GaultheriaParticipant
I can’t help it; in every one of those pictures with two people, I see one person reacting to the other’s, um, “digestive fragrance”.

GaultheriaParticipantI’m a knitter. Here’s a scarf I designed and made to declare my geek affiliation:

I’ve been on a bit of a sock-making bend recently. I’ve also made some ridiculously oversized stocking caps (up to 7 ft long), a bunch of regular-sized toques, wrist warmers, and a season 18 Doctor Who scarf (the red one).

1) King George not only needed A son but he needed someone mentally fit to be a king. Also, he probably would’ve wanted a boy that would resemble him (physically) at least a bit. All this definitely limited the possibilities – after all, how a king can expect any peasant kid to grow strong and intelligent? Then, if he really wanted to go into this, he would’ve had to do a “research” among the ‘potential parents’ and, however discrete that can be, people surely would notice if strangers started asking weird questions and then a child disappeared while the king miraculously conceived a heir? It would be every king’s worry that something, some time, would be discovered (whether it’s a deal or a kidnap) and a gossip would start, then his kingdom would fall apart or start an internal war. With Rumple’s deal, he avoided all that – his ‘son’ not only turned out to be a handsome, strong, smart and charming but also his real parents were bound by magic to never speak about it. Convenient!
Maybe there was no deception on George’s part. Rather than locating a passable fake heir, he might’ve needed Rumpel’s help to find the mistress who fled (fearing a lethal coverup) when she realized she was pregnant.

GaultheriaParticipantHook should’ve stuck his arm into the magic pond, but after 250 years I guess he’s used to the way things are now.

GaultheriaParticipantOh, I don’t think Aurora’s returned heart was really Cora’s or anyone else’s. Can’t give a minor character too much melodrama or the audience will get bored. But Mulan should have done the squishy test (just a bit) to make sure the heart was Aurora’s.

GaultheriaParticipantOkay, no worries.
I was thinking of an episode of The Almighty Johnsons: Mike and Val have been trying to start a family, and even fertility treatments haven’t helped. Mike’s deadbeat grandfather Olaf (who is about the same age as Mike, but that’s another story) has been living with them. Olaf’s latest girlfriend shows up at the house, pregnant. When the girlfriend talks about getting an abortion, Val breaks down in despair that what she wants more than anything else has come so easily to someone who doesn’t want it.
I think that Regina would be just as vulnerable, if she had to face someone who wouldn’t accept the return of a long-lost true love.

Kitsis and Horowitz would not have shown the scene of Mulan putting Aurora’s heart back unless it was important to establish this fact – for future events.
Well, Mulan put a heart into Aurora…

GaultheriaParticipantThe loss of Daniel has been consuming Regina’s soul for the past 50 years. It’s not Emma’s pain that would trouble Regina, it’s Emma’s disregard for the opportunity for true love. Regina would be like a starving person watching through the window as Emma wastes food at a feast.

GaultheriaParticipantSpeaking of Regina, if there’s one thing that could really push her over the edge, it would be someone’s true love returning after a long absence and being completely spurned. If Emma rejects Neal, as she almost certainly would at least at first, that would be like rubbing salt in Regina’s emotional wounds.

GaultheriaParticipantI got the impression that Cora had moved her heart to a different location in her own body. Relocating it a few inches, say from the chest to the abdomen, would protect it from direct attack for at least a few seconds, and it would never be beyond reach of her magical defenses.
