Poor Marian….I guess they are treating her like all the peasants.
You’ve hit the nail on the head I think. To the writers she is second class, unworthy of respect and her own story. She may as well be a problematic garden fence coming between Robin and Regina with the amount of humanity they have afforded her. I hate it when female characters are used like this! Like they are nothing but a gigantic hindrance to the ‘real’ characters until, that is, she can be used to further their story. She has literally become to Once what women in the comic book world are routinely reduced to – the ‘woman in the refrigerator’ trope (even though I don’t think her death/brush with death will make Robin go out on a revenge mission, my point of her being reduced to borderline ‘object’ status for the furthering of other character’s stories still stands).

"there’s lesbians in it"FelieParticipantI don’t want Marian killed off. I think she & Robin just need to drift apart. Maybe Robin isn’t really Marian’s true love. Maybe it’s Shreif Nottingham (if he’s still alive) becuase didn’t he say Robin stole the woman he loved? Maybe that’s part of Robin’s “dark” past. Nottingham only became a drunk & a sleeze because of his broken heart.
Yeesh! I hope this doesn’t happen… the whole language of Robin ‘stealing’ a woman just feels a bit too creepy for my liking.

"there’s lesbians in it"FelieParticipantMy thought is she was only brought back during the second curse; she was off doing whatever those that weren’t caught up in the first curse were doing. I think she’s just emerging now because she’s got her sights on Emma, though, not Elsa. Emma’s powers are strong and everyone is realizing as time goes on just how much raw power Emma has inside her. It seems Elsa & the Ice Queen’s powers are rather limited – I mean, you can only do so much with ice walls and monsters – but Emma’s powers don’t seem particularly limited. Imaging already being quite powerful but getting your hands on even stronger and more varied power. She may have also just realized from Zelena’s silly kissy curse that Emma’s powers can be taken from her…so she’s got Elsa in town, the perfect scapegoat for anything the Ice Queen starts to do….she’s realized she can find the means to strip Emma of her magic…it’s perfect timing for whatever she’s got in store.
Wouldn’t this mean that she wouldn’t have a SB alter-ego though? I thought only people brought over in Regina’s curse had businesses, knowledge of how our world works, etc. I don’t think she’d have the ice cream business if she had come to SB only after Snow’s curse.

"there’s lesbians in it"FelieParticipantThen why is Fate still trying to kill Marian? First Marshamallow, now a Frozen Heart Let’s face it…it was that woman’s fate to die! And when Emma screwed it up, Fate has decided to play Final Destination with Marian, to kill her by whatever means necessary!
You could be right, but I still think it’s FAR too early to be killing Marian, since she kinda needs to be… ‘in the way’, for lack of a better term.
Besides, all the things you’ve named could equally be turned on their heads to show that fate doesn’t want Marian dead, since she was saved by Emma and then (just in the nick of time) by Regina.

"there’s lesbians in it"FelieParticipantSo this must be the story of how Elsa became enslaved in the urn. I suppose the Snow Queen put her in there. But why? I thought Elsa and the Snow Queen would be related. Also, why is Hans there and is he working with the Snow Queen to take the throne of Arendelle? What exactly would the Snow Queen get out of such a partnership with Hans? And what happened to Kristoff? Maybe he was taken prisoner by Hans and his men. PS) I love Elsa’s hair-style! It’s just how she wore it at her coronation.
I can’t get over how beautiful her hair looks here! The hair and makeup people are true artists!
Yeah, I think Hans is either working for the IQ or is tricking Elsa into freeing her so that Hans can trap Elsa inside the urn.

"there’s lesbians in it"FelieParticipantHmmm….In a sense that maybe it…but Fate would still want Marian dead, and if she shares a heart with Robin, that would kill Robin too….so Regina may split her heart with Robin to save him. Therefore…Regina and Robin still have a happy ending because they’ll be sharing her heart.
Maybe fate decided to put Emma in the dungeon with Marian, knowing she would save her and ruin Regina’s happiness? Regina seems to think that fate is out to get her, and that Marian was a part of fate’s plan to undermine her only shot at True Love to come along since Daniel…

"there’s lesbians in it"FelieParticipantI think she is the Snow Queen from the story by Hans Christian Anderson. Perhaps she was content to lay low until the right time presented itself for her to get what she wants. What does she want? One possibility is that the Snow Queen wants Elsa. Why? Because the Snow Queen is really Elsa’s birth mother. My theory is posted here.
Cool! I also think that there is some sort of familial link between the two ice maidens, but I don’t think they’ll separate Elsa from Anna like that (not even by making them half-sisters). My theory (one I seem to share with RG!) is that the Ice Queen is Elsa and Anna’s aunt, who was banished from Arindelle for some reason.
I am in love with your avatar btw ;P

"there’s lesbians in it"FelieParticipantDo you want the in-show reason or do you want the out of show reason? In show reason (my prediction): she is after Elsa’s powers; she doesn’t want there to be another Ice or Snow Queen. She somehow figured out that Elsa came through the portal with Emma and Hook and is seeking revenge or plotting Elsa’s downfall. Out of show reason: Because Frozen wasn’t a thing until last winter and A and E never planned to introduce the Ice Queen, at least not in any villain of the arc way, so her appearance in town is because PLOT.
LOL, Yes, in-show reasons please (probably should have stated that before, huh?).
Hmm… I believe there is an element of protecting her status involved with her motives too. Or, it could be some kind of revenge for something Elsa’s parents may have done to her. There is a possibility she already knew about Elsa before the curse if Elsa’s parents had approached her for help on their trip to the EF, but why wouldn’t she go after Elsa in Arindelle when she was still young (I think she was 18 when her parents died) and vulnerable, knowing that her parents hadn’t allowed her to practice her magic?

When the ice wall crashes there’s a ringing in everyone’s ears, like the scene from the film where the chandelier crashes and knocks Elsa out.
Regina not wanting to see Henry/Henry going to her anyway, directly parallels Anna not giving up on Elsa, despite her very vocally wishing to be alone.
‘We really don’t like to give up’ is a reference to Anna’s personality.

"there’s lesbians in it"FelieParticipantI don’t usually ship anyone but I would so love to have Elsa meet and fall for Merida.
Could you imagine the ratings exploding if word got out that Once had a canon lesbian relationship? Especially if they got someone as gorgeous as Karen Gillan (that Scottish accent!) to act alongside the stunning Georgina Haig.
I think Merida’s bold and wild (feral?) personality would be a delicious contrast to Elsa’s reserved timidity. It would give the writers a chance to experiment with Elsa as Merida could be used to introduce her to things outside of her comfort zone.
Plus I can see Merida and Anna being really good friends (going on mad dangerous adventures together, spurring each other on to do things that would give Elsa and Kristoff cardiac arrest if they found out what they were up to).
And Sven would have a new horsey play-mate too!!!
I am in love with this theoretical couple so much.
