I wouldn’t say that’s entirely true because Emma has been wary of her magic in the past. She’s been reluctant to embrace it. So it doesn’t really feel that far fetched to me that it would suddenly go haywire when her emotions start to boil over. Magic is emotion.

I agree with Emma being wary of her magic and her decision to give it up isn’t out of the blue. She gave it up to save Hook and was ready to be done with it after Zelena was defeated. Yet we know that Emma’s magic is powerful since Regina often said she’s under utilizing it and just needed more training. The storyline doesn’t feel forced since the season has shown Emma accepting lots of things she hasn’t accepted before so it makes sense she must embrace who she is in order to move forward.

The way he acted with Emma in the scene right after he’d had his heart removed, it seemed to me he was trying to over compensate to try and cover up the lack of heart. So reading what they say about how nothing’s changed, it just doesn’t jive with that IMO, (on top of how inconsistent it is with previously established missing heart lore).

I must agree with you completely on this. Hook definitely was over compensating to the extent that Emma had to remind him that she’s ok. I am very curious how this plays out but don’t see why Hook wouldn’t just come clean like he did when he was leaving Emma the message.

LOL you think there is continuity

As a general rule I’ve pretty much given up on expecting continuity. But for a plot point that was so vital as Rumple learning Emma’s name, that’s a fact they really shouldn’t screw with.

What if Rumple knew about the prophecy and the savior’s name the entire time, but never knew when that savior would be born? If he knew about the prophecy, and traded the urn for it, then he would just be playing a waiting game for the right baby to be born.

Clearly, he already knew about the savior’s future existence when Emma and Hook went back in time since he said he hasn’t cast the curse yet. This would imply that he was already knowledgeable of the savior’s existence and potentially her name. He could have forgotten the name as a result of taking the forgetting potion prior to her leaving.  Plus, he already had the urn in his possession at that time.

Wild theory – Rumple traded the prophecy to Ingrid in exchange for urn so that both of their missions could be accomplished. Ingrid would travel to the Land without Magic awaiting Emma’s arrival so that she could “protect” her once she came.  Rumple would hold on to Elsa anticipating Emma’s trip and knowing that would fulfill his end of the deal by reuniting the “sisters.’ Totally crazy theory but hey, it’s OUAT so anything’s possible.

    1. The book ends with baby Emma being put in the wardrobe- That was Charming’s last memory before he was stabbed and lost consciousness and the curse was cast.

I like the theory that everyone is partially the author, but I thought the book had a different ending that Henry tore out rather than it ending with Emma being put in the wardrobe. I haven’t re-watched the episodes from season 1 but I remember him saying that the evil queen can’t see the end of the book and they had to hide it at all costs. Does anyone recall this as well?

I must agree that it’s probably the loss of Sidney. But “suffer a loss” may not mean that he dies. Perhaps he’s taken by the Snow Queen to use for her own plans. Just a thought.

Interesting point with the dagger being fake in the deleted scene with the urn. If  he  truly needed the dagger to “restore” the urn, wouldn’t he also need it to release the magic from Marian’s frozen lock of hair? I can’t imagine Rumple always carrying the real dagger with him and freezing everyone everytime he needed to switch the daggers if called upon.
