I agree with Faux Pas. There’s only one medallion.
I don’t think Regina lost her memories because if she had forgotten Jefferson, then how would she have remembered the hat in the first place? I think she was just being extra careful. She doesn’t want Emma to know too much especially about someone like Jefferson. They could be very powerful against the queen. At first, I thought she forgot, but upon rewatch I decided otherwise. Initially I had thought that the curse was reversing on her and erasing her memories since she had previously been unaffected. However, I don’t think that is the case anymore.[adrotate group="5"]ellieusaParticipantSo obviously Dr. Whale is from a different land? The comment to Charming that you are not my prince, and charming’s question of “who are you?” puts before us the idea that Dr. Whale isn’t from around here.
That’s what I thought at first, but then I realized, how would Whale know that Charming was a prince if he wasn’t from FTL. I think he was just saying that he did not bow to him. There are many kingdoms in FTL.
I just came up with a theory, thanks to Phee’s comments.Perhaps Whale’s real persona was a recluse, so not many people saw him. Or maybe he was in a different form, so no one recognises him now.
We have heard that the fairy tale characters are their opposites in Storybrooke. We also know that if characters took on a different form in FTL (like Jiminy) then they are in their human form in Storybrooke unless they were specifically trapped in a certain form like Maleficent. Maybe the characters don’t recognize him because he was in a different form. I don’t think he was an animal. I think he might be some type of creepy hermit magic man type character. I also think that Regina was the one to change his form. I think at one point he was an attractive man who had everything going for him and Regina took that all away and turned him into an ugly man-like creature of some sort. maybe a troll. but a troll that has some sort of power like hermits in fairy tales have. I’m thinking maybe like the bridgekeeper in Monty Python and the Holy Grail. I don’t mean to say he is that character, but rather a character of that sort. I need help with this theory to connect it to an actual fairy tale character and to make connections to the name whale. Does anyone have any ideas?
ellieusaParticipantI think the time thing is throwing everything off. When the wraith comes into FTL, it goes after Philip. Mary Margaret and Emma came in at the same time, but are left in the wreckage. Then, the rest of the FTL story starts. Technically, most of what we saw in FTL was a flashforward. We just didn’t know it until the end of the episode.
ellieusaParticipantI think this will clear all the problems up:
It was Aurora’s mother they were talking about.
When Rumpelstiltskin summoned the wraith, he gave it the amulet. It had it around its neck. When Emma, Mary Margaret, and the wraith were sucked into FTL, the amulet either fell or was cut off his neck. It was the same wraith. Philip was marked by it, and the wraith, being a world away from Regina, went after Philip. Correct me if I’m wrong, but didn’t his soul get sucked into the amulet. I remember thinking that, but I can’t picture it. If that’s the case it would explain why the wraith had the amulet.
Also, I think the hat has the ability to change not only space, but time, which is how they were able to get the apple.
ellieusaParticipantI think time was just frozen. No one aged except Henry, which is why Henry was so eager to accept the curse theory and why he has trouble making friends and has to go to therapy etc. No one noticed they weren’t aging because they were all affected by the curse except Henry. The thoughts of age or how people knew each or prior history didn’t occur to them because of the curse.
ellieusaParticipantHi!
I just wanted to give a personal welcome to you as a fellow Ellie. As you can see I’m from the US. However, I was studying abroad when Once Upon A Time premiered in the UK and I saw it there, so we are connected in 2 ways! I miss Graham, too, though I don’t ship Gremma. I can’t wait for the season to come back. I know it won’t be in the UK for you yet, but look on the bright side, you get Downton Abbey and Sherlock way before me!
