ParticipantSo I saw a fanfiction prompt on tumblr saying that Emma doesn’t wear Graham’s shoelace and the swan necklace anymore. I don’t think I’ve been paying attention much to notice, so is that really true?
I think (don’t quote me) Emma gave the necklace to Henry in that deleted scene, after the funeral, after the boat trip with Killian, when they were chatting about Neal. I have a feeling she hasn’t worn it since. I don’t know about the shoelace. But that’s easier to hide under long sleeves. But I would have thought it was obvious that if you were dressing up to go out on a date you wouldn’t wear a dirty old shoelace around your wrist (regardless of it’s meaning), or a necklace that reminds you of trust issues with a previous lover.

ParticipantActually I have a question (might as well ask it here), did Elsa overhear what Hook and Rumple were saying re fake dagger? I know Hook raised his voice to get her attention, but it’s not like it’s a big shop. So would Elsa chat to Emma about what they did/Hook offered to get information from Rumple?

ParticipantI’m with you @surayya, I’m trying to wean myself off spoilers, but I can’t seem to do it, especially after watching the promo. I totally understand how Rumple can’t give up his magic, hehee 😉
I also liked Killian & Elsa’s interaction. I think they’d make good friends even if it weren’t for Emma. I think they played off each other quite well when Elsa said she wasn’t going to sit around the sheriff’s station and Killian’s response was pretty much “well, DUH”. I can see Emma being very protective of both of them, since having a functional romantic relationship AND friendship are both new to her – and the two of them essentially patting her on the head and doing what they feel they must to keep Emma safe and protected.
I’m really loving their dynamic too. I hope they get a lot more scenes together. Maybe I’m imagining it (maybe projecting), but I’m seeing similarities between Hook and Kristoff, in terms of how they interact with Elsa. Elsa seem quite comfortable now around both Hook and Emma – is she seeing Anna and Kristoff in them? – considering last week the thought of new people made Elsa go all ice crazy, now she’s all friendly and seemingly quite content. I find Hook’s way with Elsa quite brotherly too – he stuck up for her when Regina had a go at her for the Snow Monster; they have a lack of technology bond; Hook wasn’t being all flirty with her, his ‘charming pirate’ line was delivered in humour. (I love it when he descends into his cockney accent!) And I would love to see a platonic relationship between a man and woman done well to prove that they can be friends and not everything has to have an underlying sexual tension.

ParticipantI quite like the look they’re going for with Emma. The other two dates we’ve seen her on were very different. The first was work, she was in predator mode so she needed to look like a knock-out stunner to catch the guy. (I saw a show the other day that did an experiment on proving that men’s metal capacity goes down after talking to an attractive women, and it did heheheee). The second was a date with a man she’d been going out with for 8 months, she was already quite confident in her feelings for Walsh at that time. Also I got the impression she’d just come from work that time as well, so again perhaps needed the knock-out stunner look. There’s no need to attract Killian, he’s already well attracted, hence the toned down just nice looking pretty thing to wear, she can just be herself for a change. And it works well with/against Killian’s black leather. Yes and although I’m loathe to admit it, it is very Grease.
Ohhh that top photo with the rose is so sweet. Did you see the one of Charming with his arm crossed looking all ‘you better not hurt my daughter or I will break you.” I love him in daddy mode. It’s just beautifully pointless but he’s still going to try and protect his little girl.

ParticipantHook made a deal with Rumple in exchange for his silence so now Hook can’t break it.
Did they establish terms though? I thought maybe he bought his silence for that day or something. I don’t know; I just figured that’s how he’d get his hand back in the next episode. And then I like the theory that Rumple’s mad so he gives him back the hand but he curses it with alien hand syndrome or something. I must say though, I loved seeing their confrontation! And according to the pictures, we’ll be getting a lot more scenes with those two.
I just wonder how long he’ll have his hand back for, since we’ve seen more pictures later with the hook returned. But that just makes Rumple seem extra creepy, that he’s hanging on to body parts. Ew.
And yes, I too loved seeing Hook with the cell phone–how adorable is it that the only thing he bothers to do with it is “press the Emma button”?
I’ve been wondering about the length of the deal too. The deal (to me) was Hook’s silence was for Rumple’s help, I wonder how far Hook can stretch that ‘help’. And is that how he gets his hand back, due to the general ‘help’ Rumple has made a deal for? Oh I just had a thought, if it’s a deal between them (rather than blackmail) maybe Hook losing his hand later on is him breaking the deal.
And good point, why on earth did he hang onto his hand? Is there a reason, or did he think it might come in handy one day? No pun intended. In any case bring on more Rumple and Hook I say. Those two are awesome and I think quite good to have that underlying mistrust between them but grudgingly working together.

ParticipantHe didn’t just ask Rumple for help because Rumple told him prior to the blackmailing that “unless you have something to offer me, I’m afraid I can be no further help.” Rumple was not going to just help Hook. That’s not how the Dark One works. Plus, blackmail might not be the most honorable method, but Rumple really only has himself to blame for getting himself in this dagger swapping mess.
Except Rumple also said that he was turning over a new leaf, whether or not he is, is beside the point. The point is: ask first. Have Elsa ask, have Emma ask, have Charming ask, have Henry ask…someone that Rumple is less inclined to say no to. Or go to Belle. Tell her what’s going down, and she’ll ask Rumple to help.
I think Rumple has pretty much made his feelings clear about helping anyone associated with the Charmings. And didn’t David ask him last week and he flat out refused? And just because Belle might be on side with helping that still doesn’t mean she can talk him around. He is his own man with his own agenda. He obviously knew the Snow Queen was in town, he went to talk to her later on. He was sending Hook and Elsa on a merry chase. He could have said, oh this is Ice Cream Lady’s magic, but he didn’t.
There wasn’t much to the blackmail imo. I saw it more as a deal (which is what Hook offered in the end) Now, how far that deal to help extends and how much Hook can trip himself up with it I guess we’ll find out.

ParticipantI’m of the same opinion that *if* Anna trapped Elsa in the urn it was either accident or she was told it would save her life – something along those lines. I don’t think Anna would ever turn on Elsa. The Snow Queen seems a bit of a sneaky biscuit so I wouldn’t trust her with the truth.
Also why is Elsa not asking where Kristoff is?
My guess, since she seems to have lost her memories of quite a time, I think she’s still in the mindset of looking for Anna after she went to the EF. I’m assuming the last memories Elsa has were of her and Kristof in Arendelle waiting for Anna to come back, so she might think he’s safe (with Sven). Or, she’s just extra worried for Anna because she’s family and the person who helps her control her magic.

ParticipantThings I loved about this episode (aka things that made me smile, grin or giggle like a schoolgirl):
1. Emma telling Killian to ‘do as he’s told for once’ – lol
2. Killian using the mobile!
3. Elsa and Killian’s heart to heart in the forest.
4. Killian standing up to Rumple (oh yeah I cheered!)
5. Emma and David being so stupid they let Will out of their sight.
6. Regina plunging her hand through the ice to get Marian’s heart.
7. Emma’s magic worked!!! Saving the men she loves and all that, who would have thought 😉
8. You know what, how about I just write EVERYTHING!!! 😀 Just everything!I have things to do but I medically need to watch that episode again. As much as I liked last week’s (esp in terms of CS) I think this one was even better.
And the promo!!! She asked him!!! Emma asked Killian out. That’s fantastic. I think that’s the thing I am most happy about.

ParticipantSOoooooooo very confused now …
Scene # 1: Emma and Elsa leaving Gold’s shop and holding Anna necklace
Scene # 2: Emma and Elsa entering the library
Scene # 3: Emma, Elsa, Anna and Kristoff running and entering Granny’s dinner
Scene # 4: Gold and Hook entering the dinner while holding a blue pointy hat
Scene # 5: Mr. Gold and Belle talking in front of Gold’s shop, Belle gives him an object we know well (the dagger), they hug before parting. When she returned to the store, Gold cast a spell on it and then Hook gave him something (the round box that we saw in episode 4×01?)
Scene # 6: filmed at the docks and involved Gold and Hook but was completely inaccessiblehttp://hookier.tumblr.com/post/99653095319/ouat-filming-10-09-14-scenes-description-and-big
So, is Killian under Rumple’s control, are they working together, is Rumple under Killy’s control Or is Killian under SnowQueen control……
Very intriguing. But anything that puts Colin O’Donoghue and Robert Carlyle in scenes together is alright by me! And by the looks of we’ll be getting quite a few this season 😀

ParticipantI’m really not sure how much gender is a factor here in the Hook hate. Swan Queen fans hate him because he’s with Emma, Swan Fire hate him because he’s with Emma. If Emma was a lesbian and with a woman, I don’t know, I feel like the hate would be equal because Emma’s with someone who isn’t their favorite. I could be wrong, maybe it would be less because Once would be showing LGBT love story. I don’t know.
You’re right, gender probably doesn’t come into in in terms of who Emma is with, she’s getting hate from all corners. Even if Hook didn’t end up with Emma, he’s still seems to be a divisive character, more so than anyone else.
And the amount of hate Jen gets on twitter on a daily basis for ‘shipping CS and being happy for her character, is truly disgusting. I’ll take the tea incident because that’s the most recent as well as the most ridiculous fight ever. People were getting upset on twitter because Jen made a comment that she wanted to buy a Captain Swan flavored tea. I’m like, really? You’re getting bent out of shape over a tea blend? On a site where you can make your own tea blend?
One of the nastier comments I read was that someone hoped Hook would give Emma an STD. You don’t make snide or joking remarks like that, even when it’s about a fictional character. It’s really poor taste.
I know, right? It’s not like some major tea corporation endorsed CS! And then there was that whole thing with Yvette Nicole Brown, which led to her and Jen getting attacked on Twitter and YNB saying that she wasn’t going to live tweet the episodes anymore. And that’s a shame, because I enjoyed her commentary.
And yeah, I’ve seen a variety of disturbing comments like that. It’s like some people just can’t separate actors and characters (I see that a lot on Twitter). And it usually comes across as an unpleasant combination of rude and creepy. I don’t know if this came up here or not, but it was going around on Tumblr–another one of those “open letter” things, this time to Jen. (Here‘s a link if any of you are as morbidly curious as I was, lol.)
I was morbidly curious and I shouldn’t have been. It just reads like a temper tantrum. You can’t please everyone, someone’s always going to be disappointed with who Emma ends up with, but the visceral hate for a TV show/character is just astounding. And just to put it out there, I don’t particularly like Outlander, but I’m not writing vicious letters to the writers/author/actors to demand they change it to suit my tastes.
