ParticipantSo I’ve just started my umpteenth rewatch of the whole of S3 (ready to take note of my other fav parts, to contribute to POM thread) & I just noticed when Hook & Regina are having their “Greg Mendell (sp) said something funny to me; he said I’m a villain. & that villains dont get happy endings. You believe that?” moment, well right after Hook say’s “I hope not; Or we’ve wasted our lives”, he changes his gaze, to look directly at Emma as the screen pans towards her. Never noticed it before now lol. Wonder how many other things will pop out this time around
Snap! I’m about to do that same thing. One thing I noticed about S3 there were a lot of shots of Hook looking at Emma (and quite a few reciprical ones too) Most obv in Going Home when Hook has absolutely nothing to do with the conversation, but the camera pans to his reaction to the news Emma is going to stay behind while everyone else will be forced back to the EF. It was pretty obv at the point which romance the writers were going to pursue. 😉

ParticipantI did create a thread to discuss favourite moments of season 3 since it does get a lot of negativity. Season 3 did have good moments. I’d be very interested to hear what other people’s favourite moments are.
I’ve been meaning to do that, but considering a lot of my fave moments involve Hook, I wanted to have a proper think and branch out a little bit 😉
@Jenna_B – I agree with pretty much everything you said about OQ. I don’t have an issue with them being quite close and everything is lovey-dovey ‘cos that’s what people do when they first get together. And so what if it was quick, love at first sight and all that – they just acted upon it instead of waiting. Pixie dust or no pixie dust, Robin clearly liked Regina in SB and probably in the EF too – I always thought that Regina was starting to feel something for Robin then but put up her Evil Queen persona b/c that was what people expected in the EF, so ended up pushing him away. You can see her facade falter a little when Robin saves her from the evil exploding door at the DO’s castle.I read a theory about time travel, that regardless of what had been altered things that are supposed to happen will still happen, but you would get there in another way. They likened it to putting a rock a river. The water will still flow to the same destination, but there is an obstacle in the way, so it may take a little longer or need to take a different route. So thinking of time travel in that way I believe that Marion will die as she is supposed to be dead and the world/powers that be will conspire to set that right. And that is kind of what happened when Hook & Emma stuffed up Snowing’s meeting. It didn’t really take much to put Snow and Charming back on track (the main events still happened – Snow clocking Charming with something heavy causing his scar, Charming catching Snow in the net, Charming saving Snow and then Snow saving Charming) and by the end they didn’t need Hook & Emma’s help on the Troll Bridge so it can be seen that no matter what obstacles were put in their path Snow and Charming were always destined to be together. Hence that’s why I think Marion will die. I just hope not at Regina’s hand.

Participant@pom – I agree, neither Rumple and Hook are saints, but Belle does seem to have her blinkers on when it comes to Rumple. I totally agree she had reason to call Hook ‘rotten’, but in the next breath she calls Rumple’s heart ‘true’. And I would disagree with the ‘child abandoning’ accusation of Hook. Yeah, he handed Bae over to Pan, but what was he supposed to do? Bae wanted to leave. Was Hook supposed to hold him captive on his ship?
And absolutely not, Hook’s actions aren’t being whitewashed. (I don’t think tortured soul is a cast-iron excuse, as Rumple has had some horribleness in his past too) Hook has to work pretty hard at gaining the ‘good guys’ trust, Regina does too (although Snow is willing to forgive her a little more easily b/c I assume Snow knew Regina when she was good, and knows that side is in there somewhere). Hook wants to be a better person, but I’m not sure Rumple does. Case in point giving Belle a fake dagger.
In relation to people not being up in arms about Robin being with mass-murderer Regina, I think they are. There is that whole big thing about Regina killing Marion in the previous timeline and how on earth can Robin be with the woman who ‘killed’ his wife. But I guess he’s a little like Belle and is only seeing the good in her, since he hasn’t seen anything else. I assume in the EF Robin’s enemy was still the Sheriff of Nottingham, so the Evil Queen probably wasn’t on his radar much and only heard stories. And of course you shouldn’t believe rumour and gossip.
However you can probably blame Rumple for Regina since he groomed her to become proficient in Dark Magic, so Rumple is the over-riding baddie and Regina is a product of the DO’s evil. It’s all in the eye of the beholder.

ParticipantThis, absolutely agree & Belle has already spouted “facts” that were wrong…. so, yeah- she’s full of “opinions”, which SF & NF fans choose to take as fact. Besides, Hook giving up the JR is “born out of TL”, yet that doesnt automatically = they are “TL” yet
Oh no no. Apparently Hook giving up his ship is born out of pure selfishness. A sacrifice like that couldn’t possibly be true love b/c that was Hook just doing anything he could to be with the woman he loves… oh wait. 😉

ParticipantFor Emma’s story, yes I agree, because it’s been confirmed that given who she is/her nature/being the product of TL, drives her to want TL & a HEA for herself, so yes, absolutely it would be a let down not to see that fulfilled & honestly why I dont think SF were ever “TL”, by Snowing/Rumbelle/Fairy Tale standards- but for CS, I’m not worried if TLK happens or not, the story is epic without it so far
… I will dance the happy dance & fangirl to extremes if it does happen though LOL
The SF TL thing, I’m sure was all Belle’s fault, when she says the pendant was born out of true love and that’s why it apparently survived the trip back to the EF. I love that, true love = nicked from a convenience shop. Besides, when did Belle become the authority on TL? Surely that was just her opinion. How long had she actually known Neal? And did she know about the leaving Emma in jail thing? B/c the ‘stiltskin boys seem to omit a lot of information about their previous loves when they’re talking about it to Belle.

ParticipantI ended up finding and watching the first episode last night. My friend was waxing lyrical about the books and is scared to watch the show b/c she loves the books so much. However I will reserve my thoughts until I’ve watched a couple more eps as I am having a small issue with the time travelling aspect. But with most things it usually takes me a while to get into them. 🙂

ParticipantI’m in the camp that the m2m-resusc wasn’t TLK. There didn’t need to be one there (and tbh why would they slip something so important in there when there was already so much going on?) Hook’s lips were cursed, Emma touched said lips with her lips, his curse broke when it was enacted on Emma to take her magic. Zelena died, all her spells were undone (ie flying monkeys turning back into people, Emma’s magic returning) Emma didn’t want her magic to return so believed it didn’t. Therefore Hook just needed to get her to believe in herself for her magic to manifest again. No TLK req’d.
I really do like the cursed hand theory. Don’t they say the left hand is always the evil one? I seem to remember the word ‘sinister’ has something to do with the left.

ParticipantI got the rose coloured glasses from 2 places… but I assume you are referring to the Sf thread in this case? (I dont go in there & only know about some of the weird stuff they say due to 2nd hand accounts from someone/s who do have a nosy around many of threads on this site … I dont even know if they are a member or active on this site tbh, but anyway wicked
words gets back to those with burning ears one way or another lol).
Oh, dont you worry I find it hilarious that those whom enjoy the show & see it how its intended to be watched = watching through rose coloured glasses, I had a good belly laugh (followed by an intense coughing session *hate being sick*)…. if thats what they need to think to get themselves to sleep at night- good luck to them lol 😛No, I haven’t been in that thread for a while (when I have ventured in there I found it strange and nothing to do with SF weirdly enough) I’m just going off what you’ve said. But exactly, shock horror we are watching in the way the writers intended. My god, how dare we??? How dare we enjoy a show the way it was inteded to be enjoyed. They totally don’t make any sense.
I hope you feel better soon. *hugs* I had that horrible cough thing for weeks and still not over it completely.

ParticipantI’m not sure that looking through rose-tinted glasses is actually an insult in the way they mean it. Besides, so what if we are? It’s not our fault if they can’t find anything in the show to enjoy. Who cares. There are many shows I don’t like that the rest of the world seem to love. This is my little guilty pleasure. I don’t care if it’s never going to get critic accolades, becasue quite frankly a lot “critically acclaimaed” things are just boring. I’m happy to be paddling around in the shallow end enjoying a lot of eye candy.
*giggles* Wonderful, now when I hear the word ‘things’ I’ll be giggling to myself. Just like when I was watching PotC: At World’s End when they kept on referring to Elizabeth as Captain Swann. I think my housemate thought I was slightly mental.

ParticipantAww. I love that last photo! This is why I’m going to miss the hook!
I’ve been looking for the knife too and can’t find it. I think it was just something someone mentioned that they saw on set. But you’re right, how is no-one mentioning the broomstick!!!! So so intriguing. WTH does he have a broomstick?? Could it be Zelena’s?
