My favourite scene was probably when Rumpel was helping Henry, and when Charming punched Spencer. My least favourite was when Spencer called Ruby “it” – I didn’t think I could hate him more, but apparently, I could.

Emma said in Broken that they may come from another world, but they’re in this one now, so maybe they’ll decide to abide by this world’s laws concerning criminals. But I was also kind of hoping that Charming would continue beating him up.
frumpybutsupersmartParticipantMaybe David just thinks it’s getting too dangerous for him – remember, he did get physically burned by that place. David wouldn’t want Henry to risk his life in order to save Snow and Emma (and Snow and Emma would agree).

It’s not only you, since I share your insight. I believe this netherworld, as Mr. Gold called it, could either foreshadow or be an actual portal between worlds, which Cora may try and enter using magic.
I don’t think it’s an exactly physical portal – only Henry and Aurora’s consciousnesses were transferred there during their dreams, while their physical bodies stayed in Storybrooke/FTL. It probably does mean they’re getting close to getting back, though, which is exciting 😀

I’m now thinking that the title Into the Deep could refer to entering the netherworld which is somewhere between the living and the dead. Mr. Gold said that souls travel there when they’re neither fully dead nor fully alive, like when one is under the effects of the sleeping curse. I predict Aurora will also meet Phillip in that netherworld, since he was entrapped by the soul-sucking wraith. Perhaps Phillip and other trapped spirits could even help in the battle against Cora, if she somehow has the magical power to travel there herself.
I agree about the meaning of the title – it said David would risk his life to communicate with Emma and Co., so I’m betting this means that he’ll voluntarily undergo the same sleeping curse in order to reach the Red Room. However, I think that specific place can only be reached by the sleeping curse, otherwise it’d be much more populated with the wraith’s victims. That’s not to say there’s not another room somewhere else on the same plane for those who get killed by the wraith, though. It’s just that if all the wraith’s victims spent the rest of their existence in the Red Room, it’d be a lot more crowded. Aurora initially described it as having no way out, which meant that she could see the entire room, and she would have noticed a bunch of people there. But it would be cool if they could somehow access the place Philip is and he could help them fight Cora 😀
frumpybutsupersmartParticipantI think Anita was telling the truth, and that Granny lied to Red. They did look very much alike, and Anita did seem like she loved Ruby. She was legitimately trying to help Red live the best way she knew how, but that unfortunately meant being loyal to only her pack and ruthless towards anyone who could potentially threaten them. Granny would have been fairly justified in trying to protect Red from becoming a killer – Red wouldn’t have grown up to be as kind and accepting as she is if she had been raised by Anita and the wolf pack.
frumpybutsupersmartParticipantIs it just me or did that purple smoke surrounding Aurora in that promo shot of her spinning through the air remind anyone else of magic? Do you think Cora might be able to influence that dream world somehow?
frumpybutsupersmartParticipantIt’s also possible that Gold thinks he needs to get back on Emma’s good side once she gets back, and helping her son escape his nightmares would be the best way to do that (and let’s face it, it would be). And, he kind of took a big risk with Henry’s life in A Land Without Magic, so he might be trying to make up for that. Also, he knows what it’s like to be terrified of something, so I think he sympathised with Henry a bit there.
frumpybutsupersmartParticipantI’m hoping that he’s legitimately trying to be a good person and help Henry, but I’m afraid history does not support this hope … At any given point, he never has fewer than seven ulterior motives in play. But I think at least part of it is him being nice, because he actually seems fond of kids.
frumpybutsupersmartParticipantI didn’t catch that, but that’s probably where he’d have hidden it, seeing as he probably didn’t think anyone would be after it. And it’s the first place I would have looked if I were Spencer.
November 8, 2012 at 2:40 pm in reply to: Regina and Rumplestiltskin-Who’s Worse? Can Either Change? #160013frumpybutsupersmartParticipantTo be fair, it makes sense that Rumpel’s arc would be longer, seeing as he was deeply immersed in evil magic for over 200 years, whereas Regina had only been doing magic for 20 years max before she got stuck in Storybrooke. But yeah, I hope they don’t rush it, otherwise it’ll feel forced. Maybe they’ll both revert if Cora and Hook make it to Storybrooke.
