GaultheriaParticipant
Yeah, occasionally, I’ll be logged out on certain boards (not threads, but entire boards) and logged in on others. No matter how much I try to log in, it doesn’t work. It’s random.
Is it just the index pages that don’t work right? Right now, the “Recent posts (with spoilers)” page doesn’t seem to want to let me log in, and I’ve tried refreshing that tab and closing it and opening it again. When I click on a thread link on that page, though, the thread’s page shows me to be logged in. And it looks like I can post in these threads, too.

GaultheriaParticipantNo one else to my knowledge is having issues logging in. I’ll look into what is going on but I haven’t heard any other issues. People are posting regularly so I assume there is no wide spread issue.
About every couple of weeks, I find I’ve been logged out. When I try to log in, it doesn’t work. I can still read the forums, but it doesn’t keep track of which threads I’ve read, and I can’t post. When I check back a few hours later, I’m already logged in. It hasn’t been much of a problem for me, though, because I don’t post all that often.
The “Freshness” numbers don’t seem to update reliably; they get stuck for hours at a time. I think this happens whether or not I’m logged in.
I think this forum is hosted on Daniel’s computer and mirrored on his webspace provider’s computer. I’ve seen messages — though not recently — as pages load, about them being old versions.
Maybe Daniel’s internet provider sometimes just stops working for a few hours at a time. Mine does that.

GaultheriaParticipantIt reminds me of TAHITI, from Agents of SHIELD, so I’m guessing the B-story is about Robin’s resurrection gone wrong.

December 7, 2016 at 3:03 am in reply to: Emma's personality in the AU- What did You think about it? #331656GaultheriaParticipantIn this Wishworld she probably grew up being too protected and cuddled.
Emma would have hated that life, even if she didn’t know anything different for comparison. Probably realized that her mother had had to put aside her adventurous true self when she took up the crown, too. So, I’m not sure whether FTL Emma was truly wimpy or whether she saw an opportunity to avoid her destiny as queen. I think that’d be a neat mirror to her struggle with her savior destiny in the real world. Emma always seems to be running from something.

GaultheriaParticipantSnakes and apples have that Garden of Eden symbolism. Maybe we’ll see that on the season 6 box set if they keep with the apple theme.

GaultheriaParticipantRegina’s redeemed, yes, but again, not by virtue of a man, but by virtue of her own work.
I was thinking of Snow as the redeemed villain, from when she gave up part of her memory and set out on that path of vengeance against Regina.
AKA’s example of Will and Anastasia does work though.
I think the femme fatale description might be due to how characters behave when we’re first introduced to them. Ana was optimistic and cheerful when she was young, and Regina was kind and selfless, but we don’t think of them as fundamentally that way because we didn’t learn about that earlier part of their lives until later. Snow was cruel and motivated by wrath for a while, but we got to see an earlier good phase of her life before we saw the bad phase.

GaultheriaParticipantI’m trying to think about any counterexamples of the man saving the “villainous” woman
Charming stopping Snow from murdering Regina. Two villainous women saved, and one of them redeemed. Snow would not have come back to the light side from that murder.

GaultheriaParticipantFlynn is very much the Rumpelstiltskin of Timeless. He would do anything — murder anybody — to protect his family.

GaultheriaParticipantIt doesn’t help that the characters don’t react to things either.
Yeah. That makes it difficult for me to relate to these characters. A real town, plagued by armed maniacs openly wandering the streets waving weapons and kidnapping people, would have a frantic and sustained response to the threat. There must be something in the water to keep everybody calm — which I could totally accept as part of the curse, except that they were also like that before the curse.
I wouldn’t want OUAT to portray people completely realistically, but I think it needs a balance between the cartoon behaviour of the original Battlestar Galactica and the gloomy depression of the remake.

November 28, 2016 at 3:10 pm in reply to: 6 X 09 CHANGELINGS – – What were your favorite and least favorite moments #330817GaultheriaParticipantI guess Rumpel will end up in genie cuffs by the end of this season.
Interesting. Don’t think anyone has hypothesized that one.
I’m thinking about the speculation that RC will leave the show. This’d be a way to reduce his screen time while still keeping him available for the finale.
Even if Rumpel stays as a main character, the nature of his threat needs to change. His role is pretty unpleasant this year, and not in an entertaining way. He’s not enjoying his life in an evil way, he’s just a magical bomb that can go off at any time, in any location and in any way. That’s just depressing and boring. Rumpel/Gold is most effective as villain when he manipulates people by talking. The dagger can overrule Rumpel’s free will if someone else has the dagger and says the right things, but the cuffs would go one step further by preventing Rumpel from using magic independently.
