@surayya  That thing is freaking hilarious–I love how often I pop into this thread and just crack up! (Of course, that’s not always a good thing…like when I’m bored and check on my phone and probably cause people in the immediate vicinity to question my sanity. But it’s worth it.) 😉

I hope that person makes a whole series of those; I’m sure there’s lots more material out there!

Okay, usually when I say “lol”, I don’t literally laugh out loud. That line about Neal being a lukewarm tater tot, however, completely cracked me up. Of course I felt a little bad about it, but…yeah.

Also, on that same subject…I don’t understand the “you just like him because he’s hot” argument at all. Judging by the pictures, comments, etc., lots of the SF shippers seem to find Neal quite attractive as well. I mean, not everyone finds the exact same people attractive, “eye of the beholder” and all that.

@PriceofMagic Exactly! I don’t get the hate either…and the sad thing is, I’m realizing that this is retroactively making me really dislike Neal. I mean, because of reasons already mentioned several times, I never thought he was a great guy. But I did like seeing him with Henry, Rumpel, and some of the others too (although I don’t know if I was ever really able to buy Neal and Baelfire as the same person for some reason). But seeing all the hate from Neal fans toward not just the characters of Hook and, to some extent Emma, but also toward the writers and creators of the show, it’s hard not to associate that hate with the character of Neal, which I think is a real shame.

Someone asked Sarah Bolger about this on Twitter, and she replied that he was “building the crib”. Perhaps he found that just as challenging as Emma and Charming did? 😛

Not sure what the issue is with the quoing, but @Bo-Peeps re: Rhett Butler:

Ah, that would be perfect! I’m a huge fan of that book–not that I expect (or want, since it wouldn’t really fit) to see Gone with the Wind on OUAT, but I could totally see that. But it looks like the ending of this love story should be happier–Hook didn’t give up on Emma at just the moment when she realized how much she loved him. (Although I always imagined Scarlett succeeding in getting him back eventually… ;-))

I would think that peasants wouldn’t know the same dances as wealthy people…but heck, what do I know? It’s hard to try to look anything up anyway since we don’t have real dates to work with or anything. Although I think I need to rewatch “Good Form”, or perhaps just all of 3A, lol. It’s lucky that the rest of my family is so far behind on OUAT that we have the entire third season still on the DVR. 😉

As for the True Love thing…I think I had a vague theory, but it all gets befuddled by the fairy dust showing Regina her TL. Because if that was before Robin even met Marian, then either those two (Robin and Marian) weren’t TL or it’s possible to have two TLs/soul mates out there at once. It’s tough to say!

I’ve wondered that too, how much Emma and her family know about his past. (I’ve also wondered whether Emma knows about Milah and why exactly he and Rumpel hate(d?) each other so much.) And for that matter, I’m curious about his past as well. He said his father was a fugitive and abandoned him, but if presumably he did have to have come from some sort of noble family to be a Naval officer, how did that work? I’d love to see more information about that, although I don’t think it’s likely unless it has some relevance to whatever is going on in present-day Storybrooke. Gah, looking forward to next season so much!

Now I think it makes sense when that report came out that the Jolly Roger was being dismantled.  It’s because we don’t need to see it anymore and Killian’s done with that part of his life.

It it also makes sense for his character arc too because he let go of his revenge and his first love and he gave up his home for a new home with Emma.

Aw, it was dismantled? That’s so sad! I kinda wanted them to get it back somehow, but even if that wasn’t going to happen, I was still hoping for some more flashbacks. Now I’d like to see him get a fancy modern sailboat and teach Emma and Henry to sail…not that that would exactly be relevant to the plot. 😛

I never understood that either–wouldn’t it be easier for her to fulfill her destiny if she had someone with her, guiding her or whatever? Isn’t that what August/Pinocchio was supposed to do when he went through the wardrobe anyway? I think A&E have said something like “he didn’t have any choice”, so maybe I’m missing something, but I would think that if you really loved someone you wouldn’t let some guy talk you into abandoning them. And of course he didn’t go after her either when he knew he could. Even if he really didn’t have any choice in leaving the first time, that choice speaks volumes.

Another random-but-related thing I’ve never understood: why on earth would that typewriter in a box with one sentence typed on a piece of paper do more to convince Neal than August just saying ” I know you’re Baelfire.” Either way, it seemed way too easy to convince Neal to leave. I know they only have so much time per episode, but still…

@ellemo78  (I’d quote your response but I can’t seem to get it to work!) Yeah, I agree–he was pretty clearly hurt and lashing out. I’d be pretty mad too if someone I’d thought I was working with turned around and left me with a giant up a beanstalk! Not that I can really blame her either after juxtaposing those events with the huge betrayal she’d suffered in the past.

But if someone were already on the anti-Hook side of things, I can see citing his little discourse there as a point against him. Not that that compares in any way to leaving the person you claim to love to serve time in jail for your crimes because someone shows up claiming that you’re in the way of her fulfilling her destiny and then not coming back after said destiny had been fulfilled even though you swore you would…ahem.
