Even before this, I had little hope of seeing Mulan again. I got the impression that she was quite put out by the treatment of her character, and rightly so. It’s such a pity.
[adrotate group="5"]February 22, 2017 at 7:38 am in reply to: Spotting OUAT actors in other shows – guest, recurring, etc #333397sciencevsmagicParticipantPeter Gadoit (Cyrus, OUATinWL) showed up at the end of last night’s Supergirl and will play Mr. Mxyzptlk in next week’s super crazy Valentine’s Day episode. It looks like it’s going to be nothing but crazy (and I am 100% here for it)
Peter Gadoit was highly entertaining! But I gotta say…has the spirit of CS left OUAT and gone over to Supergirl? The conversations about this episode involving Mon-El are eerily reminiscent of our fandom’s discussions about Hook.
sciencevsmagicParticipantI don’t know if there any right or wrong choices in this world anymore. I do think Bellamy’s choice made sense from Bellamy’s character arc standpoint. After everything with Pike last season I wasn’t surprised that was the route Bellamy went. I also like that Bellamy has a optimist streak to him. He keep believing that Clarke will figure something out.
Agree wholeheartedly about there not being right or wrong choices in this world. And yes, it was what I expected Bellamy to do. That’s sort of my problem. Bellamy’s leadership decisions are always based on the here and now; there is seldom much forethought, strategy or consideration of consequences. This style is brilliant for survival in the present moment, but it also leads to serious future consequences. If Bellamy is to grow as a leader, he needs to think more about the future.
–On another note: how cool was the effect in the premiere seeing radiation storm!
Chills!!!
I don’t think that Bellamy was right to choose to help those farm station survivors over the hydro generator. They could have saved them later after the generator was safe. They will now just die horrible deaths later on anyways, dying outside of captivity is no better then inside. Also, i think they could have come back with fifty soldiers with guns and taken care of that quite easily.
This is what I was thinking as I watched. They could have left spies there to see where their people were moved, and returned with a rescue mission. It wouldn’t have required more effort than building a new hydrogenerator!
I do really hope that Clark and Bellamy just don’t hook up, but i think that is where they are going.
Agree on both fronts. It would be such a cliche, and avoiding these is one of the shows’s great strengths. But I’d be very surprised (also impressed) if they didn’t hook up.
Enjoy today’s episode everyone!
sciencevsmagicParticipantAfter three episodes, my feelings are mixed. I’m really liking the ‘World Ending’ storyline, especially the tough decisions and conversations that come with that. This is what I signed up for in S4, and what I want to see more of. On the downside, the Azgeda arc isn’t doing it for me. It’s realistic, but I’m not finding it interesting. I feel like the Ice Nation conflict was prematurely curtailed in 3A, when they were being set up as the season’s ‘big bad’. Now, I’m just not in the mood to return to it. It doesn’t help that Echo seems pretty one dimensional and Roan hasn’t been developed beyond what we saw in S3.
Other thoughts
– The show started with 100, will it end with 100?
– Jasper is REALLY annoying. As harsh as it sounds, I wish they’d let him commit suicide. He’s being completely self centred, and still unnecessarily antagonistic to Clarke. I wish someone would slap him and remind him that he’s not the only one who’s been through stuff. They all just seem to let him get away with being a jerk.
– How is Monty still so functional after being forced to kill his mother? Poor Monty.
– Octavia’s a total badass, and surprisingly centred after losing Lincoln. Anyone else think that Octavian is going to become a ship?
– Indra has a daughter. Cool.
– Was Bellamy right to choose farm station survivors over the hydrogenerator?
– How on earth is it good policy to let Clarke make a list of people and then keep it under wraps? Shouldn’t this sort of thing be discussed? Be done using some sort of framework that accounts for how much each person can contribute, what their likelihood of survival is etc? Clarke making a list by herself and then hiding it just seems very unrealistic.

sciencevsmagicParticipantOk, cool, that’s what I’ll do too then. I’ll watch the first episode sometime today and post my thoughts shortly.
sciencevsmagicParticipantAnyone interested in doing an episode by episode discussion of S4? I haven’t started watching it yet, and I’m trying to decide whether to watch it on a weekly basis or binge watch at a later date.
February 14, 2017 at 6:32 am in reply to: TVLine Jan 22: A Musical Episode (Confirmed Feb 2) #333218sciencevsmagicParticipantWhich is gonna be a horrendous autotuned mess. Lana’s even said she can’t sing so it makes no sense why she would be singing in a musical episode.
Well, how about at least watching the episode before jumping to such strong conclusions? As @MP said, lots of people will want to hear her sing and as @TheWatcher said, they will do everything in their power to make the cast sound acceptable.
