ONCE - Once Upon a Time podcast
Reviews, theories, and talk about ABC's Once Upon a Time TV show
Making your own fanvids can be very satisfying. The downside is that it’s a lot of work, and it takes a loooooong time. Days, for even a one-minute piece. Adding video to a full song can take weeks. Fanvids don’t get a lot of recognition for the amount of effort, and so fanvid makers have to feel a powerful, personal need to put together any particular work.
I use kdenlive (http://www.kdenlive.org) for my video work, and audacity (http://audacity.sourceforge.net) for occasional special audio processing.

A person who has fallen as far as Rumpel or Regina can still choose to make right decisions in the present, regardless of past actions, but anyone who knows someone that dangerous should get as far away as possible, never look back, and never give them another chance.
I haven’t experienced abuse. Just trying to identify what bothers me about the difference between fantasy drama logic and real life.

Grumpy is near the top — he’s at the top of the comedy list — but comedy works over a short timescale, while tragedy is long-term, and so I’m casting my vote for King George. I like how George has sympathetic qualities without being in any way endearing, and I hope they bring him back without giving him a redemption arc.

Granny probably would have had a fit and lectured him about exposure in public places.
Granny might say something to that effect, but not right away.

The potion was a placebo effect.
I wonder… In Neverland, belief really does make things real, and everybody started believing in the potion before they left the island.

That’s actually why I like that moment, though. I remember thinking, “that’s sorta cool. It’s like she’s floating evilly toward them!”
Yeah, it’s “off” just enough to give that scene a spooky vibe, like a slightly out-of-tune chord.
I think the worst CGI was when Graham’s wolf snarled in the tavern; its teeth floated in front of its face. They might have done better to leave the visuals alone and just add a deep (and growing) growl to the audio.

The worst CGI moment for me in Once is Regina walking across the floor at Snow’s wedding in the Pilot. It just doesn’t look right.
Regina was wearing those shoes with hidden rollers.

I want to do a Quiet Riot / Simple Minds mashup now: “Don’t You Forget About The Noize”

I’d like it if the WWW is the third of the Weird Sisters, the first two being Malcom’s creepy spinner friends.
