Until it’s confirmed by the show, I’ll assume that Bae is his. Those comments were made by the evil knights who took innocent children to war and who beat Rumpel in front of his son. I’m not sure if they’re completely reliable. And the Dark One was only taunting Rumpel so that he would stab him with the dagger. I think RC even gave an interview confirming that’s what happened. They were just taunting him.
I also highly doubt that Rumpel killed Bae’s mother. The man was too afraid to fight in a war, so I don’t really see him killing his wife. Pre-Dark One Rumpel wasn’t the fighting kind at all.

eternalflameParticipantI think the main factor in making the new magic work is that you have to have true love in your life. Emma has that with Henry, Snow has Charming, and Rumpel has Belle and Bae. Regina is the only one who will probably not be able to use it. All the people she loved are dead. I think this new magic won’t require much skill or effort because the main ingredient is love.

That was the problem I had with the finale. All Emma had to do was just touch the book and then BAM. It was very dues ex machina. But then again, the writers probably did that because they spent so much timing having Emma not believe that they didn’t have enough time in the finale for a more long drawn-out explanation for it.

I think the final scene did show that Rumpel was completely power hungry and that was it. I think the scene with Belle felt very unrealistic. And i think it very unlikely that the opening episode of season 2 is going to be a Rumpel episode. And i doubt there are spoilers about that because the actors don’t even know. And they really need to do first meetings with Emma, Snow, Charming, and Henry.
It may very well be. The big cliffhanger was about Rumpel and him bringing magic into the world. If they don’t address that in the season premiere, then what’s the point of having it as the cliffhanger? And I’m not sure is a family reunion is more important than having an entire world transformed from a land without magic to a land with magic.
eternalflameParticipantI learned that true love is extremely dangerous in the hands of a powerful man.

I also think it was part of his plan to get “tricked” by Cinderella and company. If you watch the scene in The Price of Gold, he seems to know she is trying to capture him using magic. I think somehow being in the prison preserved some of his memories as the curse was enacted. Not sure how, but I think it blocked some of the memory wiping properties of the curse.
Yeah, he didn’t seem the least bit concerned about getting caught. But then again, he probably knew that the curse was well on its way and that it didn’t matter what happeend to him. He’ll become a completely different person once the curse takes a effect anyway, so why worry?
eternalflameParticipantI’ve been thinking. Since the magic Mr. Gold brought into our world was created from true love, most of the characters on the show will be able to use it. Emma (because of her love for Henry), Snow and Charming, and even Rumpel (because of his love for Belle and Baelfire). Regina however, may be the only one left out. Regina’s true love, Daniel, is dead and she killed the only other person who she really loved: Her father, Henry. Yes, she has little Henry, but since the writers chose to have Emma’s kiss revive Henry, I think that was confirmation that Regina’s kiss probably wouldn’t have worked.
I actually think it’s pretty interesting that Regina has gone from being one of the most powerful people in the world, to one of the weakest. All because of the lack of love in her life.
eternalflameParticipantI’ve already emotionally prepared myself for Emma’s possible death. Often times, the role of the savor sometimes includes self sacirfice. It’s sad, but a very real possibility. But then again, I tend to favor more tragic or bittersweet endings.

I dunno….. should we give Rumple so much credit?
He’s had centuries and centuries to plan all of this. And he’s been the one pushing the overall plot. He’s the genisis of the entire story. So, it’s definitely possible that Rumpel could have planned everything. And if not everything, then most of it. 😉 Even the accomplishments of the heroes ended up benefitting Rumpel.
