—Props to David Mazouz for the opening scene with Catherine. Usually “Baby!Batman is in danger!” scenes annoy me because nothing is going to happen to him, as we all well know, and so the stakes are never really there but this scene was more like a chess game than putting him in mortal danger.

–What decade is Gotham supposed to be set in?? It has computers and modern software but look at hairstyles of the reporters in the crowd–ladies sporting Victory Rolls–and the cameras are all 1940/1950s style. Add in some of the style choices of the women, gangsters, and Val’s very “plucky 1920s gumshoe” vibe and I am often confused when Gotham takes place.
It’s nonspecific. I like to to say it DOES take place in the Super Legends of Flarrowverse, albeit on Earth-2 (which is similarly anachronistic*), in the 80s or 90s.

–Of course Lee comes back to Gotham right as Jim and Mulan get closer. How cliche!
For reasons unknown, TV writers and network execs like their love triangles. Audiences don’t. I blame The Office, but it probably dates back farther.
–Ivy’s story is so…outside of the rest of the narrative. And she’s such a peripheral character (on this show at least) that it’s hard to care about her, especially when they are going to sex her up.
Um, yeah. At least she didn’t use a venom-kiss to kill Mr. Truck Driver. But that scene at his house was creepy.
*Which would be a great word for the podcast, by the way.

Too bad the idiots wanted to kill Prince Charming more then they wanted to write a good TV Show. THAT is why they killed Baelfire, aka Neal Cassidy, the Cannon True Love of Emma Swan.All of this. Although, I personally like to have them meet in February, just to give them a year before August ruins things. I also like to make Henry nine in the pilot (the same pilot that claimed that Regina poisoned the apple because Snow was prettier than her, by the way — Early Installment Weirdness!) and add an unmentioned year-long time skip while Graham is still alive, which also accounts for Ashley drinking in “Skin Deep.”
