Perhaps magic is not just an ability you’re born with, but one you can learn.
I’ve always thought that magic can be taught? I mean, even Regina had to have a teacher in Rumplestiltskin. He admitted she had a great potential she didn’t even know of but he still had to teach her how to use it. Therefore I’m convinced there are people out there who might have some magic potential and never discover it and learn to use it as well as people who might have no ‘potential’ whatsoever but be determined enough to learn some of it.
It’s like with any sport discipline, some have the ability to learn in and work hard to be good at it, to others it comes just as easily as breathing and for some they can never grasp it.[adrotate group="5"]evilqueen
Participantbut many characters from SB haven’t really had their happy endings in FTL either. I mean, Grumpy, for example? I don’t think he ever went back to Nova? Or Cinderella who lost her Thomas? Then, King George? (I guess Mulan, Aurora and Prince Philip could never count on their happy endings if they were left out in FTL)
Next, Rumple didn’t have a happy ending but he was promised to be included in the curse (Regina promised him to be reach in “that other land”). Mad Hatter, obviously, no happy endings there either, not only he lost his wife but also daughter – then again I imagine Regina would’ve brought him thinking he might be useful (and he remembered FTL only because he was dragged to SB from Wonderland, not FTL)evilqueen

Participantagreed, don’t need more villains trying to redeem themselves! (Regina is one and only exception but even I think she won’t make it)
I can’t even imagine Hook (or Cora) doing “the good” anyway….December 2, 2012 at 5:38 am in reply to: Rumpel/Regina’s Redemption through Hook & Cora’s evilness #163206evilqueen

It would be a completely unrealistic show if they ended the season with a group hug and forgiving the bad guys for being bad. That would just be horrible writing.
hahaha, sorry, I just imagined everyone suddenly finding themselves in the middle of the SB square and shouting “GROUP HUUUUGGGGGGGGG”, “YEEEAAHHHH!!!”
I also see the writers are bringing Cora and Hook as the REALLY REALLY BAD villains as opposed to *just* BAD villains who Regina and Rumple supposedly are. However, it doesn’t quite work for me – I don’t see them as worse than Regina and Rumple at all.
I admit that Regina and Cora might be equals (even though the show constantly throws at us that Cora is 10 times worse) but I think this is just a matter of perception – a lot of the characters don’t know exactly what either Regina or Cora did, just that they are bad. Similarly, none of us had a chance to see the “good” side of those new villains, like we did with Regina and Rumple. Seemingly, Cora is truly heartless and will stop at nothing, but so did the Evil Queen. I just think there could be more to Cora that meets the eye, she might have really good reasons to be mad at her daughter and I sort of think she might have soft moments as well – just like any of the characters, they are layered.
Same with Hook – he is manipulating all the time, plotting just like Rumplestiltskin and we haven’t really seen much good from him either. He’s a pirate and therefore a bad person, you could probably go even as far as calling him a “monster” in that pirates rob and kill people for selfish reasons and without mercy. Hell, we don’t even know if Milah left her family because she wanted the adventure or maybe Kilian has really kidnapped/blackmailed her and the love has only developed later (just like with Rumple and Belle). And the viewers never really know whether what he’s saying is a truth or a lie.
So in a way, there are so so many parallels between Regina/Rumple and Cora/Hook team that makes me think they are not really that much worse. It’s just we now know Regina and Rumple and we yet have to discover the Cora and Hook stories.
It would be a shame though if they were similar to those of Regina and Rumple – it would just be plain boring.evilqueen
Participantok, so:
2) i see, i missed it, never really linked the round table to King George, somehow. In that case, all I can think of is that Charming not so much went after King George’s kingdom but after the king himself, since he’s really been persistent with trying to make Charming’s life miserable. I believe his mother’s death would be the deciding factor and Charming would be fed up with constantly running away and it just had to be done.
3) but if that was the case, why would Henry be so so worried? He would simply fall asleep and see for himself. Also, wouldn’t he now be in danger trying to communicate to Charming? That would meant Charming’s actions even more stupid and pointless…in the sneak peek Regina and Rumple talk as if it's been a long time since Charming went under the spell and that they don't know if he delivered the message or not. That means Henry didn't have a chance to go back to that room and talk to Charming, otherwise they would've known. Even if they forbade him, Henry wouldn't be able to resist trying to talk to Charming…
It just doesn’t make sense – if Henry was going back there ANYWAY, why would Charming risk EVERYTHING just so that the boy wouldn’t have to talk to Aurora? If it was about Henry not going to the room at all, that would be an entirely different story but if he’s going to be there anyway, then what;s the point… 😕evilqueen
