@surayya. I hope it’s that way too. I would prefer it was a bribe to keep his silence rather than Hook demanding his hand back. (I wrote a small ficlet along those lines) it also gives Rumple a chance to ‘curse’ the hand if he wants to get up to a little mischief

    Edit: sorry stupid autocorrect.

I definitely agree with those sentiments…I mean, I’ve heard of “hate-watching” and all, but it’s weird seeing so many people rather obsessed with a show but wanting so badly for it to end. And yeah, no one on the show is perfect. And the people who most often go on anti-Hook tirades are, of course, the ones who ship Emma with someone else. For example, I find it hilarious to see people who want to see Emma with Regina talking about how terrible Hook is. I mean, seriously? Let’s think about this for a second. If Regina were a male character, I highly doubt anyone would be defending her. Why are murder, rape, and child abuse totally forgivable crimes if a woman is the one committing them?

I also bristle at the implication that Emma is too stupid or naive to “see Hook for what he is”. She is very clearly neither of those things, nor is she afraid to tell a guy to bleep off if she doesn’t want him around–look how she reacted when he kissed her in 311 when she had no idea who he was–like mother, like daughter. ;-)

Absolutely! I always think of it the other way as well. If Hook was a woman, would he be garnering as much as hate as he does. Ignore the romantic element (well actually you don’t have to) but if everything Hook did over season 3 in terms of their friendship – encouraging her, standing by her, helping her family, etc – if that was all done by Mulan for example there would not be all the backlash about her being all stalkery or only doing it to get into Emma’s pants. I find that Hook gets a lot of flack just b/c he’s a bloke, which makes absolutely no sense at all.

Is it possible that man can get any hotter/prettier/sexier/insert other adjective here? *fans self*

Old photo? Or back in pirate gear for new episode? Interesting if he’s discarded the modern gear already…

    Nemo! Perfect! 😀

I do like how they’re writing CS this season. They still have their sass, to me it feels like their dialogue is back to how it was when they first met. Emma still has her walls (literally in this ep 😉 ) but they’re slowly crumbling – virtually down by the end of that ep, but I think even with all the hugs and hand holding Emma will still be a bit hesitant about running head on into a relationship – but Hook’s not going to give up. And I love that it took Charming to calm him down. That if Killian had a calming influence (or even someone with a higher rank/position) around when Liam and Milah died, perhaps he may not have gone down the path he did. I just wish Charming didn’t stop him from punching out Rumple. What a smug git he was this week (no offence) 🙂 And I know why he didn’t help, it was to get Charming to get Elsa to solve the problem herself. But it shows that Rumple’s still self serving and actually hasn’t changed. If Belle was in that cave I’m sure he would have rescued her without destroying the wall with a thought. (small rant over)

I agree 100%, @Jenna_B re other threads. I’ve been venturing out occasionally (I also read threads I shouldn’t touch with a barge pole, but I can’t help myself) but mostly I stick to this one. I’ve even wanted to stick up for a few people who have been ‘attacked’ (for want of a better word) but I didn’t want to get into an argument myself. So I stay here. Nice and safe.

    SQEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE!! *officially dead*

I have enjoyed reading all the reactionas much as I loved the ep. And Bo Peep, tell you all didn’t gigle when she first appeared? Heee, freakin’ sweet 😀

Who says he had a dark past? What he said was ‘I was once long ago quite different’. That doesn’t necessarily mean he had a dark past like Regina. For all we know he could have just been the selfish stuck up noble/richman from legend. He always introduces himself as Robin of Locksley (only other people call him Robin Hood) so I would assume that somewhere his family is part of the landed gentry. And he does have that rampant lion on his arm, which is usually a symbol of nobility/royalty (and very close to Leopold’s crest). I don’t necessarily read that line as him having a ‘dark past’. Maybe he worked for a dodgy king, perhaps his family was dodgy and he wanted to change.

Just to add to Bo-Peeps, I think it was mentioned on the DVD commentary (not sure) that the last three blokes Emma has been serious about have all died, that’s got to slightly mess you up for future relationships.

In regard to the ‘are you avoiding me line’ I actually got the feeling he was waiting for the next part of the Regina-plan, and wasn’t really focused on dealing with the previous night’s kiss – until she gave him an ‘ok’ and kept walking. Emma’s the leader – she always gives direction, so when she doesn’t….well, something’s up! So I think Emma walked into that one all on her own! I think we might see quite a bit of passive-aggressive behavior as Emma tries to find her footing, which could be very interesting. It forces Killian to be the leader when it comes to their relationship, something they both really need to have happen.

Oh that’s a good point about Killian becoming a leader/equal in their relationship. You’re right, it’s always been Emma in charge. And I think that’s why I liked their dynamic in this episode, b/c he actually was becoming a leader in their little hero group too, not just Emma’s lackey.

I guess one of the problems is the timing…like, I watched the finale again less than a week ago, and I know that on the show it’s supposed to be the next day, so it seemed weird for him to be all “are you avoiding me?” when it’s been less than 24 hours.

I thought he said that purely in terms of her reaction there and then. He said his piece, then she pretty much turned around and ignored him. He obviously wanted to talk about last night’s events, but she didn’t, hence the “are you avoiding me?” And she (I assume) had given him the check out the mausoleum job to avoid ‘the talk’ too. That’s my take on it anyway 🙂

Bet you all didn’t know you were in the presence of a brutal warlord!! (Pssst…They pay the villians/warlords better for appearing on the show, too! Hazard Pay included)

Meanwhile, in the Enchanted Forest of the past, Anna tries to teach a meek David to fight Bo Peep, a brutal warlord who is threatening to take his and his mother’s farm away if they don’t pay her price…

    Heh heh, Baaaaaaa.

    BAHAHAHAHAAA!!!
    *wipes laughter tears from eyes*
    BAHAHAHAHAHAAA!!

Fantastic! And that ladies and gentlemen, is why I love this show. 😀
