Welcome to the Underworld! What did you make of this new land? Why does it look like Storybrooke?

I think of the “real” Storybrooke as a place between childhood (fairy tales) and adulthood (the real world), and I like how Red Storybrooke is something similar.

The five rivers of the realm of Hades, and their symbolic meanings, are Acheron (the river of sorrow, or woe), Cocytus (lamentation), Phlegethon (fire), Lethe (oblivion), and Styx (hate),

I wonder if there’s a Storybrooke for each of the colourful rivers, and which one’s the red one. Fire’s not really the obvious choice for red, not with Mr. Bad Hair Day.

Sounds like they’re going on the grand tour, so we’ll probably see all the colours.

Yes, I think Hades is probably the one who created the Dark Curse.

Hades created the curse and sent it across the river on the black ferry?

Marcus looking and acting like he was “born to be King” sounds like a deliberate reference to Simba’s song. (Though hints, of course, aren’t promises.)

I think a singing animals curse would be cool.

“Cleo” seems like an odd choice of name if she’s just a contemporary. Everyone’s legendary royalty or something on this show.

I am talking about plot here, not other characters.

Someone else is using your account, then.

This doesn’t make any sense at all. If this was true then it would be true of all the characters.

In what way did my post offer an opinion on other characters?

–There is a new Operation name and once you hear it, a lot of the most recent spoilers fall into place.

    Operation Honey Badger!

I’ll use the word I kept using when this first started leaking: it’s cruel.

It is, but the whole Neal arc has been anyway, for anyone who liked him at all.

I liked Neal, but I’m not sad that he’s gone from the show, and I’m not interested in seeing him again. He was an important part of the plot in season 2, and after the technology vs magic storyline mutated and fizzled, he lost a lot of the relevance-to-plot that I thought made him interesting.

It’s a tragedy when real people die too soon, but the tragedy for fictional people is when they stick around too long. Neal lost a lot of relevance before he died, but he would have lost a lot more if he’d stayed.

I don’t mean this as flamebait. It’s just not something I can express in the other thread where most of the Neal talk takes place.

It seems to me that the producers think Snow and Charming are keystone characters that can’t be killed or sidelined without ruining the show, but neither have they allowed S&C to transition to the role of middle-aged parents and community leaders. S&C don’t look like youthful action heroes anymore, and when they’re forced to stay in their youthful roles, it’s awkward to watch. Actors age and change, and that’s good and natural, and the actors and their roles need to keep pace with each other.

There’ll be no escape for the princess this time.
