GaultheriaParticipant
Would it be good if Neal came back? I know that people like the character and the actor, but I think a return wouldn’t work. Neal was part of a story from years ago. The show has moved on, even though for the worse, and I don’t think it can regain what it had even by bringing all the ingredients back together.
While there’s a lot of unhappiness out there about unresolved (and poorly resolved) Neal storylines, do Neal fans really think that there’s any way to get satisfaction in that regard now? Wouldn’t any appearance by MRJ as Neal now just feel like cheap stuntcasting?
I get the appeal of looking back with nostalgia, even though MRJ as Neal wasn’t my thing, but I don’t see anything other than disappointment in store for the Neal fans even if he does come back to the show.

GaultheriaParticipantAnother possibility: Emma journeys to the underworld because she has something very important to tell Hook.

GaultheriaParticipant.
ABC could be raking in mad money for exploiting the fandom’s unpaid labor, fans CAN HAS ALL TEH SIHPS, and Kistowitz can actually start putting together a professionally written and well-thought out S6.
Wins all around. The shipping wars would be glorious!

GaultheriaParticipantI didn’t expect to see that apple again until next season. This is too soon. I can’t.
Think of it as if he’s holding his hook up to the camera to frame his eye, only he’s lost his hook.

December 28, 2015 at 9:40 pm in reply to: The Official Doctor Who Thread: Born To Save The Universe #314500GaultheriaParticipantI thought it fell flat. Watching this special was like watching a commercial for a movie that looks like it ought to be pretty good. Stuff happened, and characters hammed and shouted and quipped at each other, but it didn’t convey to me any emotional impact.
I think The Next Doctor is the best of the Christmas specials. The monsters — which would look really good in a Doctor Who version of Temple Run, by the way — are goofy, but it also has anguish and joy and pain and healing all mixed together, without using pre-approved cutouts from The Fandom Book of Feels.

GaultheriaParticipantI just want this show to make sense so badly
Wish granted! Oh, wait, I see what you meant…

GaultheriaParticipantAre they going to explain why Cora’s ghost was Rose McGowan yet Underworld Cora is Barbara Hearshey?
Or why Pan is Robbie even though he died as Stephen Lord. We all know it’s an actor thing, but it’d be nice to have an actual plausible explanation for these things for once.

GaultheriaParticipantSomeone coming back wrong was also a thing from Buffy.
I liked Giles’ subplot from season 7, where eveyone thought there was something strange about him but he was actually normal. If OUAT wants to treat Hook’s restoration as a comedy, having the townsfolk watch him for brain-eating tendencies, I think that would work.
They ran with the wrongness theme on Angel, too. When they restored Darla and Angel to life, she got her terminal illness back, and he became an ineffective warrior.
