ParticipantBut I think that the negativity is there in part BECAUSE the show is doing some amazing things.
While I can see this being a valid point, I also have to say that the degree of the negativity is waaay over the top.
LOST was a phenomenem that became a Cult Classic – a legend in it’s own time.
LOST fans were and still are extremely passionate about the show and the characters, but, we never dogged the writers to death, tried to tell them how to write the show, complained when something we didn’t like happened, threatened to stop watching for this reason or that reason.
No, we watched the show….we went down whatever ‘worm hole’ they took us down and we loved the roller coaster that the writers took us on.
Because we wanted to hear ‘THEIR STORY’.
Yes, there are some haters, but, that came later, and I don’t need to get into that.Maybe the difference between OUAT and LOST (when it comes to some of the nasty obsessive tweets, etc) has to do with age group/maturity level of some of the fans, idk, but, I’ve never seen this kind of thing ever before….some of the post and tweets I’ve read are one word shy of stalking!
It’s out of hand and I would be a bit afraid if I were one of the writers or one of the cast members.[adrotate group="5"]gypsy
ParticipantI agree.
I’m guessing Felix was the leader or became the leader after Bae left.I don’t see Bae being just a Lost boy.
His alias is Neal Cassady.
The real Neal Cassady was known as the Peter Pan of his generation, not the Lost Boy of his generation. Also, Peter pan is, in a sence, Bobby Driscoll, but, giving Bae that as an alias would have definitely given it away, so, they went the indirect route with Neal Cassady (yes, it is spelled different – there’s a reason)
Bobby Driscoll lived a similar life as Neal Cassady did, and they both died in 1968.
Plus, there are 6-7 paragraphs worth of clues connecting Bea/Neal to Peter Pan.gypsy
ParticipantOmg! Love that! SK’s “Misery”!
Yes, that’s exactly what the nasty/obsessed fans remind me of – Annie Wilkes! 😆gypsy
ParticipantThe viewers are “irrelevent in the scheme of things as far as the show goes”!
The viewsers have no right to expect that they are ‘relevent’…to the plot, to the s’ships’ (a term I hate btw) or to how the show progresses or character developement.
This show is not wirtten for the writers, you’re right, it’s written BY them…and it seems that lot of ‘fans’ are forgetting that!

ParticipantI completely agree with you!
People complain about everything!
From MM’s hair and eyebrows to how unfair they portray adoption to the skin color of the actors and everything in between!
It gets rather annoying. Most of the ppl who whine about plot holes and the writing being bad are the same ones who haven’t figured out some of the things from S1 and/or who don’t get the clues/connections/allusions/nods, etc.
And they call themselves fans!
I feel like screaming at them – watch the show the writers want to show us or, if they can do better (lol) go write their own show and stop telling the writers what to do with THEIR story!gypsy
ParticipantI was pretty sure she said frauds not frogs.

ParticipantFirst of all, I don’t know where you got that the ratings are bad.
They reported a slight drop – from over 8 million to just over 7 million.
OUAT is one of the top 25 rated shows right now.As far as the writers ‘owing’ anything to the fans, they ‘owe’ us a story.
Their story. The one they want to tell.
It’s up to us whether we choose to watch it or not.How arrogant of some people to think they can tell someone else’s story better then that person can!
As far as CS goes – can it happen? Sure it can.
And if it does, CS fans willl be in their glory, and good for them!
But the writers are simply not going to go there just because some fans want them to.
Why? Because they are not going to change their whole entire story to please what comes out to be a handful of ppl (compared the entire viewing audience). They are going to tell the story they want to tell, like or not.

ParticipantYou’re looking at one little quote from an interview and ignoring the hundreds of other evidence that shows us CS is happening and, as they say, ‘canon’.
I don’t think you quite understand the definition of ‘canon’ :
Canon basically means ‘official’.
Something confirmed by the writers as fact.CS was not proven as fact by the writers.
It is a theory, a hope, for some, but not canon. An example of canon:
Mr Gold/Rumplestiltskin did not have his memories back until Emma said her name at Granny’s B&B in eps 2.That was ‘oficially’ confirmed by the writers.
That is ‘canon’.gypsy
ParticipantThey had no problem getting rights for Hook.
Hook is Public Domain.
They had a problem getting rights for Peter Pan.And my question was more concerning the part where you stated that the writers try to please everyone and do what the fans want.
I don’t think they ever said that.
They tell the story their way.
If they did what the fans want, it would be one huge, convoluted fanfic and I would not watch it.
I want the story K&H want to tell, not the story the fans want to tell.gypsy
ParticipantSarah_TN- Don’t wory it will happen The directors said that they try to please everyone (including different ‘ships’). However in the end they are going to go with what they planned from the beginning – Emma/Hook (which they had actually planned since season 1)
Where did you hear that?
I would like to know your source for that statement. These are the LOST wriers.
They didn’t do that on LOST and I don’t see them doing that on OUAT.And, as a friend on another site pointed out:
1. They don’t need a love triangle between Hook/Neal/Emma….they already added Tamara.
2. They don’t do what the fans want. – example – Graham, August. -
