But it makes me wonder if Zelena somehow tricked Hook into doing something back in the EF that he is ashamed of and THAT is really the big thing he doesn’t want anyone to know about.
I’d had a similar thought about Hook knowing Zelena in the EF, and that he hadn’t seen her in SB until she deceived him as Ariel. But that reveal of her knowing his ‘dirty little secret’ seemed like the first conversation they’d ever had. And that particular secret was the only thing she had on him and she’s now played that card. I’m sure she would have gloated over him if she had managed to make him do something in the EF he was ashamed of. Zelena is a definitely gloating kind of a gal.

ellemo78ParticipantThe way I look at it, if Hook was meant to be a long term villain when introduced, then why bother compare and contrast him with Emma’s past relationship with Neal two episodes later?Agreed- CS was intended to happen from the get go IMO.
Well until they realised they liked Colin. 🙂 On the commentary on season 2 one of the writers/producers (can’t think of his name) pretty much said if the actor they got for Hook wasn’t any good they wouldn’t have kept him around – so I think since they found an actor they liked the story arc may have diverted a little. Like A&E saying they woke Charming up early in the pilot b/c they liked Josh so much.
On the Neal thing, at the hospital when Hook said Neal would have done the same thing, I always thought Hook looked a little shifty in that scene. But whether it was him hiding something, or him just being awkward b/c of Emma, I don’t know.

ellemo78Participantsurayya – Sweet, thanks for tech update 🙂 I was trying to sneakily post from work and didn’t want to fuss around with code cos it took me ages to get the spoiler one to work this morning.
But ooh yes! Everything seems to be happening around the 9 month mark, they keep telling us so often. So Zelena’s spies really were working overtime and she was quick off the mark to get pet!Walsh over to NY.
Also cute clip, I had a good giggle 🙂

ellemo78Participantrumplegoldfan – “…but if you had to sacrifice the THING you loved most Hook would be perfect because of the Jolly Roger. Maybe it’s just some kind of major sacrifice that is required.”
I’m totally with you with Hook sacrificing the JR. That’s a pretty good reason to why it’s not in SB and why he’s not wanting to talk about it. I’m sure his crew wouldn’t be very happy he sacrificed what is essentially their home as well.
surayya – “At this point I think the memories & who comes along is entirely up to the caster (based on the rules/ in show dialog we already have. Ie Regina choosing who comes & doesnt, the fact Rumple was able to remember everything once he heard Emma’s name, the fact Regina was surprised at how meek Snow was, but not surprised she didnt seem to know her), Time being at a stand still & the town hidden.”
That was my impression of the curse too. Basically it would take you to a LWM, but you could tailor it to suit the caster, just as Pan was going to do. So I would assume all the ingredients need to be the same.

ellemo78ParticipantI can’t get the quote button to work…
surayya – “Hmmm Beside if it was objects that could be used, why wouldnt have Rumple cast the curse using Baes shawl/wrap thingy, instead of going about grooming Regina to be a twisted psycho in order to get her to cast it.”
Exactly. I remember Rumple saying it couldn’t be just like a favourite horse either. The curse specifically requests a heart, doesn’t it? So unless the JR is truly ‘more than just a ship’ and she has more than a metaphorical heart, I don’t think it would work in that way. But who knows. Anything seems to be possible 😉

ellemo78Participant@surayya “Oh, Oh,Oh- Just had another thought- JR is made from enchanted wood right?! Well what if Killy sacrificed the JR to have a portal made from it in which he could get to Emma?”
I had that thought too. But I’ve been thinking he may have burnt his ship to get the ashes to use in Lake Nostos a la the way Emma and MM got home in season 2.
I have a couple small problemettes with Hook casting the curse. 1 – why wouldn’t he just told the others that what he did, unless they all agreed from some reason to keep it a secret. 2 – I don’t think the JR is good enough for a sacrifice and who else does he have that he loves, apart from Emma. And Rumple had always said it had to the be thing/person you love most. And after the event with Ariel and Eric he may have lost his love for the JR a little bit. 3 – if Hook was part of the curse, his wardrobe would have updated. Surely! Even when Regina cast the curse her wardrobe modernised. And She told Hook (when he was going to look for a green-skinned lady) that she would look the same as everyone else in SB. Hook in pirate garb does not look the same as anyone else.
But I do like the idea of all of them getting together a deciding a curse was the best way to get back to Emma – not sure who cast it though. And since memry loss is ‘just what the curse does’ they weren’t sure of the consquences, so they made sure somone went on ahead to give Emma the message.

ellemo78ParticipantI’m curious to that little moment between Hook and Emma coming out of Regina’s house. Was it just me thinking he was about to take her arm to help guide her down the stairs and she gave him a look of ‘what are you doing’?
Also on the hook thing, my only thought is that if they give Killian back his hand, then he is no longer Cpt Hook and I think that takes too much away from him as a fairy tale character. Having said that, if he truly becomes something more than a pirate the hook is going to get awkward. But I do like the idea of him keeping it and getting out when he needs to rely on his piratey skills. Or perhaps it will serve as a reminder of the man he no longer wants to be, much in the same way as Rumple and his cane.

ellemo78ParticipantLOLOLOLOLOL!!! OMG! If you wanna laugh out loud, then you HAVE to watch this crack vid of The Jolly Roger….
That is hilarious! Thank you, I needed that 😀

ellemo78Participant@HappyEndings – I would like them to go to the EF…I really want to see fish-out-of-water-Emma. JMo was hilarious in the S2 when she and Snow were in the EF – particularly when they’re sitting around and eating and she’s sniffing everything first. Ok, I’m so glad you posted the Hook & uh, his hook pics, @Surayya! I was thinking about those two scenes. It’s so subtle but Hook’s actions in the two are incredible – and just one more thing that shows the audience how much he’s come to care about Henry as an individual. Ok, and I have a question for @PriceofMagic – or any other of the Brits – who else is from the UK? I was talking about this in chat but I don’t think we had anyone who could answer. So, as we know Colin does not use his real accent as Hook – to the American ear, it sounds pretty British – but what does it sound like to an actual Brit? Is it a good accent or is it like Anna Paquin – a Canadian doing a not-so-great Southern accent? And why don’t they have Colin use his real accent??? An Irish Hook!!!
I’ve been thinking about that. I don’t see why he can’t use his natural accent. I’m not British but occasionally I’ve heard an Irish twang – for want of a better word. Also, I though Anna Paquin was a New Zealander, unless she’s been living in Canada for so long she lost her Kiwi accent.

ellemo78ParticipantVery emotional! Speaking of songs, I came across this little gem yesterday, it’s cute and I thought quite apt.
That was a cute song. Who sings it? I thought it was very apt for Hook.
It’s by a singer called Appleonia, it’s called “Lost At Sea”.
