At 0:56 there was a “happy endings” joke, in the nudge-nudge-wink-wink kind of way. Frozen had a few of those; it’s the plausible deniability that makes them funny.

GaultheriaParticipantKristoff- No clue right now…any suggestions for him?
Animal shelter guy and department store Santa!
Mulan: I really think we need to up the Storybrooke police department! Emma and David can’t do all the work themselves…and Mulan knows how to fight!
At night, Mulan could also run the kind of nightclub that doesn’t advertise itself in any particular way but everyone still knows who the target market is.

GaultheriaParticipantI’m trying to puzzle out what moral we take about love from ONCE using the ships as our launch pad.
I think that the show is sending the message — and I hope it’s not intentional — that love conquers all. Not just impediments to healthy relationships, but all: sensible judgement, accountability, justice…

GaultheriaParticipantRumplestiltskin and Belle (Rumbelle)
Idea: A passionate love that saves a soul from the darkest of evils
Problem: At the end of S3B, Belle is either woefully ignorant or blind that she has married a man that is dangerously addicted to magic. He is a manipulative liar who, at the end of the season, has murdered another person even after professing that he has changed. Belle has said a few times that she loves all parts of Rumple, even the parts that belong to the darkness. Is this sort of blind acceptance of a person’s flaws good?
Belle is a gangster’s girl. She’s determined to believe that she has something good.
Belle could be an interesting character. Despite all her apparent sweetness, I don’t think she has an ounce of empathy — otherwise, the magnitude of Rumpel’s crimes would overwhelm her. She had an “Ick!” reaction when she saw Rumpel torturing Robin; I’d say that she helped Robin escape not to ease his suffering but so that she could have her fantasy back. As long as Rumpel’s crimes are out of sight, she’s okay with them. I kind of think this makes her more monstrous than him, since Rumpel at least sometimes seems to have a tortured soul.

GaultheriaParticipantMaybe it’ll outpace real time. Enchanted Forest *of* the future would be awesome, the setting for the golden age of science fiction. Or how about a War of the Worlds sequel to Wonderland? I want to see Alice fighting Martians in Victorian England.

GaultheriaParticipantNot sure if anyone suggested this yet – but what if Rumple thought he was trapping the ICE QUEEN (i.e., who I think Elizabeth Mitchell’s character is) in the urn – but really he got Elsa. He just made a mistake. I think the ICE QUEEN is somehow responsible for the blizzard during the birth of Snow (it can’t be Elsa because she is the same age or even younger than Snow White) and she is also somehow responsible for Elsa getting her powers in the first place. Elsa is definitely a misdirect, and the true villain is the Ice Queen.
I’m betting Elsa was in the urn by choice. Elsa was her own best jailer in Frozen, and she’d make a deal with Rumpel to lock herself away if her powers were out of control again, or if it was the only way to keep Mitchell’s character from stealing her powers.
I also agree with Watcher that because Marian was destined to die… she will probably die this season. I just hope they give the “Robin Hood” story the respect it deserves. Perhaps we will get some flashbacks to Robin Hood’s life with Marian.
Marian needs to be a spy like Mata Hari. An agent of Nottingham, send to infiltrate not just Robin’s band but also enemy kingdoms such as Regina’s. Or maybe she even worked for Regina, and was in the dungeon to get confessions out of prisoners on whom torture wouldn’t work.

GaultheriaParticipantThey may not have done it for a ship, but I’m convinced there’s some reason beyond “story” behind it, because as a story decision it’s SO unsatisfying.
I think it’s good for the show. Neal was a loose end from the discarded Home Office storyline. He didn’t have his own background tale, just his relationships to other characters.
