Not just Disney canon, but also OUAT canon because in S3A, Ursula was a goddess. So, they better have a good reasoning for this.

Disliked: An entire season’s worth of people saying “villains”. And Snow and Charming believed the baddies about the magic talking tree.
Liked: The magic tree hates people. Probably because it’s the last suvivor of magic tree genocide. So, when the council of heroes needs magic lumber to build a tardis, Snow is all “Hey, there’s this magic tree that hates everybody…”
