ParticipantIf another guy comes along who looks like he would be a good match for Emma, I’d root for him. But right now I’ll just stick with Bae, because I’m looking forward to potential Charming vs. Rumple family drama 😎

ParticipantI think if they were going to introduce us to Rumple’s ex-wife they would’ve done so in Desperate Souls. I think her absence from one of Rumple’s backstory episodes was to show that regardless of what really happened, she’s not in the picture anymore. The writers have already given us two versions about what went wrong and why she left:
-he deserted the army during wartime and his wife left him because of it
or
-she diedBased on the information we’ve already been given, the casting of a bored housewife ready to dump her family to join a band of thieves doesn’t fit with the character of Rumple’s ex-wife.

At least it appears like Rumpel won’t be turning green in S2! He’s just way more attractive as a human than a Gollum-like creature.
But I wanted him to be green again 🙁

And I also don’t think the writers would attribute a well-known fairytale object to a character and then forget about it. Usually, when the writers give us clues, they mean something. I don’t think the writers would give Bae the magic bean, only to come back and say, “yeah but we only did that to introduce a less important character later on.” 😆
I guess this proves Jack must be Bae 😆

ParticipantHe may not be Henry’s father at all. That’s just head canon for the time being. There’s more evidence pointing to him being Jack at the moment. But we’ll have to wait and see.
True, while my head canon is that he’s Henry’s father, there’s certainly more clues that he’s Jack of the Jack and the Beanstalk story at the moment because of his making the bad deal with dad could be a twist on the bad deal or at least what Jack’s mom thought was a bad deal that Jack made for their family cow for the beans. Of course, there’s obviously the magic bean link connecting Bae and Jack that none of the other male characters have. The magic bean took Bae to a different land just like the magic beans took Jack to a different land. I could also see Bae feeling like he landed in a land full of giants (giant people, giant buildings, giant cities) if he landed in a city like Boston in the past 28 years.
The Jack and The Beanstalk story also screams “Baelfire” to me-they both share a lot of similarities. But the Blue Fairy also said that the rest of the magic beans were lost, and she gave Bae the last one. This could be a continuation of Bae’s story, or be about Jack-the guy who lost the rest of the magic beans.

I can’t see a modern adaption of Jack being a hero, and I can’t see the creators never reading Jim Henson’s thoughts on the character and going from there on. Even the elements taken from the story have to include thievery and murder. This guy might not be a ‘great guy’ right off the back – but they seem to set him up with the potential to be. Someone might have some redeeming to do!
He just might be. The last representation of him I’ve seen was from the Fables series, and he definitely was a morally ambiguous character. He was selfish, a womanizer, a con artist, and a deadbeat. I really didn’t like his character.
