Despite what others may think, I actually think Belle is a very strong young woman. She sacrificed herself to save her village and family from the Ogre Wars. She was brave enough to stand up to Rumpel when he pulled away from her out of fear. And after spending 28 years locked in a tiny room, she was able to control her feelings of hatred for Regina, as well as Rumpel’s. I admire her and think she’s a very strong female character. But due to the lack of screentime she’s received this season, it’s difficult to see that.
You know, I agree. I know some people like to fault Belle for being too weak or not proactive enough. But given the horrible way she’s been treated all her life, of course she’s going to be taken advantage of. But the few times where she has shown strength, it’s been rather striking. Giving up her freedom to secure the freedom of her villagers, trying to help Rumpel reform his dark ways, having faith in Ruby. All of these things should be commended. Not everyone would have the courage to do these things.
I completely agree. Strength can be found in various different outlets. A sword, a bow and arrow, standing up for someone, being loyal to the one you love, defending your friends and family, or sacrificing yourself for the good of others. The last example fits Belle’s perfectly. A lot of people don’t give her credit for giving herself up to Rumpel for her village. It was a very brave and selfless thing to do.

I’m not sure the dagger ever CAN be destroyed…..
Has it ever been hinted that it could ?The dagger is what makes someone The Dark one. And there must be a dark one, atleast I believe there must. But maybe he can get rid of the curse in some other way than dying, perhabs somehow pass it on too somebody else, or what would be cool, would be if the dagger could be sealed in stone for later, in a way like the sword in the stone from the Arthurian myths.
True love kiss. As we saw in “Skin Deep,” true love’s kiss has the power to reverse the Dark One’s curse.

I like your theory. I doubt Neal has cleaned up his act, so it’d probably fit. It’s interesting to think about, that’s for sure.
I don’t know, he looked mighty spiffy in his opening scene in “Broken.” And he’s working with August to help with the curse, so I think he’s cleaned up his act. Or at the very least, some of his act.

Such a great way to wrap up the first half of the season. It felt a little rushed, but I prefer that as oppose to the slow pace that we’ve been travelling up until now.
Favorite Scenes: Regina saving Snow and Emma. Mr. Gold and Regina teaming up again. Belle’s scene with Captain Hook. Cora failing to rip out Emma’s heart. Snow using the squid ink to break down the cell bars. Mr. Gold telling Emma how powerful she was. Captain Hook’s “women on their back” line. 😆 And the family reunion at the end of the episode.
Least Favorite Scenes: Basically everything with Mulan and Aurora. What a watse of potential. They’re not even coming to Storybrooke. 🙁
eternalflameParticipantWHOA. I was not expecting any of that! 😮 The good news about this scene is that it solves an awful lot of problems. For one, Belle won’t fall for any of Hook’s tricks when he arrives in Storybrooke. And two, we’ll learn why Hook decided to ally himself with Cora. I think Regina and Hook were brief alies, but split up after some sort of betrayal. I’m going to say that the betrayal was on Regina’s part given the fact that I doubt she wanted to kill Rumpel. He has the curse and they have a strange love/hate alliance going on. So, I don’t think the alliance between Hook and Regina will last very long. So, Hook may end up having a slight vendetta against Regina as well.

eternalflameParticipant^OMG! That’s great! Thanks for posting! 😀
I’m guessing Belle goes to Archie for some therapy.
eternalflameParticipantI think Mr. Gold just wanted to keep his distance for a while. Belle hadn’t regained her memories yet, so he probably didn’t want to creep her out by being too touchy feely. She seemed a little confused in their first reunion scene when Mr. Gold hugged her, so he probably wanted to respect her personal space until she regained her memories.

There are two doors that look very Oz-like. I wonder why there are two? ❓
I noticed that too. Are there any other worlds or dimensions that are associated by the color green other than Oz? Maybe we’re missing something. Hmmm…
Leprechauns? 😆
