I’m also holding out hope for Mr. Gold. The writers have gone out of their way to show us his vulnerable side for a reason. They want us to see that underneath his powerful facade, he’s just a man. A man with normal needs and desires. Love, family, and yes, even power. We don’t like to admit it to ourselves, but we all lust for power in one form or another. Whether it be in a romantic relationship or at your job. Power dominates us all. Sad, but true.
[adrotate group="5"]eternalflameParticipantIs it strange that I cried during Mr. Gold and Belle’s reunion, but for Snow and Charming’s? 😆 Absence makes the heart grow fonder. And Rumbelle has been absent for a LONG TIME. So, seeing them together just made my heart explode with joy and happiness. 😀
I loved how Mr. Gold looked as if he had seen a ghost. He had to actually touch her just to make sure that he wasn’t hallucinating. And the way Mr. Gold reacted when Belle asked him if he would protect her just broke my heart. You could tell that her words just melted his heart. 😥
I’m still holding out hope for Mr. Gold. The man is straight wacky, ok. 😆 So, it’s going to take some time for him to snap out of his thousand year old habits.
eternalflameParticipantOh, me too. I loved their scenes together. I was actually surprised by how much screentime Belle got. I’m glad that she played a role in the finale. It was nice seeing her again. 😀
And with confirmation from the producers that Belle will definitely be in season 2, i think we’ll be seeing a lot of Belle in the future. 😉

Ok, due to the craziness that was the season finale. I’ve decided to post a few new study questions.
1. Who has more power? Rumpel, Evil Queen or Emma?
2. Has Mr. Gold forgotten about Baelfire?
3. How will magic effect Storybrooke?
4. How will Belle react to Mr. Gold returning to his old Dark One persona?
5. What is Mr. Gold’s end game?
6. Now that the curse is broken, is Emma still the savior? Is she still a threat?
7. Who will the main battle be between? Who are the main players?
8. How will Baelfire play into this?1. Right now, I’m going to go with Rumpel and Emma.
2. I don’t think so. Just because he released magic into Storybrooke doesn’t mean that he isn’t still looking for Baelfire. It’s not like he found Bae and rejected him. All he did was release magic into the real world. Besides, he’s going to need magic to find him anyway. And no matter how angry we are at him for doing this, he would have had magic in his grasp no matter what. What if everyone returned to Fairytale land? They still would have had magic. So, it makes no difference either way.
4. Belle will most likely act as Mr. Gold’s conscience. There will definitely be some conflict between them. Mr. Gold will probably make a ton of promises to Belle about giving up his powers when he finally finds Baelfire. But what if he never finds Bae? Big problem. 😯
6. I’ve been thinking about that too. Rumpel said that Emma would break the curse. Well, she’s already done that. So, I’m not quite sure what Emma’s role will be in season 2. I still believe she has some magic, but I’m not sure how she will utalize it.
7. Defintiely between Rumpel, Regina and Emma.
8. I have no idea.
eternalflameParticipantGreat news! I love Belle and have been anxious to see her again. I’d love for her to break Mr. Gold’s curse and help him find Baelfire. 😀

When Belle says “You are not a monster”, my heart literally melt away. I can’t think of any actress can say something so sweet but not make us feel cheesy. How can Rumpel resist her charming?
I was surpised by the complete lack of cheesines in that episode. It was very well done. 😀 But then again, Rumpel’s episodes have always been darker and more serious in their tone. Cheesiness doesn’t really fit into his character arc.
eternalflameParticipantThere seems to be some confusion over why Mr. Gold was planning a trip. I’m pretty sure his trip is about finding Baelfire? I’ve read so many theories on why Mr. Gold wants to leave town, but I think the answer is pretty simple: To find Baelfire.

I’m sticking with Rumple writing the book. Belle is a good choice, but I truly believe that Regina nabbed Belle soon after she left Rumple. Why would Regina make up that whole story to him if she didn’t have her hostage somewhere already. I don’t believe a word she said to Rumple. So if she had Belle already in custody when the curse took effect then Regina kept her. If Belle has retained her EF memories the reason would probably be that Regina had no need of “writing” her a story, she had her prisoner already with no chance of parole. And if that’s the case I don’t see Belle writing the story from inside her little cell. Of course, that’s all dependent on Belle being Regina’s prisoner since after she talked to Grumpy in the pub following her flee from Rumple.
Yikes, this is confusing. I haven’t been this tied up in conspiracies and intricate details since the good old days of Harry Potter.
Then how do you explain Belle’s appearance in “Dreamy?” She was free and cleary not in any real danger. I don’t think Regina captured Belle immediately after she left Rumpel’s palace.
eternalflameParticipantI was actually surprised by the lack of cheesiness in Belle and Rumpel’s story. Most of the romances on this show have an element of cheesiness and cliche to them. But the writers did a complete 180 with Belle and Rumpel’s story. But than God they did. They created a real gem with this pairing.

Belle’s story also came after Rumple’s story, so it can also be another explaination of why it is not in the book. Rumple never told Belle much about himself. He said he “had a son and then he was gone, end of story.” She can’t write down what she does not know right?
But Rumpel’s entire story has been left out. His part in the curse. Him helping the queen. His name isn’t even in the book. It almost seems intentional.
