Another regular casting call for a one Barrett.
It sounds like Bae but I hope it’s just an attempt to throw us off the Bae as Henry’s daddy trail since “Barrett” wouldn’t show up until after Tallahassee….
[adrotate group="5"]faux paxParticipantI think i would feel cheated if it were Gold. The fact that MRJ’s character knew what it meant would imply that he had been in concact with whoever sent it at least enough to know about the curse. and if Bae was exchanging letters with Rumple, i think it would lessen the big confrentation, which would kind of be really dissipointing–i’ve been looking foward to the fireworks for a while now.
faux paxParticipantI keep going back and forth on this. I sort of want him to be just Bae because Emma is only Emma. If he has to be someone else, I’d rather he be Jack because he was connected to the magic beans, and he wouldn’t be the traditional Jack that we know. More importantly and I’m not sure I’m going to explain this right, but he’d still be Bae but known as Jack here whereas I think if he was Peter, he’d be Peter more than Bae.
I couldn’t agree with you more. Going back to the Bae as Henry’s daddy theory (as I almost always do 😆 ) I think it would have a nice bit of symmetry if that little nuclear family were the only ones who were JUST themselves. There are so many theories about who Bae could be AS WELL as being Bae: Jack, Hook, Whale ( 😕 ), the white rabbit, Peter Pan, and the list goes on, getting more and more unlikely.
Here’s my guess, He is actually Oliver from Oliver Twist…I mean they are both (practically) orphans. It’s a perfect fit! Not really, I’m just messing with you guys.
I like that you pointed out that, even if there is a bit of an age difference between Bae and Emma, it wouldn’t be unlike Rumple and Belle’s situation. I mean that seems to be the main thing that is creeping people out about the possibility of Swanfire.
But that’s not necessarily the case at all. I don’t think Rumple would design the curse if there was no chance for him to come into this world centuries after Bae would be dead. I think he made it so that the curse brought people here around the same time as Bae would have come through the portal (maybe not EXACTLY the same time, but i’m thinking within a few years) and, I know i’m probably in the minority with this one, i would really feel cheated if it turns out he was in a world with magic. I mean after all the kids been through he deserves that much at least…
On a side note has any one else seen Bae’s letter on Untold Stories…. My heart….it has exploded.
faux paxParticipantThe way I see it, there was magic everywhere in FTL (Bae said as much in his conversation with BF) and that’s why it was easy for some people to use it–they could tune into it like listening to a radio. I think that because the magic was brought by the same potion that gave Emma the magic needed to break the curse, I think she is the only one who can tune into the right frequency (like being the only radio that picks up AM stations), but when she touches people it adjust their dial for a little while, if that makes any since.
I must say, I was worried about how MRJ is going to play Bae (assuming of course, that it is Bae) so i started watching terriers. He’s a really good actor and i’m really excited to see him bump heads with Rumple and see how much chemistry he has with Emma (i hope a lot–i’m a shameless swanfire fan).
faux paxParticipantSometime after Bae comes back to storybrook, I want him to have to fight an oger. I just think the Irony would rock, and besides Emma has already beaten a dragon…it could happen.
faux paxParticipantis agenda of revenge against his enemies is complete, and he has his son by his side.
And therein lies the true problem for Gold. I doubt Bae (and Belle) will stay by his side as long as he is driven by revenge. I don’t see a way for Gold to have his cake and eat it too, and although I might be in the minority with this, I really don’t want to. After all, “Love is sacrifice.” If he had both it would be Belle and Bae who were sacrificing their morals to be with him.
faux paxParticipantWe don’t know if magic is passed down from parent to child in this world
or maybe rubbed off through contact. If that’s the case Henry is screwed, especially if Bae is his dad.

Phee wrote: This “magic touch” of hers is fascinating to me. I’d never really expected her to have magical powers. Her parents weren’t magical, so I don’t see how it could have been in her genetic makeup. I always just figured her purpose was to break the curse, and that was her “magic”, but she couldn’t make with the hocus pocus stuff. But now there definitely seems to be more to her abilities
Yes, it’s very fascinating to me, too! How could Emma conduct magic if her parents don’t have it? Jefferson said she brought magic to Storybrooke. As you pointed out, Emma seemed to conduct magic to Regina, as if she were linking her to the magic already present in SB.
Thanks to Jane (and Phee), I think the answer can be found by linking the words Emma and Magic. I no longer just think Emma does magic. I think Emma is magic! 💡
It sounds strange at first, but Emma is True Love Incarnate, thanks to Rumpel adding a drop of the true love potion to the parchment on which the curse was written, making her the savior. And what is true love? True love is the most powerful form of magic. Thus, Emma is the most powerful form of magic. That is why when Emma touched Regina, she was able to conduct magic. That’s why, when Graham kissed Emma, he remembered. It’s not that either character is necessarily “in love” with Emma but more that fact that Emma herself embodies true love magic, which can break any curse. Also, I’m beginning to think the favor that Emma owes Rumpel could involve a transfer of magic (like a currency)! 😮
It’s an interesting idea–one I really like–but i’m worried about what it might mean. They will have to be careful not to make Emma TOO powerful or make it so that she can give all the good guys kick butt magic powers. That’s kind of what tanked Heroes.
faux paxParticipantYeah, I think I would have died if they would have made us wait until after the christmas break.
faux paxParticipantI’m more interested in the clip with Charming and Jefferson. SabStan’s sarcastic little laugh “can you get it to work?” Epic.
