ParticipantFinally getting around to downloading roomie’s photos from the weekend. On the way home, we passed this… Puck was utterly fascinated.

ParticipantYep. Emma smiles with Neal – in the past and all the way through to their last scene. (The pirate, on the other hand, has seen so few smiles he comments with surprise when he sees one.) Emma is not a smiley person, yet somehow he causes her to light up…
Reason ten million and five my ship is the awesomest 🙂

ParticipantQuestion: So if Neal didn’t call the cops on Emma… Who did? Twas it August? I know the tweet implies there is more going on in that story, but it doesn’t necessarily rule out that August did it…
The only people who have answers to that are A&E, maybe MRJ & Eion (who both seemed in the know about there being ‘more to the story.’) August seems to be the logical explanation, based on a few things. The fact that there seemed to be an intention to show additional Neal/August scene tells me there were additional plans to “clear” Neal’s name at some point. Whomever called had to know a) where Emma would be, b) about the train station footage, and c) that she had one of the watches – and August would, only if Neal told him. We know it was a “him” who called. If not August I guess they could have shown someone else in the alley watching the conversation from the shadows – someone from the home office, maybe Greg/Owen? – but I’m not sure how much it matters, other than it being “not Neal.” Someone could always ask Adam, though I’d wager the odds of getting an answer at this point are slim.
The fact is, the arresting officer likely did a huge amount of damage by telling Emma “her boy” had turned her in. It planted the idea that he’s thrown her under the bus, instead of her just chalking the arrest up to bad luck, and narrowed the possibilities of what happened down for her. Who’s to say her decisions in the ensuing decade would not have changed if that “fact” had not been handed to her? It’s an interesting “what if” game; you change one tiny detail and the outcome may change altogether. (August sends the 20k? She likely keeps Henry. August approaches the day before? Neal leaves, but Emma does not end up in prison and therefore far less bitter. Etc. It’s part of what makes the entire saga so intriguing; everything has to fit together “just so” or the story is changed totally.)

ParticipantSo last night I PMed the official Squishables Facebook page with a link to Puck’s blog. They seem pretty excited about it and want to share it sometime this week. This means that very soon people who have no idea what we’re on about are going to start seeing Puck’s blog. It’s both exciting and terrifying!
Also, according to that VoteBison.com page I posted yesterday, November 1st, 2014 is officially National Bison Day (in the US). That means we’re going to have a party, right?
That. Is. AWESOME!! 🙂

ParticipantLast week in the course of our play, a certain crocodile finally managed to eat a one-handed sea captain, and said captain was tossed behind the chair in the playroom. Today, nannykid informed me, “We got Captain Hook out from behind the chair.” I tried to hide my disappointed face as he continued, pointing at his toy trucks. “But… now he’s in the garbage truck,” as he pointed into the trash receptacle at the top.
I laughed so hard the baby gleefully declared, “Funny!” I would claim that I taught him well, if I had a darn thing to do with it.
