–It *is* like 2015-2017 in Storybrooke, yes? So someone explain Rumple’s incredibly old Polaroid camera….Even if he doesn’t want to use his phone there are a few more modern options, lol. The town isn’t actually stuck in the 1980s.

Rumpel likes things that have a history. He runs a pawn shop, and he’s been collecting Stuff (not stuff; his stuff is Stuff) for centuries.

–LOL at Belle’s long gray streak that is so completely unsubtle.

Dying-Belle’s wig, which didn’t move at all every time she crumpled her face.

    ghost Belle

In light of that scene’s similarity to one from Ghostbusters, Rumpel’s waking expression takes on new meaning.

Jacinda is a headstrong young woman whose principles keep bringing her into conflict with authority, and Ivy is a polished and snide businesswoman who just wants her mother’s approval. Oh, Henry, with love interests like those, your cursed name should be Ed.

    Who is Alice’s mother?

Accent, quirky outlook, and facial expressions cranked up to 11 all point to Zelena, I’d say.

______’s return could help, especially since people want know what happened to ______ and ______.

(Hey, spoiler tags don’t work in block quotes.)

I think it won’t be enough to increase the ratings.

My gut sense is that the fans who aren’t already watching season 7 — and who might care enough about this character to tune in for 7.04 — have already been so angry with the writers for years that no good can come of this episode.

The old characters just aren’t relevant anymore. Henry, Roni, and Jolly Rogers don’t have much continuity with their earlier-season selves, and parts of fandom decided long ago that the show writers only produce inaccurate fanfic regarding the established characters.

I noticed her hair is black, brown, and maybe dark blone all braided in?

Sounds like all three Fates rolled into one.

On that theme, she could be a fusion of Rapunzel (backstory) and Gothel (personality).

She reminds me so much of crazy Belle from season one but with magic and seer’s powers that I think she must be Belle and Rumpel’s child. If Rapunzel’s enchanted GOLDen hair becomes a plot point, I’ll be convinced.

Tiana gives Hook a curious look when they’re introduced, almost as if she recognizes him from an early memory. (“My father had a hook just like that, but he’d be a lot older by now.”) Hook introduced himself as “Captain Hook”, and it’s possible he never used that swashbuckling nickname during his brief time as a family man.

Henry is in danger because he has the heart of the truest believer — except that in Seattle he isn’t a true believer. Could the new curse have been done to protect him? (Does the curse require a lethal sacrifice? If Regina sacrificed her own memories of Henry as part of the new curse, would that be enough to power it?)

Rapunzel is the new Rumpelstiltskin. Perhaps that’s another family connection.

It just… sounds like… a Victorian metaphor. For something else. But I really don’t want to google this.

Maybe this episode will be a comedy with serious subtext. I can’t help thinking of Terry Pratchett when I see the number eight used in a magical context.

The slightly-filtered photographs don’t suit the storybook’s classy archaic style, and they’re used in the show to introduce flashback scenes, so I’d be happy believing that it’s just a TV convention and that the book’s illustrations don’t really look like that in-universe.
