Frozen QueenParticipant
I’m a big fan of Frozen (as my screen name indicates), and I personally wouldn’t mind if the writers decided to make Elsa and Anna adoptive sisters rather than biological sisters. Blood isn’t always thicker than water. Henry loves his adoptive mother as much as his birth mother. I also think it would send a positive message about adoption if Anna and Elsa were to share sisterly true love without necessarily having to be related by blood. So far, the writers have been sticking really close to the Disney movie, so making Elsa the biological daughter of the Snow Queen would be quite a nice twist on the tale, for which Once Upon a Time is so well known.

Frozen QueenParticipantNow that we know the Snow Queen runs an ice cream shoppe, Rocky Road is a really the perfect title for the episode that introduces her to us. I love, love, love the double meanings in episode titles.
Oh I do sincerely love rocky road ice cream! I may even have to buy a pint of it to enjoy while watching this show on any given sundae. 🙂 I agree that it’s a really cute play on words now that the Snow Queen has been introduced as the owner of an ice cream parlor. We may indeed expect more of Elizabeth Mitchell’s character to be revealed this Sunday.

Frozen QueenParticipantI’m a huge fan of Elsa, so to see her meet Emma was truly enchanting. I think the only other time we’ve ever seen Emma really bond with a female friend was with Mary Margaret in season 1, before she found out she was really her mother. So it’s nice to see Emma and Elsa become friends. I think Elsa is lonesome for Anna, so she probably welcomes having a friend and sister figure in this strange and foreign land. I know it probably won’t last beyond the first half of season 4, but it’s nice while it lasts.

Frozen QueenParticipantSo this must be the story of how Elsa became enslaved in the urn. I suppose the Snow Queen put her in there. But why? I thought Elsa and the Snow Queen would be related. Also, why is Hans there and is he working with the Snow Queen to take the throne of Arendelle? What exactly would the Snow Queen get out of such a partnership with Hans? And what happened to Kristoff? Maybe he was taken prisoner by Hans and his men. PS) I love Elsa’s hair-style! It’s just how she wore it at her coronation. 🙂

Frozen QueenParticipantDidn’t someone mention there’s a mirror in the original Snow Queen story?
Yes, there was a magic mirror in the story by Hans Christian Anderson. According to Wikipedia:
An evil troll (called the “devil”)[2] has made a magic mirror that distorts the appearance of everything it reflects. It fails to reflect the good and beautiful aspects of people and things, while magnifying their bad and ugly aspects. The devil, who teaches a “devil school,” took the mirror and his pupils throughout the world, delighting in using it to distort everyone and everything; the mirror makes the loveliest landscapes look like “boiled spinach.” They tried to carry the mirror into Heaven with the idea of making fools of the angels and God, but the higher they lifted it, the more the mirror grinned and shook with delight, and it slipped from their grasp and fell back to earth, shattering into millions of pieces. These splinters — some no larger than a grain of sand — were blown around and get into people’s hearts and eyes, freezing their hearts like blocks of ice and making their eyes like the troll-mirror itself, seeing only the bad and ugly in people and things.
This title looks awfully similar to 405’s title, “Breaking Glass”, so now I’m all confused…
“Breaking Glass” of course made me think of Sidney Glass–the man the magic mirror–whom we saw be enslaved once again in the mirror by Regina. But of course, now we have another reference to broken mirrors. My current guess is that the first 4×5 will be Regina’s story, which will relate to the Snow Queen’s story in 4×8.

Frozen QueenParticipantSo, I believe that Marian will be saved by Robin after her heart has frozen: by him giving her half of his heart. I know that only couples who are under the influence of True Love can do this (or so it would seem), and since Robin has declared his lack of love for Marion this would make the whole ‘sharing-a-heart’ thing seem unlikely to work, but I have a theory that the love doesn’t necessarily have to be between the couple who share the heart.
I know Robin said his feelings for Regina are real, but I don’t recall him saying he didn’t love his wife. I think it’s more complicated than that, since in this instance, I think it’s possible for Robin to love two women at the same time. His love for Marian was very evident in the flashback we saw of when Robin saved her life with the fairy wand. I think Robin probably will always have a place in his heart for Marian, but that he has had to move on since her death and that he developed real feelings for Regina. But his honor, as well as his cherished memories of Marian, will help him keep his marital vow to her. Part of Regina’s continued growth towards being a hero may be realizing Robin is right to choose his wife. Regina may also finally start westling with a guilty conscience and become sorry for killing people like Marian in the past. Marian may die again the present day, but I don’t think Regina will have anything to do with it, and I think it would happen towards the end of the season. But if Marian lives, Regina’s happiness may not even include Robin, since in the end, she may realize a happy life with Henry is enough.

Frozen QueenParticipantmaybe Anna is actually trapped inside of the snowflake necklace.
There does seem to be something mysterious about that necklace. The Snow Queen is wearing a snowflake pendant in 3×3 pictures, which is different but similar to the necklace that Elsa gave to Anna.

Frozen QueenParticipantDo Hook and Elsa know each other? They didn’t seem to recognize each other in 3×2, but the photos from 3×3 show them interacting. I wonder what Hook is holding. It looks like a bottle of sparkly dirt. 🙂 Oh and it’s so good to see Will Scarlett. I was beginning to wonder when he’d show up.

Frozen QueenParticipantCool! I also think that there is some sort of familial link between the two ice maidens, but I don’t think they’ll separate Elsa from Anna like that (not even by making them half-sisters). My theory (one I seem to share with RG!) is that the Ice Queen is Elsa and Anna’s aunt, who was banished from Arindelle for some reason.
I agree there must be a family connection between Elsa and the Snow Queen. There is a resemblance when you see them side by side. Whether it’s birth mom and daughter or aunt and niece, I think it would be a nice explanation for where Elsa got her magic from if she did inherit her powers from the Snow Queen.
I am in love with your avatar btw ;P
Thanks!

Frozen QueenParticipantI think Anna is being held captive by the Snow Queen, who is going to be a bit villainous. Maybe she removed Anna’s heart before freezing her. However, the Snow Queen kept Anna’s heart in a jar so that the freezing spell would preserve her, rather than kill her. That could be how Anna is still alive in the present day, her youth and beauty preserved and not ravaged by the passage of time. That could also be why the sound of Anna’s heartbeat was audible. While this sounds extreme and maybe even morbid, it would be in keeping with Cora and Regina, who both have a thing for collecting hearts.
