I’m interested in hearing theories as well now that Arthur claims that the darkness can be snuffed out with a whole Excalibur. Assuming the price is different for everyone, will the “winning” side belong to whomever is able to reunite the two pieces? Since Emma is the Dark One, her price is the loss of her family and friends which is being construed as “the light.” However, I think Arthur’s price would be the loss of Camelot and he may be the “darkness” that is snuffed out since his intentions aren’t true. Then without him, an enchanted Guinevere rules with the impression that she is the light but is in fact darkness as well. An out there thought, but perhaps the end game with Excalibur is to snuff out the light. So lost.

fumerunnerParticipantJust binged watched the entire Merlin series and they had a “Cup of Life” which was used for both good and evil. Merlin also utilized disguises to hide his use of magic in that series since it was outlawed. I can see the cup being important for Rumple perhaps but may not necessarily be part of the search for Merlin. So excited for the season to start.
fumerunnerParticipantI have to agree with WickedRegal and found the final scene a bit anti-climatic since we had already seen the spoilers. Though I understand that the Savior becoming the Dark One is a really big deal, I’m not that impressed. Unlike Rumple who thrived as the Dark One because he controlled his dagger, Emma doesn’t have the dagger. So I don’t envision her independently walking around reeking havoc. The individuals who are present when the dagger appears are her trusted friends and family that can summon her and will probably hand over the dagger to her as they embark on the journey to find Merlin. This does not automatically imply that Emma will viciously use her newfound “darkness” to hurt people but I guess the challenge comes with seeing her struggle to walk the line. After all, this is OUAT so you never know. Next season should be interesting.
fumerunnerParticipantTotally with you on this being in present day Storybrooke since we’ve seen pictures of Emma and the Apprentice!

ROAD TRIP! I keep visualizing Thelma & Louise in anticipation of this road trip. Looking forward to this episode.
fumerunnerParticipantJust happened to come across this couples contest while reading through other articles. Apparently your voting worked as CS beat the competition!

Way to go. They even beat out Charming & Snow and Rumple & Belle! Clearly this is the pairing of the year.
fumerunnerParticipantI don’t think Snow and Charming actually revealed that they knew him. Would have to rewatch the scene to confirm but i think it occurs to them who he was and he ran off before they could confront him.
fumerunnerParticipantSince August said the picture was the door, I keep thinking about the movie Mortal Instruments: City of Bones and how their Mortal Cup was hidden inside the card of the cup. It took someone with a special skill to be able to see and release the cup which is a strategy I can see working with the Author’s door as well. Just like the enchantment the Sorcerer placed on the hat box, the door will also need a very obscure requirement in order to be visible and broken.
Here’s my theory: Henry will be the one to discover how to open the door as the product of not just true love but specifically the union of light (Emma) and dark (Neal) rooted in a deep belief in magic and the written word. Might be totally wrong but putting it out there.
fumerunnerParticipantNot sure if this question has been asked somewhere else, but this seemed like the best place. How can we trust what Ingrid whispered as the final ingredient to what Rumple wants when it is revealed that she hasn’t really had the hat much longer than him? I know the show isn’t about consistency, but at the end of Smash the Mirror, we see Ingrid giving the Apprentice the hat back in exchange for the information about Emma. This implies that she only possessed the hat for a short time after Anna took it from Rumple and she took it from Anna. Yet, when she tempted Rumple with the deal, she said that she’s had the hat much longer than him and knows it better. This is inconsistent with the answer to her arriving in our world and giving up the hat. Which raises another questions about who the mansion really belongs to and why would the hat be there? Do you think it’s a trap for Rumple perhaps?
