When I read about it being BIG RED SHINY I automatically thought of the Rubbie Slippers.
Actually they were only that way in the movie. In the book they were silver and we don’t know which version the show would pull from. I mean they have pulled from both the Disney versions of fairy tales and the Grimm (or classic) versions.
[adrotate group="5"]faux paxParticipantIf he was Bae, how would he have known this? Bae left way before SW/PC got married.
We don’t know what details were in the story Augest told him. Actually, the fact that by breaking the curse Emma would get the parents she’s wanted so badly, would be one of the few things we can almost GUARANTEE August would know even if he wasn’t working with BF.
faux paxParticipantI don’t think he liked the Dark One’s magic because it took over his father.
Good point. and if you pay attention to the way he says “Magic is everywhere” it seems like telling a kid in our world that they were going to a world without water–just because they hated stromes, doesn’t mean they never played in a puddle.
faux paxParticipantalso it seems as though that story she told Henry was 100% made up
I expected as much, but I did kind of hope that bit about the pumpkin pie was true. Henry deserves at least one real thing to hold onto. I mean i completely get why she lied, but still…
faux paxParticipantReally good question. You’re right about the boring job part. Plus, i looked up the statute of limitations on Grand larceny in AZ–there isn’t one, so technically he’s still a wanted man (wana bet Emma tries to use this to her advatage when he does show up and she wants to keep him from Henry?).
Maybe something that would darken his character and complicate any possibility of him easily reuniting Emma and Henry.
God i hope not. Those two have been through enough, plus, if he’s Bae that boy deserves at least ONE break in his life. And honestly, while i don’t want a quick resolution, I don’t want them to drag it out too long. The last thing I want is for Emma’s happiness to be the very end game. If they do that then the show will become ABOUT emma finding love. I think the Emma/Neal thing kind of needs to be at least mostly resolved before the end of season three to keep things from going stagnate.
The second possibility I’m thinking is that maybe he’s the book’s author?
Possibly. I mean it’s looking more and more likely that August is working with Blue, so maybe when August went AWOL, the baton got passed? Plus, if he’s Bae it might explain the illustrations. He could have inherited Milla’s artistic talent.
Or maybe Neal didn’t quite “stay away” like he promised and he was the one to orchestrate all of this?
No. No, no, no, no, no!!! August working with BF, i can semi understand using Henry as a way to get Emma here, but not Neal. The writers were careful to make him a good guy but believably a bad one from Emma’s POV. Giving his own kid to Gold would completely undo that. ESPECIALLY if he’s Bea.
faux paxParticipantLike I said, it’s not exactly a strong theory, but it’s all we got so far.
faux paxParticipantThe best theory I have seen yet is the picture of the dagger, even though I really hope it isn’t. Look at the box itself: was i the only one that noticed that it opened upside down? The deep part we normally think of as the box was used as the lid. That meant that the “box” part was only an inch or so deep, and from the brief glance we got from the side, i didn’t see anything over the edge. So far the best bet is a piece of paper.
faux paxParticipantI didn’t buy that they were quite true love in The Crocodile, but now I do.
I think a lot of that has to do with Milah and Hook as characters. They didn’t seem like they were lovey-dovey but that doesn’t mean they didn’t love each other. People show affection in different ways and Unfortunately Milah was killed off far too early for us to really get a handle on their dynamics.
faux paxParticipant/ I don’t get it… 😳
faux paxParticipantWell I think that their love is definitely real and not manipulated because no magic can create that, but I could see the Blue Fairy working behind the scenes to manipulate them in place.
What i’m worried about is more along the lines of them writing it into the curse that the savour have a child or something like that–something to eventually draw her into Storybrooke.
I’m really hoping that Neal and Emma’s love is a wild card–something that for all Rumple’s planning and Blue’s preparations, neither of them could have predicted or manipulated into being. The alpha and omega, the beginning and the end of the curse together.
Perhaps that particular bit of true love has a magic all its own. Perhaps it (or the product of it) can do what Rumple never cared to factor into his plains and something Blue never dreamed could be possible: Restore the other realms.
Perhaps that’s Henry’s own special destiny…
Or maybe i’m letting my imagination run away with me, but it’s fun to think about. 😆
