Maybe he was a lefty until he was forced to become right hand dominant?
I *think* that’s what happened in Peter Pan, but Killian was sword fighting with his right hand before he lost his left. (I remember specifically looking, b/c I’m sad like that 😉 )

Getting away from the blackmailing which I know is a hot topic, I saw a theory on tumblr that what if the hand Rumple gives Hook is not his real hand but an idle hand? An idle hand is a possessed hand that is prone to doing bad deeds even though the person himself is not bad.
I feel that’s something Gold would do just because he doesn’t quite trust Hook but needs an excuse if something goes wrong.
I really like that idea. And it would make sense of the pic with grazed knuckles on Hook’s left hand. As far as I know this Hook is righthanded (for obv reasons) why would he be punching with his left?

Oh I’ve heard that rumour, but I haven’t seen a pic. I’ve seen the one where he’s lying on a bench and that’s supposedly where he has the knife. I’ve read that it could be the Dark One’s dagger. But it would be interesting if he is going to use it to cut off his hand.

On a side note there is very few ways they could get that hook to look somewhat natural & not like he’s simply holding an over sized hook with his hand, in the new jacket- so logistically speaking, it really does look like Ep4 isnt just a wardrobe change, it’s also ‘hook traded back in for a hand’ episode … wonder what will come first- the clothes or the hand
lol Oh & I wonder how much Henry has to do with itI somewhat disagree. Just becasue he’s in modern gear doesn’t mean they can’t design it to accommodate the hook. That’s what costumers do. Besides, Colin’s got it down to rest his wrist on his sword hilt so it’s not as obvious his hook arm is disproportionate. It’s a move that he uses even when Killian has his hand. But I do agree that hook concealment in *that* jacket would be nigh on impossible.

^^ Yeah, that could refer to Hook. And punching him out would make sense if they weren’t on good terms. Hook seems to have a connection with Elsa. They are doing a lot of scenes together. Can’t wait to know if they knew each other beforehand. So you could be right with the defending someone’s honour.

@lady, oh yeah I get the pirate thing. But just seeing him in modern clothes and without the hook takes him definitely out of the fantasy realm. I can deal with fanatsy being evil and piratey and stuff like that, but real world villians I don’t care for.

Is is just me, or does Hook without his hook and in those leathers and in Gold’s car just seem more sinister? That might be just me. I’m thinking it’s some sort of Nega-Hook, evil!Hook from another dimension… or another time! Yeah, it’s probably not 😉
