I think we can assume that Gerhardt is still locked up. He wasn’t able to break out of the room before–if he could have, he would have done so. Instead he wither just sat in the chair, or attacked his brother briefly until he managed to remember. And Dr. Whale himself demanded that Regina send him back–he wanted to find his brother.
Time was probably frozen for 28 years for him, too.

I think we did get a little bit of that, but not as much as we did with Emma and her mom. As as much as I do love those scenes, it would be nice to see Prince Charming getting to be more of a dad–we saw him bonding with Henry which was awesome. 🙂
I agree NONNIE that we haven’t gotten much to work with. At least yet. I still have hopes.

First off, the Cora and Regina scenes annoyed me for how short they were. I knew Regina’s redemption would not last. I knew since the beginning that she would fall off the wagon. But it felt too quickly that it all happened–one minute she blames her mother for framing and admits that the case against her was arinight and all, and the next minute she cries on her mom’s shoulder. I thought that should have been given a whole episode.
I will say that Cora did a good job of using Henry and Regina’s feeling of isolation and helplessness against her. That was what made it believeable.
Also, the arc with the Greg should also have been given more attention–maybe even a seperate episode. It was great to see some of the characters torn between letting him die and live–I knew the Charmings would be quickly want to save him, but some of the other characters were conflicted and it would have been nice to see more of that–instead, it all felt like filler until the very end when it is revealed that Greg does know something.
I was a bit angry with Rumpelstitlskin in the beginning when he refused to heal Greg–he seemed way to bitter with everyone. I went back to feeling sorry for him when he tried to reunite with Belle–I think he might have rushed it a bit, but he was desperate to reunite with Belle. It was when he threatened the Charming family that my pity went out the window. I’m a minority here, but it disgusted me how he just went up to them and threatened to kill them all–including an 11 year old child. It is not funny or sweet or even understandable.
The Charmings have never been cruel to Belle. They kept their distance from Rumpelstiltskin and he did the same. Prince Charming had helped save Belle. And they helped take her to the hospital after what happened with Captain Hook. It especially disturbed me when he glanced at Henry–he seemed to either include him in the situation or bascially threaten to make him an orphan. I don’t care how he felt about losing man, for a man who is fond of children, he was just disturbing.
Lastly, I think one of my overall main problems was that the episode didn’t feel coherant. It felt like everything was just thrown there–none of the episode were really connected with each other. They just seemed thrown together–I don;t blame the acting but the writing here.
elleParticipantI liked the episode for the differnet arcs that were explored, and I like that we finally got more exploration on Dr. Whale’s story. 🙂
I’m gonna get hate for this, but I hated Rumpelstiltskin in this episode. Normally I’m okay with him or I feel sorry for him or even love him, but this episode just really showed him to be horrible. Threatening to kill a family (including an 11 year old boy who doesn’t even know what happened, especially since he was supposed to like children in the first place) it just really distubred me.
I get that it might have just been a threat, but it still was disturbing, and quite frankly horrible to say that to the whole family, who hasn’t really done anything to him.
I felt really bad for Regina–I kept trying to root for her to turn her mother away.
elleParticipantI wondered about that, too, for a while but then we have no idea what shape his brother’s body was in when he died. We know he was in the amry–he could have died in battle and his body might not have been in good shape.
I’m not sure why he would need another heart–it could that he simply think a magical one would be needed to bring his brother back to life.
In The Dotor, we see that Victor was successful in bringing his brother back to life–it seems most likely something we wrong. Maybe it was similar to what happened to Daniel when he came back to life. And we don’t really know how his brother was when the curse came–it could be that time is of the esscence.
elleParticipantI don’t think a couple has to be complex in order for them to be interesting or compelling. I love Snow White and Prince Charming for how dedicated they are to each other, and how they have over come many obstacles and still be strong and supportive towards each other.
As for ships, everyone has a right to ship who they want. Personally, I’ve never really seen the Captain Swan ship happening–if it were to, it would have to be, the writers would really have to show them bonding in a way in which they would trust. Also, there is Henry to consider. Emma will never chose anyone over Henry. A parent always puts their child first.
elleParticipantOh I agree. With Belle, it was just him using her to get back at Rumpelstiltskin. He was a bit in her personal space and he did sort of use his physical appeal in a way, but not in the way that he normally does with Emma. The way he was with her was more threatening than flirty.
He sort of bested Emma and Belle I guess…with Belle is was him erasing her memories I guess. With Emma it is a bit harder–yeah he sided back with Cora after she left him, but then she knocked him out cold. 🙂
I will admit that I do like there scenes togehter–I don’t ship them, but I am interested in how they both talk to one another. The actors have a great way of being able to show both wariness and some form of common ground.
elleParticipantI’m really proud of how Regina turned her mother down, but it seems to be an obvious trap–I cannot imagine Cora just willingly go and admit to a crime. 🙂 Sort of worried what she has planned–also, the way she smelled Regina’s clothes…I guess it is supposed to be her wanting to hold and smell something that belongs to Regina, but it just looks creepy. 🙂
It was really big of Regina to admit that the case against her was airtight and that the real person to blame was her mother.
Emma deserves a more lot of credit than she gets. The way she handled Captain Hook was awesome–she doesn’t even blink when she tries to interrogate him. Even when he tries to creepily flirt with her and all. I also liked how she told him how much in trouble he was with Rumpelstiltskin.
Also, I seriously cannot help but find Captain Hook pretty easy to beat. Emma and Belle have both bested him numerous times. And most of time when he flirts with women, they looked more bored and unimpressed with him. And now with him beaten up and chained, it just makes him not much of a threat, except with how he managed to erase Belle’s memories.
I felt bad for Regina when she saw Henry calling for her–she obviously wants to come, but she is afraid. And Henry himself was sweet with how he was calling for Regina. But seriously, people really need to watch him more–he always finds a way to get out.
I was thinking that, too. Both of them seem pretty close together. And both of them respect each other’s career.
elleParticipantIt is not really just a plot hole. He just didn’t think Captain Hook could do anything to him. No offense to Captain Hoom fans, but he was not all that formidable. He has been bested numerous times by Emma and Belle. Not once has there been any real threat–not until he managed to push Belle over the line.
And Rumpelstiltskin was able to beat him up pretty easily. He was confident that Captain Hook could do nothing to hurt him.
elleParticipantI guess he wanted to make Captain Hook suffer. 🙂 With Smee, the guy was just a rat (that was intended) and not really worth much of the effort. But with Captain Hook, there is a lot of hatred that he has for him–the guy ‘stole’ his wife and left Baelfire without a mother, and then tried to kill Belle. I can only guess he just wanted to beat Captain Hook up and kill him slowly and painfully.
