Jiminy’s Journal
ParticipantThe biggest reason is because Neal and Henry still haven’t gotten closure. I’m not saying they necessarily ever will, but 5×12 was the perfect time for Henry to see his dad again, but that didn’t happen. Also, it seems like Emma is just as in love with Neal as ever as much as he is with her. Just saying. The other thing is that the Neal-Emma scene in 5×12 just emphasized the contrast between their love that the selfish kind of “love” that Hook and Emma have. Maybe I’m just seeing things through shipper-glasses, but whenever we have a scene with Neal, it always seems intentional how unselfish and kind his love is in contrast to Emma/Hook’s unhealthy kind of selfish love that imperils them and everyone else. Neal still is looking out for Emma, because he loves her and always will. Neal only ever wished for Emma to be happy, even if it was without him. That is the purest kind of love there is.
This.

ParticipantYou know why they set his hair on fire? So you know who he is.

ParticipantWhat is that cerberus, a puppy?
lol, right. You’d expect the guardian of the underworld to be at least as big as a dragon.
Idk. I could probably take him out myself. Not my first time handling a mutt *cracks knuckles*
I’ve seen dragons smaller than that.

ParticipantIt was the most romantic scene on the show since this one:
Also, Eevylynn, the author of that adorable food truck fic, is pretty much on fire after this episode (read the tags, too). Well, her and the people she’s reblogging. Language warning, by the way.

ParticipantThat was such a mediocre episode of the show. I mean, granted, I haven’t watched it in a season and a half, but I could not get over the weird transformation of Jennifer Morrison’s acting. Also, it needed 100% more Rumple and 75% less Regina to make it palatable to me, lol.
The idea that Neal would be happy dead when his father is still evil/causing problems and his son is still…fatherless…is so comically wrong to me. I enjoyed seeing MRJ and JMo back together again, though.
If he only knew.
Also (I said in the chatroom, I’ll say it here), NEAL HAS UNFINISHED BUSINESS, Adam and Eddy! IT’S CALLED HENRY!

ParticipantIs this that same thing that was fixed in CS’s favour?

ParticipantSo, you know how the Gen I Pokémon games are on VC, now? I got Yellow, because it was my first Pokémon game, and it wasn’t remade in Gen III (I still remember my battery dying on me, when I was on vacation).
Anyway, I bought a Magikarp from the guy, and guess what I named it?

Participantthe audience was led to believe it all along, but when you really think about it, the only possible evidence prior to that episode was Henry’s book and the flashbacks
If we never had flashbacks, I almost wonder if I would have believed any of it. That might be an interesting experiment: if you had the same show, but no flashbacks, just present day. Would you believe?
What would have been interesting is if the show didn’t have flashbacks, but present day was still the same, so we would have the heart vault scene as an even bigger twist.

ParticipantHi, Twice! Now might not be the best time to resume watching though.
Henry calling the quest to get back Hook Operation Firebird is as annoying as it is nonsensical. Firebird makes way more sense as it applies SwanFire. Henry being born in Phoenix was meant as foreshadowing about his parents. It’s very clear that this arc was originally meant to be about getting back Neal before the reset button was hit. *heads desk*
Although it would be absolutely delicious if Henry had his own plans for Operation Firebird! See also: that one jokefic.
