As far as my reaction to Emma’s sulky behaviour, I am suspecting the writer’s are setting her up to refuse or relinquish her role as the saviour….too much pain and sorrow for her to bear alone?

I still believe in Swanfire…..as in….it’s a given after watching last night’s episode. Why do I think this is so, cannot articulate, only FEEL that AE and writers had a plan, it is coming to ‘light’ with all the references pointing to Swanfire, thanks to the believers….DSB…..you rule.
It does appear Hook’s credibility is falling apart (as well as CS) as the writers have written it but I also believe Hook’s character is redeemed by end of 322.

Is it only me or did anyone notice how sulky Emma was behaving. I am truly surprised Emma didn’t want Henry to remember his life in SB. MM /Snow also was hurt that Emma didn’t seem happy to return to her parents and her home. I really, really, really don’t like where this is going, especially after watching tonight’s episode. Why are the writers showing Emma as reluctant to help her family overcome this latest threat. It’s her family, they love her. Is this not what Emma wished for in 101? I need breathing space.

It could be an error on the writer’s part with the Neal / Hook exchange regarding the message Neal sent, because it sure seemed Hook knew Neal sent the message. Regardless, it does appear the writer’s are casting more than a lip curse for Hook. His credibility is slowing sinking.

In 315, the hospital scene, didn’t Neal say thank you to Hook for giving Emma the message to return to SB? So, hook knew the message was from Neal…….which means Hook lied in 319 when he said he didn’t know who sent the message. Not looking good for Mr. Hook.

Love reading Swanfire forum. Many interesting theories and possibilities to share with one another. In catching up, the Phoenix analogy caught my attention. I googled Phoenix and found this old website called “Of Myth and Mud”, a drama about mythology.
This is the description of Phoenix under glossary:
“Ovid tells the story of the Phoenix as follows: “Most beings spring from other individuals; but there is a certain kind which reproduces itself. The Assyrians call it the Phoenix. It does not live on fruit or flowers, but on frankincense and odoriferous gums. When it has lived five hundred years, it builds itself a nest in the branches of an oak, or on the top of a palm tree. In this it collects cinnamon, and spikenard, and myrrh, and of these ‘materials builds a pile on which it deposits itself, and dying, breathes out its last breath amidst odours. From the body of the parent bird, a young Phoenix issues forth, destined to live as long a life as its predecessor. When this has grown up and gained sufficient strength, it lifts its nest from the tree (its own cradle and its parent’s sepulcher), and carries it to the city of Heliopolis in Egypt, and deposits it in the temple of the Sun.” (Bulfinch’s Mythology)
I’m not theorizing anything, it’s meant to be fun!
In this description, there was quite a few things that I found fascinating, such as:
– the Phoenix lives 500 years (Neal/Baelfire is 300 years old)
– it builds a nest nest on the brances of an oak (there is an oak tree next to the enchanted well)
– from the body of the parent bird….(Emma separated Neal from his father’s body)
– it collects cinnamon !!!!……RG I thought of you , and also the tent dwellers o)
Reading this Phoenix myth gave me comfort, as I still yearn for the return of a beloved TV character, Baelfre/Neal. I am an adult female, healthy mind and body and lover of fairytales……..who still believes………

Have we seen Mulan? I’m wondering if it was Aurora who cast the curse, using Mulan’s heart. Very, very preposterous…… IF!!!
Perhaps Aurora secretly reciprocated Mulan’s love even though Aurora loved Philip as well. With the threat of Zelena harming their baby, Aurora was desperate to protect her unborn child at whatever cost.

I’ve been catching up on my favourite forum SWANFIRE! My Mom hasn’t been well. Touch and go for a while. Her feistiness has returned, so all is good :o)
Lots of interesting speculations, and to my quietly contained joy, reading different theories on Neal/Baelfire un-demise!
Is it my stubbornness, or my refusal to accept the A & E and writers wanted to remove Nealfire’s relevance to OUAT, or my naivete. Or maybe I am not falling for A & E’s pseudo attempts to divert the fans from the bombshell finale…Nealfire’s return and other revelations.
I’m going with my gut feelings that AE & company never really intended to extinguish such a vital character as Nealfire. His very existence is central to OUAT original premise. He has come to be the heartbeat of love, honour, devotion to family, overcoming fears, selfless acts, and an unwavering belief he will see Emma and Henry.
HE WILL!

Sounds plausible to me.
Have you noticed Hook’s demeanour in the hospital scene with Neal. For me, that was a good-bye hug! Hook’s hesitant wording spoke volumes, as if he KNEW Neal’s fate! If this is true, and Emma found out…….does not bode well at all for Hook. How did Hook know about Neal’s fate? Did he and Zelena know each other, strike a deal in FTL?
IMO the writer’s wrote Hook to behave in a suspicious manner – he’s apprehensive, wary, dodgy, cautious of how he replies unless he reveals a secret or the truth about the missing year. Are we supposed to question Hook’s reliability? Hook doesn’t appear afraid of Zelena in their interactions from 318. Hmmmmmm.

Today I purchased a DVD set called “Merlin” for my nephews’ birthday. Merlin was a British TV series a few years ago. My nephew thinks OUAT is nothing compared to Merlin. We agreed to disgree 🙂
You all know how I believe Baelfire is not gone, that I believe the writers are preparing for a dramatic finale to season 3, that involves Baelfire.
I wonder if anyone from these forums have mentioned Merlin or if A & E might consider introducing Merlin to OUAT and in what capacity. After all, Merlin is a wizard, he was part of the Camelot legend, same as Lancelot and The Lady of the Lake.
There are many possibilities from the Camelot legendary characters that could be integrated into OUAT and its developing plot line for the remainder of season 3 and/or season 4, and especially be part of re-uniting SWANFIRE. (whispers please)
Here are a few possibilities and interesting storylines:
Baelfire was a Knight of King Arthur’s court and a friend of Lancelot (remember how Nealfire handled a sword).
Baelfire was a protege of Merlin.
Merlin knows about the the Dark One or they could have met.
Merlin knew Cora. Merlin might be Zelena’s father.
If these have already been introduced or mentioned, please accept my apologies for not giving credit where credit is due. I confess I don’t read all the posts.
