WHY did Nimue not melt into dust when she drank from the grail? The man that was with MERLIN in the beginning of the episode .. melted into dust when he drank from the grail and I presumed it was because he had an impure heart. I think Nimue had a dark impure heart as she was consumed with vengeance and revenge. She should have melted away into nothing when she picked up and drank from the cup. . .
Yes she should have. So either:
1) the gods didn’t care?
2) she didn’t have an impure heart?
3) PLOT. Shiny shiny PLOT
You only need permission touch the cup, not drink from it (Everybody get straws!)?
As for how long Rumple was the dark one, based on several pieces of evidence, I have his becoming the Dark One in 1860. Yes, yes, I KNOW that’s not 300 years. Guess what? They play fast and loose with the timeline a LOT
1000 years before the age of Arthur is roughly 500 B.C.
Guess what wasn’t around in 500 BC?

If you ask me, these captions have made the timeline more confusing.

– No Zoso or Gorgon at the end? Gorgon would have been easy (CG bandersnatch), and for Zoso, they could have used archive footage (“Choose your paaaaaaaath.”) if they couldn’t get Brad Dourif.
– As much as I love the color green, inconsistent DO makeup. Both Zoso and Rumpel had gold skin (well, Rumpel was supposed to; he often had inconsistent makeup himself). Nimue was green. Emma is chalk-white.
– Vortigan as red herring was as obvious as Nimue being DO#1.

* We may have an explanation as to why Agrabah is in Fantasyland, instead of its own world. Could the hieroglyphic door be Fantasyland’s? Does Fantasyland have more than one door?
* Holy Grail possibly connected to the Well of Wonders? The Well does house the Greek goddess of the night, who also hates sharing her water. I personally have always theorized she could have made the Jabberwock into “a monster.” We do know she makes genies, after all.
* Were Merlin and his buddy escaping from slavery? If so, who was their master?
* Is Merlin dead? Or was he made to say that using the sword?
* Is it just me or did Mickey somewhat resemble a young Robbie Kay? Hmm…

Oh gosh, the hat. Yes, we’ve never gotten a proper explanation for the hat/dagger connection.
I think it was just that the cleaving ritual needed a ton of magic, and the hat was needed to collect it all.
As for why the hat was made… Perhaps Merlin intended to use it to remove the dark magic from Nimue’s heart like was done with Rumple. Problem is that unlike Excalibur, the hat can’t actually destroy the darkness nor even store it, so it’ll go around causing havoc unless tethered to a human again.
We need to cleave Merlin from the sword.
At 1:29, I noticed that the woman in the castle had a proportional head, so that is clearly not the RQ. Could it be the QoH?
