They could especially tie in Madame Leota being a spirit trapped in a crystal ball to Zelena. Maybe there is a reason Rump wanted that crystal ball really badly after all, and its because a powerful, all seeing witch was cursed inside it.
Gotta catch ’em all.

GaultheriaParticipantAll of those tridents converge at the symbol’s hub, so I’d guess a ninth person goes there — Ana, possibly, if Gothel uses her to drain seven more witches of their magic. Which could make Gothel the tenth witch, if all eight on the rim are just resources for Gothel’s spell. Maybe those cloaks are empty because their wearers have already been sacrificed.

Gender roles, maybe. How does a person in EF2 learn to swim? By getting naked outdoors, where anyone could walk by. A boy could do that without creating a scandal — it might even be considered appropriately daring behaviour — but I’m guessing it wouldn’t be proper for a lady, especially a lady from a wealthy family.

GaultheriaParticipantI posted this in another thread, but it fits better here:
– In 7×04, Rumple says he will go to the moment where he will meet the Guardian. He does bump into Alice, but Henry also zooms by on his motorcycle.
It’s not just Alice and Henry who are there. I think this is one of those Oracle of Delphi prophecies:
– In the article linked above, A&E state, “The Guardian is the person who can hold the knife and keep the power without letting it consume them and will allow [Rumple] to be free of being the Dark One.”
Rumpel has renounced the power of the Dark One, so for all practical purposes he’s already doing the job of the Guardian, but he still wants to pass the burden to someone else, even though he knows (re: his conversation with Gideon earlier this season) how dangerous that would be for the recipient. I think Rumpel will ultimately decide that the person with the most experience at resisting the Dark One power should be the one to carry the burden. The moment Rumpel decides to keep the dagger (this time for the right reason), the dagger will disappear in a puff of smoke.

GaultheriaParticipantAnastasia had been ‘dead’ a lot longer than Lucy’s been alive.
Could still work. The interpretation has more flexibility in that direction than in the other.

GaultheriaParticipantLucy’s one single tear (of belief? of disbelief?) woke up Anastasia but seems to have put Lucy in a comatose state.
Anastasia has been “dead” just about as long as Lucy has been alive. If Lucy is Anastasia reincarnated, then there’s just one soul between the two of them. This would explain why one needs to be comatose while the other is up and about, and why Tremaine was so interested in “winning” Lucy even before the tear spell became possible.

GaultheriaParticipantIn the opening scene, Rapunzel has odd words for her husband:
“You’re a brilliant tailor, Marcus. Once I mend you, you’ll stitch together the life we’ve always dreamed of — our family.”
Other than as justification for the “stitch” line, Marcus’ profession seems irrelevant to the story. Sure, a tailor couldn’t expect the life of luxury that Gothel’s magic gave the family, but the contrast would have been even greater if Marcus had begun the episode as an unskilled but hardworking farmhand. (Maybe the tailor bit is from some other fairy tale?)
But with the rest of that scene for context…
Rapunzel tells Marcus that she stopped the cart “because I found our family something to eat.” The garden of small plants is on the other side of a stone fence. At night. Where it would be hard to see in the gloom. Rapunzel likely already knew about the garden.
One of the little girls seems to know that the garden is a dangerous place: “Are you sure it’s safe to go in there, Mama?”.
The garden includes what look like Gothel’s magic flowers from Tangled, and Gothel declares that “many people come here in an attempt to steal my magic.”
I’d like to interpret all this to mean that Rapunzel (mother of Anastasia, the favourite daughter) drugged Marcus and kidnapped him and his daughter Drizella with the intention of using stolen magic to make them all believe they were one happy family. (Maybe she’d already stolen enough for Marcus but not enough for Drizella.)
