ParticipantPretty sure Fairy Godmothers are Not, nor have ever been, in the habit of telling pirates how to off people, let-a-lone Dark One’s o.O
LOL someone needs to fic that! Perhaps friends of the that FGM that Rumpel offed gave Hook the heads up about Belle later on 😀

ParticipantOne little thing that’s been bothering me, re Hook/Emma/Killian’s little romp, it was said (on the podcast) that Hook drinking and womanising in the pub was acting out of character. Can someone please tell me how a pirate BEING A PIRATE is acting out of character?? FFS, he’s been in Neverland for YEARS I think he’s allowed to get back into the swing of his old life. I’d say he’s pretty stoked to be away from that horrible place. The argument was ‘shouldn’t he be focussed on his revenge, getting the dagger, blah blah?’ Well yes, but he’s not allowed a night off? Give him time to work out where the dagger is first! He can’t use Belle as a tool in getting revenge on the Dark One (as shown in Queen of Hearts?) if 1, he doesn’t know she’s even associated with said DO and 2, the Queen hasn’t kidnapped her yet!
Anyway, I just needed to get that off my chest 🙂

ParticipantExactly @epona_610! Having a guide would have been really helpful and since Baelfire was from the EF it would have made perfect sense to be that guide. Oh well, I guess all plot holes can come under “because magic”, which I am totally okay with because it’s a fantasy show about magic 😉

ParticipantBut if someone were already on the anti-Hook side of things, I can see citing his little discourse there as a point against him.
True enough. If you’ve already got a bee in your bonnet about a particular character *nothing* they do will ever be good enough.
Not that that compares in any way to leaving the person you claim to love to serve time in jail for your crimes because someone shows up claiming that you’re in the way of her fulfilling her destiny and then not coming back after said destiny had been fulfilled even though you swore you would…ahem.
Actually I never understood that. Why was being with Baelfire stopping her from fulfilling her destiny? Why couldn’t Neal have stayed with her and then taken her to Storybrooke when then time was right? And why was sending her to jail the thing to do? Did Neal dob her in, or was it August? And I never really like August, he seemed like a jerk. Either way, none of that made sense to me. Unless Neal really didn’t want to be saddled with her (after all, he was about to go to Canada without her).

I admit I do have to cringe at the scene in Rumpel’s old cell in “Queen of Hearts”
I agree, it’s not his best moment, I admit. But you can tell Hook was already a little taken by her in the Tallahassee ep – he was glad she was the one who volunteered to go with him; the way he bandaged her hand *swoon*; offering her his hand to take once the compass was found and they were about to leave – and her leaving him with the giant just made his heart that little bit harder. So yeah, it wasn’t a nice thing to say, but she started it 😉

ParticipantExcept for brief moments of coolness and cute grins, Neal came across, to this very male appreciative woman, as a bit of a dullard. Only in the minds of runaway fan fic and faux stardust hero worship was he anything even close to shining armor territory. I didn’t think he needed to die. I was sorry that the writers chose not to continue his story but they did connect it to Rumple’s story needs. It did serve their purpose, their story. And as viewers, we are simply a third party participant, once removed. At the mercy of their writing Gods. But, he is dead. He was already dead as a possible lover to Emma. He didn’t even spend that much real time in her life with her. Appreciate him as the adult continuation of a fascinating boy, appreciate him as a son loved by his supremely flawed father, appreciate him as a first love for a young troubled woman, appreciate him as the father of an amazingly imaginative and courageous boy who has in essence more raw courage and conviction than either of his parents! Appreciate what he brought to the bigger tale. He deserves that appreciation.
I totally agree with @bo-peeps here.
I really like Bae as a boy, he was great. But something happened to him along the way and I didn’t like Neal as much. Somehow I couldn’t quite connect Bae/Neal in my mind as being the same person.

Participant@surayya – awesome clips! I seriously love that scene. Especially when Hook does that little smoothing down of his lips with his thumb before he pursues Emma below deck. Heee! Still makes me giggle like a schoolgirl!

Participanto_O I totally didn’t see that! (probably because I was looking at Colin…) Oh wow! Man, people really do have eagle-eyes!!
Edit: Ohh and Hook did say kidnapping a prince sounds like something he would do. It’s not a far step to princess. Perhaps there is a princess in there…

ParticipantEveryone was too busy rewatching the rewatching of our Captain’s well earned lip locks
I was thinking that too. 😉 Besides as Pan said, it’s a lot easier to get people to hate something, therefore a lot easier to complain about. We haven’t had much to complain about at all 😀
