I’m agreeing with the necklace just being something that’s associated with Emma, as opposed to anything that has a deeper meaning for the posters. And you know, it has a swan on it.

I really dont think A&E would have ever made Emma make the choice of who lives & dies between Neal & Hook- that’d be just be another cruel blow she doesnt need IMO
Well she kind of did in the end with what @Epona posted. But true, it wasn’t a direct choice that if Neal died then Hook would live and vice-versa. She really couldn’t stop Neal dying though, he did seal his own fate and in the end he asked to be separated from his father.
I do actually feel sorry for Neal, especially that no-one will ever know it was him who sent the note to Hook to find Emma. I never understood why he didn’t sign his name to it (you know apart from the drama of letting the audience hang on ’til the last minute to find out about it ;))

I was just thinking about the Dark Hollow scene from Nl, when Emma shouts Hook instead of Neal, it’s interesting how Emma chooses to panic more over what’s happening to Hook than Neal in that moment (this is a moment I wish we had duel shippers here, so we could get the other side of the coin), since it’s only been a couple of weeks since Neal ‘died’, but it does IMO, hint at how much she wanted to move forward in that short period of time & her level of trust in Hook, that I think if she had to choose, she’d have picked Hook…. maybe that moment of realisation, was a big part of the deciding factors that allowed her to say “Good” at the town line. Thoughts?
I always thought that was a sign she was concerned for Hook’s safety, whether over Neal’s I don’t think she’s that mean, but definitely Hook was in the forethought of her mind. To play devil’s advocate I think she saw Hook being taken by the shadow and yelled out to him, whereas she had her back to Neal and didn’t see what happened to him until he yelled for her.
She obviously had Hook on her mind once they got back to SB, and those two didn’t have a great deal of interaction in that time. Hook really did back off. He didn’t talk to her at the party, he wasn’t ever in ‘Emma’s team’ when they split up to deal with Panry. He was always on the outer of their group (but the camera made sure we didn’t forget him). It’s Emma that brings up Hook in her and David’s conversation about standing up Neal at Granny’s, and she is pretty jealous of Tink. I think it’s fair to say Hook is definitely in her mind before their goodbyes, so when Hook says he’ll think about her everyday, she’s already been thinking about him and therefore: “Good.”

As far as Emma pulling away, I dont mind that we’ll it again, it’s keeping with in Emma’s character- I just hope it’s not as ‘full on’ as it was last season, since it is cannon/ fact Emma dropped her walls for that last kiss, so she’s knows she can do it & love
Otherwise it could get very stale, very quickly.
Well if it’s Emma pulling away because she’s feeling guilty over ruining Regina’s relationship, that makes sense. I don’t think it will last long. I mean we’ve already seen in the official promos that Hook and Emma seem to be teaming up again, and in the sneaky bts photos we’ve seen a couple little tender moments, a kiss (full on one at that), and a date so I’m not too worried it will be drawn out like last season. Besides, Emma’s already said she’s not running away anymore, so she’ll have to face up to her feelings sooner than later. Unless Hook does something stupid that sets them both back…
I’m willing to give Snow the benefit of the doubt for last season’s annoyance. If I woke up one morning and was nine months pregnant, I think I would be justified in feeling a little self-centred/anxious/demanding. 🙂 And tbh, I don’t think she’ll have any issue with Emma and Hook being together. She didn’t overreact when Emma told Snow she had kissed Hook in Neverland, she just asked ‘why?’ which is perfectly reasonable. It’s David who has his ‘daddy armour’ up when it comes to Emma and boys. And I think that’s actually quite cute.

I’ve just thought of something, Hook knows that Neal sent Emma to jail. She mentioned it to him after Neal’s funeral. But whether she told her parents, I’ve know idea. Seems strange it hasn’t come out though. Surely they must have wondered why Emma was so resistant to getting back with Neal.

Come to think of it, we really need more clarification about who knows what regarding a lot of things on this show…
Absolutely!! Couldn’t agree more. But I guess it’s just exposition that the writer’s feel is unnecessary and would probably take up too much time to explain. I think we have to assume that any flashback we see, or any information that has been given to a main character is common knowledge, at least the bare bones of the story if not all the intricate details.

And just to add when Emma finds out about Neal being alive in Neverland, she doesn’t look pleased to hear that news. And it was Snow’s ‘you owe to Henry to find out if his dad is alive’ that put her on track to wanting to find him. But I totally agree, nothing Emma did either pre or post Neal’s return showed she ever wanted to get back together with him. It was everyone else plumping for that. By the end of Neverland it was pretty obvious where Emma’s affections lay.

And ugh, it especially still rankles me to think of Neal’s laughing at Emma’s suspicions (and mocking her–in front of Henry–in the process) and seemingly enjoying what he assumed was her jealousy (I’m not the only one who got that vibe, right?). And then he just turns right around and is kinda over her right away. It didn’t seem to affect him at all, which is an especially stark contrast to how his own betrayal affected Emma. I’m not sure what the point of that observation was exactly, but that just occurred to me, haha.
No you’re not the only one who got that vibe. I rewatched second season lately (Well, had the audio on in my ear while I was at work) and I never understood the Emma was jealous of Tamara thing. Emma was totally right with her suspicions, the audience knew before the characters did. Right up until Tamara shot Neal, he was still supposedly in love with Tamara. So when Emma told Neal she loved him when he fell through the portal I thought that came out of nowhere considering this was the man who she hadn’t seen since he left her in jail (regardless of the August excuse) and had just only 5 mintues before been ignoring her suspicions about his fiancee. I never saw any chemistry between them.

I’ve been thinking for the past few days, I wonder if Killian and Elsa get a bit of screentime together As some early bts phots show [\spoiler] will Emma get jealous? I mean Elsa is blonde, beautiful, powerful with magic she can’t control. Sound like someone? And seeing the promo of Killian checking out Elsa as she walks past, perhaps Emma may see her as a rival. Especially if Elsa is nice to Killian and Emma has been keeping him at arm’s length. I don’t want *another* triangle, urgh and I don’t believe Elsa will be paried with anyone on OUAT (Frozen creators should handle that if it ever comes up) But Emma was jealous of Tink when she spied her and Killian coming out of Granny’s together. And Emma knows that she herself is ‘Hook’s type’ and Elsa seems very similar to Emma. 😉
