because, yes, I am starting to agree that he’s alive but pulled from a different time, a different universe, or even from page 23? Yet they keep insisting that he’s dead (is dead) so there must be a loophole in their words because that’s a pretty big lie.
It actually would be awesome if they pulled him from page 23 …
That or he was never dead in the first place.
Also, if the EQ is responsible for bringing Robin back … and maybe even gives her life to bring him back- that would also be a new kind of awesome in my book.
[adrotate group="5"]NordicaParticipantSo. Umm. Do we still believe Adam that Robin is dead-dead? Or is anyone else hopping on my ‘Hes Alive and they’re just trying to surprise us’ train?
I’m with you!!!
I think their trick is they’re not “resurrecting” him, but they’re bringing him back from another timeline or alternate dream universe.
Woner if he’d then have the same memories or even know that he died … ?!?!
NordicaParticipantOk so going to change my previous post a bit , at this point, I say the upside down world is the EF part, and they are back now to Sb, only reason why they are hugging like they didn’t see each other long time ago, and if Sean films with others outside Regina, i say Robin is alive brought back some how.
I hope so much you’re right … I really want Robin to be back permanently. Losing him a 3rd time is just … NO …
But it’ll be interesting to see, for sure.
NordicaParticipantwe saw Robin’s soul literally explode, disappear, or whatever it did
I think you hit the nail on the head though–we don’t actually know what Robin’s soul did and because A and E never really explain the mechanics of it, they can say that his soul did pretty much anything. Maybe it reformed in some sort of nether realm. Maybe it flew into a mirror-verse and he’s trying to make contact (Slurpeez already pointed out the feather from above). Because this is completely uncharted for the show, and because their world is already so shaky, they can kinda go in any direction.
Absolutely….at this point, you really can’t put anything past this show. However, if this is in fact the final season…as much as I don’t want it to end like this, I can see Adam and Eddy pulling a stunt like this theory now floating around on twitter: Alright folks…this looks like it won’t be an easy season no matter which direction it goes! So whose going to be bringing the gin every Sunday night because I feel like we’re all going to need it!
I don’t see them killing Regina after her speech about starting a new story with the hope and belief that it’ll have a better ending than the first one.
NordicaParticipantThe mirror theory makes sense. I’m very surprised that Sean actually accepted this request. He sounded quite bitter in his exit interviews and spouting dialogue from a mirror doesn’t exactly sound like a rewarding role. Besides, he’s got a new gig lined up in ‘Timeless’, so why return to OUAT when it treated him so badly?
Not sure Sean would come back to be a mirror … 😉
NordicaParticipantCould Adam and Eddy possibly pull a “he’s not coming back from the dead” because they’ll say he didn’t actually die, but instead the Olympian Chrystal just took him somewhere? They already kind of did that with Zelena and theyve planted the idea that Hades could have been lying. I could kind of see them having Robin become Regina’s mirror and it makes sense with the episode title, but I can’t see them having Regina’s “happy ending” be having her true love in a mirror… So if that happens I can’t see the show keeping him there.
This is my thinking too.
They used the words “demise”, “obliterated” in the article and first ep a lot. But not ‘dead’
So the reason A&E say “we are NOT bringing him back from the dead” so directly could may be because he’s not dead, but just lost somewhere in time and space.
NordicaParticipantWhere to even begin? I’m still both disappointed and genuinely heartbroken about this turn of events. Killing the heroic and selfless Robin Hood …
And this has nothing to do with ships.
Yes, Robin’s role was reduced, writing for his character had become questionable, but that doesn’t change the fact that he was put on the show to create hope and be a symbol of second chances, something that’s everything to a lot of people. And that’s what died on Sunday.
I feel the writers have come to betray their own story with this one, and I’m beyond frustrated, because I see no good reason for it other than a lack of imagination in how to write for Robin … (I’m sorry, if this i harsh, but then get somebody with a fresh quill).
Following SoMe and what little Adam has said, it really seems like heartbreak just for the sake of it. There’s no plan, I don’t believe it. They’re zigging and zagging at this point – so let me repeat – they’re at a point where they’re betraying their own story and all that it has come to mean for us.
And they should know better. They DO know better. They’re smart people. But maybe they’ve forgotten. What was it the apprentice said to Henry. Being the author carries great responsibility … And by killing off Robin, I truly feel that A&E have not lived up to that responsibility and have let down their otherwise loyal fanbase. The discontent with Robin’s demise and the way it was handled transcends ships and fragmentation in the fanbase. No one gets is. No one thinks it’s a good idea. We’re all just so very sad … For Regina, for Roland, for ourselves – but mainly for the fairy tale and the hope that feeds our souls.
Maybe this would be one time where the author(s) should take a cue from the characters and just – let them live … return hope to us, bring back Robin Hood.
NordicaParticipantSomeone answer a plot mechanic question for me! Did Hook’s body actually come out of his grave? Cause it seemed like it was just his soul that Zeus zapped back? Didn’t Hades say that Hook’s body would have begun to rot (and it would….)? Did Zeus fix that too? Or is Hook’s body still in the ground and but Hook’s spirit was given life or something? What about his Excalibur wound? Did Zeus fix that too?
I have no idea. It’s so nonsensical at this point. Hook kan come back in spirit form or with a new body, decaying corpse be damned … Robin, just poof … I’m so tired of this …
NordicaParticipantBarring any BTS drama (and for all I know there was something BTS, like some of us have speculated) then the fact that professional writers can’t figure out how to 1) make Robin more interesting and dynamic AND 2) figure out how to keep Regina interesting, moving forward without resorting to killing another love interest and possibly reverting to the EQ ….baffles the mind. It’s literally their job.
Exactly!!!
I actually don’t think anything happened BTS. Except maybe that Sean would like more lines, and who can blame the guy.
NordicaParticipantAnd the problem for me this episode was that if we were to put Robin and Hook on a scale next to each other, Robin would win – never really the villain, always putting others first, the father of two young children one of whom is now an orphan.
This is it right here. I said it a either here or another thread, but they are saying that Hook’s life is worth more than Robin’s (even if it’s not their intention). People might believe Hook is redeemed and that’s fine, he’s still someone who committed murder many times over, lied, cheated, stole, shot innocent women, threatened innocents, and other nasty things. Robin’s crime is that he’s boring. That’s it. If Zeus has the power to bring people back from the dead (and even non existence because this show can handwave anythig in and out of existence)….then it should be the boring father of two who never did anything really horrible outside of a wonky code of honor and some indecisiveness.
YES! And the “boring” issue can be fixed by waking up the writers. If they cannot write for Robin Hood then find a fresh mind who can.
