That’s a nice observation! Never thought of the mysterious island as anything else but yet another nod to LOST, but it would be interesting to see if there’s more to it…
[adrotate group="5"]That would be interesting but I’ve always thought of Charming as a family man (he was very attached to his mum) so I just get the feeling he simply can’t bring himself up to see Emma fully as his daughter, especially that he had absolutely no impact into her life and to how she was brought up, even though her values match closely with his.
Well, he gave him the exact amount that he told Emma when she asked how much the watches were worth. If he was a good negotiator, I’m sure he got much more for the watches than what he actually gave August. (he never got to the dealer he was meant to meet on that night so anything is possible)
He was wanted for a pretty big watch theft, it was getting rather serious.
After Emma retrieved the watches for him, he had plenty of money to secure change of name. I don’t think he’s ever spent any time in prison.hcadia, about Hook’s ship.
I’m actually surprised to hear his ship is made from the enchanted wood. Because in that case, why did Cora need the ash from the enchanted wardrobe in Snow’s palace? She could’ve just chip a bit off the ship? Or not even that, simply sail it to another world, just like that? (since it has the necessary magical properties) Obviously they knew about the compass for a long time even before Emma arrived so they could just gather the two things and have them ready, Cora didn’t need to follow Emma and Snow to her castle to get the ash!
I know this is just a technicality, but since it has been mentioned in the show, I think it’s worth spotting 😉 And why mention it in the first place, in this small talk between Hook and Charming, I hope there is a reason…em28, That’s Charming for you 😛
But truth said, he is right. Emma has no place in FTL but Charming and the rest clearly miss the place, it’s going to be really tricky to balance it if at all possible! At least he’s sure of his priorities. Also, I don’t think the Charmings have much connection with Emma anyway. True, they are her friends but
a) they were missing from her life for 28 years, there is no parent-daughter bond at this stage. Yes, they would like one, but it’s not as easy as clicking your fingers.
b) it would be different if they were different age. But they aren’t and that creates yet another, entire new barrier.Also, both Charming and David Nolan have actually spent relatively very little time with Emma compared to Snow – before the curse Emma lived with Snow and later on they spent together some time fighting/bonding in FTL. Yes, once they were back they were finally able to start catching up as a so called family, but I think it was quite clear that Charming’s priority was making up for the lost time to his wife rather than his daughter…
