There are more than just a few tid bits connecting the name Neal Cassady to Peter Pan and to Bae.
I mean, they named him that for a reason.As far as “a place without magic”….. Blue Fairy never said the bean would take Bae DIRECTLY to a place without magic.
In fact, she told Bae to follow the bean wherever it may lead him.[adrotate group="5"]In the pilot, Emma tells Henry that she had a family til she was three, but then, they had their own kid and sent her back.
K&H elaborated on the name Swan – it’s a nod to the Swan Station on LOST and also, to the Ugly Duckling story.
Emma being the ‘ugly duckling’…not fitting in, but, learning, through her journey – everything she went through until she finally believed – that she is the Saviour, and beomes the ‘Swan’.
On some fan sites, ppl think Lancelot hinted at the Holy Grail in Lady of the Lake when he spoke of “…the legend of a cup that grants eternal life…”
Some religions believe the Holy Grail is the cup used by Jesus at the Last Supper.
Alchemists believe the Holy Grail is really the Philosopher’s Stone, because it is said to grant eternal life.
And, still, others believe the Holy Grail are people….actual descendents of Jesus Christ, who still walk the Earth, today.
What the Holy Grail actually is, is a controversial subject disputed between religions, so, I’m not sure they would go there.

Is there a special significance to the golden chalice that Rumplestiltskin replaced with the chipped cup? Horowitz:How he got that chalice is perhaps a story for another time,but the significance is his prized possession is being replaced by another prized possession,which is the chipped cup.
So, maybe they’ll introduce it in a future season.
Alot of things in Rumplestiltskin’s castle were nods – Mickey’s hat from Fantasia, The Golden Fleece…
I’m pretty sure Excalibur is there…in the scene where Belle gets a vase for the rose (Gaston lol)….she walks past it…..it’s next to Gepetto’s ‘parents’.Triton’s Trident is by the door….

said that maybe Henry ran and Neal and Emma gave chase.I remember thinkning that could be possible…..if Henry found out that Neal is his father and realized Emma had lied to him….he’s a kid, so, he ran…..???
Neal Cassady was in Ken Keasey’s movie/documentary “Magic Trip” along with the Grateful Dead.
They drove a bus, named ‘Further’ from San Fransisco to NY.
The Dead wrote a song about that trip, specifically about Neal – “That’s it for the Other One”
Line in the song: “Cowboy Neal at the wheel on the Bus to Never Never Land.”
One of the many reasons I believe Neal is not only Bae, but, Peter Pan as well.
The Dead also wrote another song about Neal – “Cassidy” – yes, it’s spelled different….which I think is another clue pointing to these connections….’Cassady’ was spelled with an ‘a’ in the press release and in the synopsis, yet, it was spelled with an ‘i’ (Cassidy) on the wanted poster.
I added these and some other connections concerning ‘Neal Cassady’ (at her request) to TheGoldenKey’s theory about Neal/Bae/Peter Pan.
Her theory was posted on here a few months ago, but, she’s had the theory since last February.
It’s a really good theory…..convinced me 🙂
Plus, K&H (especially H) are die hard Grateful Dead fans….patterned the fictitious band “Geronimo Jackson” from LOST after them.
Neal has a Geronimo Jackson ‘Dharma Lady’ sitcker on the back of this phone, or ipod, whatever as well as a sticker on the back of the VDub and Henry had the CD in his packPlayarita –

Yes, I know Jefferson is the Mad Hatter, but, I do think he also represents the White Rabbit.
He’s the realm jumper…he takes ppl down the rabbit hole to other worlds, which is what the WR did.
Whether he can shapeshift or not, idk…I never thought about that.
However, if he can, he kept his memory in SB, maybe he remembered how to shapeshift, maybe that’s how he survived the fall out the window in Hat Trick…..idk, though, SB didn’t have magic.PriceofMagic –
