The motivation for J.M. Barrie writing Peter Pan was the death of his 13 year old brother. His brother died 2 days before his 14th birthday. Note that Bae was 14 when he disappeared.
Barrie called Peter and the children of Neverland `lost boys`. This was in reference to parents that had lost children to death, as his mother had. Note that Rumples ALWAYS refers to Bae as being `lost`.
Peter Pan and the other lost boys were caught between two worlds. Life & death. Note that Bae is caught between two worlds, magic & real world.
The Blue Fairy instructs Bae to follow the magic bean wherever it leads him. This leads us to believe that he went to at least one other world before reaching ours.
Robert Carlyle has admitted that Rumples is several centuries old. So timeline for Bae going missing is many centuries as well, as he went through the vortex when Rumples first took power. The 1st and 2nd Ogre Wars also show us that time frame. This was long before Snow, PC, EQ, Gepetto, Jiminy, etc. So, considering that Bae is several centuries old, it would make sense if he landed in Neverland and remained 14 prior to coming to the real world.
Peter Pan would travel to the real world and bring children back to Neverland. Emma was an orphan, living in an orphanage. What if Peter traveled there looking for `lost boys`. Bae had a friend Morraine back in FTL. I believe a young Emma would have resembled Morraine in many ways. Perhaps Peter became quite taken with Emma and decided to stay. Perhaps Emma convinced him to stay, just as Wendy attempted to do in the original story. Perhaps he ended up in that same orphanage from 14 on, developed a friendship with Emma that ended in their late teens. That could also bring into play the possibility of Bae, aka Peter Pan, being Henry`s father.
We now have Captain Hook in SB. K&H also stated that we would find out about Bae this season as we would about Henry`s father. Funny how they have brought Michael Raymond-James in, with a recurring role, and have been so secretive about his character. Let`s not forget how uncanny his resemblance is to Dylan Schmid, young Baelfire.
This has been my theory since last February that Bae would end up as Peter Pan. Recent spoilers have only convinced more. In Season 2 stills, we see Henry floating outside his window. Coincidence? I don’t think so. I think he inherited his father’s special gift of flying. In the upcoming issue of TV Guide, posted here under the News tab, Josh Dallas says this about Emma & Henry’s father: โthere is a certain percentage of this man that Emma knows, and a certain part that she doesnโt. She had some sort of relationship with him, but there is an element of surprise for Emma as to the fullness of who this man is.โ This would follow my theory of Peter Pan showing up at Emma’s orphanage at 14 and remaining for a number of years. She knows him as an adolescent/young adult from the orphanage but has no idea of his Fairy Tale character.
Go team Bae/Peter Pan/Henry’s fatherI love the idea of Bae being Peter Pan. We saw the tearful reunion he had with August, who was an adult and not really his son. The idea of him having a reunion with Bae, and his boy still being a boy would be something I would love. Of course this messes with the Bae as Henry’s father part, but either way I love the idea of Bae as Peter.

That’s some good research ๐ I ran into similar information during Season 1 of OUAT. “Heart of Darkness”(s1e16). That is also the title of a Joseph Conrad novella, which is also a frame narrative/unreliable author. When it comes to K&H, just about everything is/can be connected. They are heavily into classic literature and film, as well as modern adaptions and epic stories. As you pointed out above, the clue from Archie’s notebook, ‘frames himself as victor in all conflicts’ could very well have multiple meanings…especially if you interpret the words on their own- frame, victor, conflict…
Thanks for the heads up on the Joseph Conrad novella. I think the most interesting thing about Dr. Whale is that the first time we saw him, they purposefully did not use a name, a profession, and he left a very negative impression. Then the next time we see him, he is the doctor in charge of David. Maybe that is our biggest clue of all.

Take a look at this new promo and tell me if around 1:19 you see Charming coming into Regina’s house with his sword and she is holding what looks like Cora’s “book” from the promo pic they released.

Yes, that is what it looks like to me.

[attachment=0:34tkcjfu]fish in greater detail.png[/attachment:34tkcjfu]fairy dustParticipantI am really hoping, “The Doctor” is Dr. Frankenstein. I was reading about James Whale (director of Frankenstein) and how he realized his interest in drama as a prisoner of war (WWI) and after the war became an actor, set designer, builder, stage manager and director. That got me to thinking about the Sheriff’s debate (Desperate Souls) that was held on the stage of City Hall. I remembered there were stage props in the background that were obviously used for theater. Here are some screen shots I took. There are several whales or large fish visible. As I lightened the pictures, the details became more visible.

I think regarding their names, it’ll be a bit of both FTL & SB until they managed to merge their old/FTL selves, with their SB selves. I mean they do have 28years of calling each other by different names & it makes sense- at least to begin with anyway- that they call most people /everyone by their SB names. After all many of them probably only know each other from being in SB since the curse was meant to take away everyone’s happy ever afters.
I hadn’t thought about the fact that some people would only know each other from SB, that is a good point.

I’ve been wondering for ages if they’d use SB names or FTL names, and I guess this answers that, (Emma already knows that Mr Gold is Rumple, so there’s no reason the rest of them wouldn’t too). I’d mainly been wondering about it in regards to how it’d affect Dr Whale’s scenes. If they were gonna be using FTL names, his ID would likely be given away in the first ep, considering he seems to play a significant role in it. Speaking of which, I think I heard that angry mob of his approaching at the end of that clip with the Charmings.
That’s a great point about Emma already knowing Gold’s identity and also about the Dr. Whale scenes.
fairy dustParticipantGreat links ๐
fairy dustParticipantI noticed in one of the clips Charming and Snow said something about going to talk to “Gold.” I’m surprised they didn’t call him Rumple??? Belle remembers him and called him Rumpelstiltskin, so I assume they would remember him too, but maybe they don’t. Did anyone else notice that? What do you think?

Haven’t seen that mentioned by anyone else and it’s as good a theory as any other! Welcome to the forum. ๐
