ParticipantI am sad that my sad makes you sad, RG 🙁
The ironic thing is my moodiness does not take a lot to swing. I still stand by all of my posts in the thread about what makes the most sense with the story. But then, the closer we get to 322… the harder it gets to hang on in this game of chicken, and see if A&E are trolling their own fanbase or if they actually just made the story suck this much.
They can’t actually have decimated their story this way, could they have? Surely there must be some explanation for the disaster that is 3B. Surely something in the two-hour movie of 321/2 will explain all of the madness that has just ensured. Surely.
But today, I am really doubting it. And worse, I am OKAY doubting it. Because I would rather go into 321/2 expecting a crock of junk than to go into it expecting MO322. If we get MO322, I will be elated (and feel super vindicated,) because I still maintain it makes the most SENSE, but if I tell myself now it won’t be happening, then it shields my heart a bit from the blow when it is all just a crock of junk.
Today, and probably for the next week, my mantra remains Florence & the Machine’s Shake It Out –
“And our love is pastured such a mournful sound…”
“…But it’s always darkest before the dawn…”Just the low point before the hero fights back. Right? Right?!

ParticipantJaxer, your questions are excellent. I have to be honest and say I have NO idea what they have been doing this half. Neverland wandered a bit, but it was still Once. This half-season, I feel like they have just completely lost their way, and I don’t have a clue why. If it was BTS, ok, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. If it was CS, ok, but they’re not really pushing the CS story so that doesn’t seem to be the case.
Just thinking about the leaked sneak, if all it took was Regina finding super-speed love with Robin Hood (they’re, what, two weeks post-curse?) why on earth could we not have done that in the EF? If Emma is not the one to defeat Z, then they not only brought Emma out of her “pretty good” NYC life for no reason, Neal’s “heroic” action from 319 was all for naught. They didn’t need her anyways. They brought Rumple back for no reason (he’s done nothing but be “around” threateningly as Zelena’s secret weapon,) killed Neal for absolutely no reason, brought Emma into a world of heartache and pain for absolutely no reason, brought Henry into a world of confusion for absolutely no reason. We didn’t need the curse, so we assassinated Snow’s character for absolutely no reason, and killed (and then resurrected) Charming for absolutely no reason. That is SIX of your characters that you have had make absolutely pointless sacrifices. What the heck is going on with this show?
In case you can’t tell, I am super cranky tonight. I have moved my sleeping bag into RG’s tent of doom and DSB without her optimism is not a fun person to be around. :p

ParticipantThe train is what we ride from Castle Tallahassee – where we sit now, in our tents (and tunnels) – to Lunacy Junction, where we either experience DO322 and go to Sad Town, or we get MO322 and a herd of rogue bison detour us to the bison ranch. If I follow correctly, the hot air balloon will touch down only if we get AO322 (ambiguity,) and will take us to some undisclosed location. I am thinking it is likely to be a psych ward. 😉
Although I still have logical hope for the ten million reasons listed above, I am not feeling terribly hopeful. I am really glad, actually, because I was having a terrible time shaking off my optimism and I’d really like to be firmly in RG’s tent by the time of the finale. It’s sad in there, but it will hurt so much less to ride down to Sad Town if I’m already halfway there.

ParticipantYeah, perhaps some minor edits, but likely very close to reality.
Trying to recall what Glinda said, now, about the magic. Just that it was born of true love? I took that to mean the purveyor was born of true love, but perhaps not. Regina does look over at Robin right before she busts out the white light magic, so I guess it was motivated by her true love? How strange. I didn’t find it any more OOC than the Charmings enacting the dark curse, or having a guy who had spent his life running from dark magic saying “To hell with the price.” At least this could be classified as character development, not just utter stupidity.
And poor Emma. She came back from a “pretty good” life in NYC to lose her child’s father, and have her child and baby brother nearly killed, while doing very little to actually effect events. If this season is supposed to be a journey for Emma to find her home, I sure don’t see these events endearing her to Storybrooke. Honestly confused on what story the writers are trying to tell with that girl. It just gets more depressing. “Only you can break the curse, defeat the witch, and save the town, with your awesome magical powers. Psych! Nevermind, we actually meant Henry’s OTHER Mom…”
Glinda also said that once she gave Zelena the necklace, all of her magic became stored there, so once it’s off I think she might indeed be magic-less.

ParticipantWhy not? Everyone else has done it, lol…
ETA: this was in reference to Phee’s post above, NOT text’s. I am a few posts behind & keep cross-posting.

ParticipantWith regard to the caging – just dawned on me that Henry spent time trapped in Pandora’s box. Not exactly the same thing, but kinda.
Edit: also, he spent time in his grandfather’s body. Had not caught that until now. So weird, what IS this show doing?! I know walk a mile in someone else’s shoes and all, but it seems a little extreme… :p
ETA2: Er, great-grandfather. You knew what I meant :p

ParticipantWatched Echo Cave again yesterday, because – that’s just at thing I do now, apparently. Two thoughts, not really related to each other.
1) Thinking about Neal, in the cage. And Rumple, in the cage. Well, I mean, at first it was Rumpeal but – have we really seen Rumple in the cage since the magical separation? Hmm. I don’t even really have a theory or a thought on WHAT there is to that, but it seems like it should be A Thing.
Only possible further thought might be that in order to get Neal out of his cage, it required truth and raw feelings from Emma; perhaps the same will be required to free Rumple from his cage? Who knows. It just seems like there’s something there to the cages – the inclusion of both is a little too blatant.
2) I don’t remember why, but I was thinking earlier about the shots they chose for Emma’s memories coming back. I think I was pondering it in relation to my earlier post about how Emma has “seen” all of her options with respect to Neal – dead, not dead, around, scum, etc – and wondering what pieces jumped to forefront as her memories returned. I had written the whole sequence down once before, but have no idea where that notebook is, so I pulled it up and watched it once again. I was also curious what memory she had of Hook; I knew there was one, and just could not place it. It seems that there should be some significance to the shots they chose, no? So SF-related, they had a quick shot of the dreamcatcher, and a shot of Neal falling through the portal. The shot of Hook was one from Neverland I couldn’t quite place; him standing there in a rocky area with Snow & Charming behind him. So I wracked my brain… in Bae’s cave? On the island waiting for Pan? Yeah, no. Watched the Echo Cave sequence and realized why it looked so familiar… it was totally his reaction shot to the epic Echo Cave hug. Say what? (Nevermind that Emma could not possibly have seen that since her back was to the three at the Cave’s entrance and she was tightly hugging Neal at the time, lol.) Emma’s one memory of Hook was of him reacting to her hugging Neal? Really?
It’s probably a Thing that was discussed a billion pages ago, but it’s interesting, nonetheless. Henry’s, for what it’s worth, included similar scenes to Emma’s from S1 (meeting in her Boston apartment, connecting, curse breaking,) then had a Neverland memory and single memory each of Neal and Regina before the memory of the repealing of the curse – same as Emma’s ended. No Hook at all in his, lol.
Incidentally, Emma’s memory sequence started with her blowing out her candle, aka, wishing upon a star. Still one of my favorite touches of the series. All she wished for was to not be alone on her birthday, sheesh. Perhaps it’s a giant case of be careful what you wish for 😉

ParticipantInteresting theory! Might I add, who do we know who has drawing abilities that were mentioned (without real cause or follow-up) and would have reason to draw Henry, especially if separated from him out-of-time sequence? His Dad…

ParticipantI feel the need to brag… I have the funnest (funniest?) roomies ever. Last night, one of them brought up Baelfire at Life Group (Bible study,) and today, I got a text from my other one – at a work conference – with this photo. Shortly thereafter, she texted me, “I’m only six hours from Tallahassee!”
Love my roommates!!
