GaultheriaParticipant
GeorgeLucas: King George and Granny.
(Actually, I think that would work. George needs someone tougher than himself, so that in an argument he can back down without losing face.)

GaultheriaParticipantWe need an episode or two set in the evil mirror universe, or featuring just the minor characters, or a musical. These 11-episode arcs can drag on, and they need a shakeup midway through (not at the end like 3B).
I guess a musical is the most likely; they could all go to the Frozen realm and appear as CGI characters.

GaultheriaParticipantFrozen seemed like it was designed with a OUAT tie-in in mind, the way the awkward phrase “True Love’s Kiss” kept popping up as a curse antidote.

Frozen shows the general experiences of repression and depression, and making Elsa’s story one about being gay would do a disservice to the broader population that has already found, in Frozen, a sympathetic portrayal of a kindred spirit who has a common and devastating mental condition. All kinds of people have to endure severe misery, and keeping the Frozen metaphor general doesn’t take anything away from homosexuals who relate to Elsa’s experience. An attitude of “we’re all in the same boat” helps increase understanding and sympathy across the board.

GaultheriaParticipantYou know it would be kind of nice to know if the reason why Neal.Baelfire was killed off because MJR wanted to be out of the show. I have been reading a lot lately that people are insisting that MJR quit/wanted out of the show and that is the main reason why Neal/Baelfire was killed off.
I get the strong impression that Neal was meant to die at the end of season 2, and that they kept him on for season 3 because he turned out to be popular and good for ratings. When it seems that the producers are making changes because of pressure from focus groups, the story loses something of what made it matter in the first place. Neal’s death would have been a tragedy — in terms of drama, and in personal terms for his fans — in any case, but it would have been powerfully Shakespearean at the end of season 2, where it would have been a kind of “fulfilling his destiny” scene. Instead, in season 3 he got a “Well, we don’t know what else to do with him” ending, and that’s the real loss.

GaultheriaParticipantI just finished watching Frozen. Olaf is totally Will.

GaultheriaParticipantTwo daggers, two Golds. Jekyll and Hyde.

GaultheriaParticipantRumpel seems to have the excuse that there are two of him right now, a Jekyll and a Hyde version, one for each dagger. The show can explore redemption by purging him of his evil or making a Star Trek point about how his good side needs the strength of his evil side.
For the sake of variety, I hope they explore different issues with Regina. Like, what if this latest shattered hope completely breaks her will? She’s always had a strong personality, whether for good or for evil. What would she be like with that taken away? How would the townsfolk react if they couldn’t cheer for her or hate her but had to look after her?

GaultheriaParticipantGaultheria, if you need sock blockers there’s good instructions on how to make them online out of plastic placemats. I’m planning on making a few myself.
Thanks for the tip about placemats. Yeah, I think it’s time for me to make some blockers.

GaultheriaParticipantWhich is easier, crochet or knitting?
I’ve heard that crochet is more likely to cause repetitive strain injury, but I’m not a crocheter, so I don’t know if that’s true. I’ve had a bit of pain from a few over-long knitting sessions, but nothing that’s caused a permanent problem.
