Mixing the ‘magic’ heart with Dr Frankenstein’s ‘science’, I think was alluding to Alchemy.
In Shelley’s novel, Dr F was studying Alchemy…he abandoned his studies to persue his ‘bringing back the dead’ theory and make it a reality.
Alchemy is chemistry, mixed with a little mythology, religion, sprirituality and, to some degree, magic.
[adrotate group="5"]I think the safe haven (present day FTL) is Neverland…Neverland is an island…Lancelot referred to the safe haven as an island.
I, for one, will be very disappointed if Bae is not still alive. I think that would be a big let down after all the buildup…..he is Rumplestiltsknin’s motivation, the reason for the Dark Curse and in turn, the reason for the show.
I do believe Bae is Peter Pan and Neal Cassady (Henry’s father)..albeit, for different reasons 🙂

K&H already said, Dr Frankenstein is from a ‘World without Color’.
Monstro is from the Fairy Tale World.We saw Gepetto and a wooden Pinocchio battle Monstro, and the Blue Fairy showed up – she’s the one who turned Pinocchhio into a real boy.
That scene/eps was the nod to Monstro, and I really don’t see a reason for them to bring Monstro back into the story.Dr Frankenstein needed Jefferson’s hat to go between worlds, so, I don’t see him actyally being a portal, in whale form.
Pinocchio didn’t go to anyother world except our world, through the wardrobe, like Emma did.
Maybe Cora and/or Regina couldn’t take his heart.
In The Crocodile, Rumplestiltskin reached in Hook’s chest and grabbed hold of his heart, without ripping it out, thanks to Milah showing up.
Maybe his heart was ‘marked’…..like Granny’s arm was ‘marked’ by the wolf.
😉 Gotcha! I agree with EvilQueen…..if the Dark One curse is broken, I think Rumple will be the age he was when he became the Dark One.
Archie went back to the age he was when he was turned into a cricket, even tho at least 60 years past between when he did become a cricket and when the Dark Curse happened.
Just because the Dark Curse gets broken, doesn’t mean all curses will be broken.
The Dark One curse can only be broken 1 of 2 ways:
If Rumplestiltskin is killed with the dagger – as he killed The Dark One and then became The Dark One.
Belle’s true love kiss seemed to start working in Skin Deep, so, that maybe the a way to have Rumple’s Dark One curse broken wothout having to kill him off.
If August had anything to do with Henry’s adoption, he would have had to do it from Phuket.
He was already in Phuket when Emma first found out she was pregnant and he was still in Phuket when Emma first set foot in Storybrooke, 10 years later.My guess would be that Rumplestiltskin ‘wrote’ it into the curse.
He added a drop of the true love potion as a ‘safety valve’
He probably added many safety valves to the Dark Curse when he wrote it.As far as Storybrooke being in Maine, I know that is a Stephen King nod by the writers, who are huge SK fans….they had to choose somewhere… 🙂
